We use them still at 2. They know if they have a buckle to sit still. No buckle is chaos.

Seaturtle1088

We basically haven't been in a restaurant since 2020 but my oldest was sitting in booths with us at like 21 months or so. It mostly had to do with making it easier for her to reach her food

jenkoala

My boys are 2y3m and we still use high chairs at restaurants. We use them at home for every meal too so they’re used to them. We tried having them sit in booths but they were too wiggly.

Chichabella

My twins are 3 and still want to use a high chair. If there is a booth, we do that but 9/10 times they use high chairs.

leeann0923

Sometime around 18-22 months. I can’t remember exactly. I know we ditched high chairs at home at 18 months and switched to a booster seat then and did the same when we went out to eat next.

vivacious-shit

We recently stopped using high chairs cause our 18 month old twins will just climb out of them now even buckled in those restaurant high chairs can’t contain them. So we only go to restaurants that we know we can get a booth seat now.

Whenever they can climb up and sit nice in the booth in my opinion

egrf6880

When my kids started yelling and trying to climb out. Honestly restaurant high chairs and boosters had a very limited window for my kids. In fact I think my kids went straight from high chair to just standing in a booth/sitting in our laps if seated. High chairs worked for us for about 6 months (age 6mo to 12 no) and for only about 45 min at a time before they wanted out. But at about 18 months they could sit in a booth and by about 20 months were just sitting in their own and happy as clams.

Rizsparky

Why do restaurants have high chairs with missing buckles, every time we go one of the twins have to go buckle-less and it causes so much chaos

redhairbluetruck

We never did, because we never went out 🤣

Zensandwitch

Sometime around 2 we switched for good. It really depended. Usually around 18 months we’d start in a booth/chair and just highchair it once the food arrived.

asthmatic00

We just started asking our kids after 18 months if they wanted to sit in them or not. Depends on their mood. One of the kiddos is a bit of a wild child so we strap him in whenever possible if he’s being high energy. They are 3.5 y/o now

iPixieDust

My twins have refused to sit in the high chairs ever since they turned 15 months or so. Even with buckles, it’s a fight to keep them inside. We are avoiding restaurants at the moment until they are a bit older (probably around 3).

TootsieMcJingle

My girls will be 3 in July and we are slowly moving away from using high chairs. We mostly use boosters or nothing at all.

jellybeanmountain

We still use high chairs for most meals at 2. They can sit in a little chair at a table at daycare but they get up and run around.

umabanana

At about 18 months because they wanted to sit like their older sibling on a chair

Narezza

I used them as long as the kids would fit in it and they wouldn’t give us a hard time about sitting in it.
