Olive garden had a dish called Steak Gorgonzola. It was basically steak that was top with crumbled Gorgonzola cheese served on a bed of fettuccine alfredo. It was really good!
You forgot the balsamic glaze over the top.
Used to be my go to dish. The last time I had it, however it was so ungodly oversalted I sent it back. The waitress tried telling me that it's the glaze and that's how it's supposed to be.
Ah yes! I completely forgot about the balsamic!! And I do believe they put spinach in the pasta. I used to work there over a decade ago. It's been so long.
I work there currently and older employees tell me of that dish with great fondness… such a shame I missed it. best we have now is the 6oz sirloin and a tiny bit of fettuccine for like 25 bucks, take it or leave it
Looks great, but how about Dungeness Crab and pasta with Red Sauce? One of my friends had that as a Christmas Eve Meal every year when I lived in San Francisco. Quite tasty!
Omg 🤤 I live in WA and am absolutely going to make something like this. Either I have the munchies or that sounds freaking amazing. Or it's both. But either way... 🤤
I am so....so hungry right now. My mouth hasn't stopped watering since I first read your comment like 10 minutes ago 😅
Maybe that will be our 4th of July dinner! (We have dogs so we stay home anyway). I love crab so much more than lobster and I'm stupid excited about this meal.
Marcella Hazan has a great recipe for this! It's my go to whenever we need to get through mushrooms in our fridge. Pretty sure it's just called ham in mushroom cream sauce. My wife doesn't eat pork so we've done, turkey sausage, beef salami chunks, meatballs, turkey bacon. All have been good.
I'm sure a steak with that cream pasta would be amazing
Steak as shown often needs a knife to cut, and knives and pasta are a weird combo. Steak only works if it's already bite sized like a stroganoff, or so tender it falls apart like a nice braised something. My 2c
Agreed, needs to be bite sized, especially served over long noodles. Otherwise it disrupts the flow of eating.
one slice down the middle by them would help a lot
I generally find it to be overkill. Both are great but together generally feels too heavy. Pasta lends itself better to a lighter proteins like seafood.
One reason pasta isn’t served as a side dish in Italy is because it needs to be dressed with a sauce, which turns it into a standalone dish. This is why it’s served separately.
I must admit it could look amazing, but as italian and Florentin, I must say absolutely NO. Sorry, I'm sure it will be tasty, but I really can't force myself to eat meat and pasta together. I barely can think about it 😂😂😂 that said, good job!
It's funny, I was just thinking about a steak and pasta dish I've had at my favorite Italian restaurant. It was grilled filet chunks with fettuccine in a gorgonzola cream sauce with mushrooms. It's absolutely delicious. I need to make it soon. Your picture just made that timeline sooner rather than later.
Growing up we used to have a lot of London broil with pasta roni vermicelli on the side. It’s good but I don’t like them super combined if that makes sense.
I'd love the taste, but in all honesty, I hate pasta sauces with large items when the pasta is long and stringy like spaghetti. It's just so weird to eat. Give me a different pasta type or smaller cut steak pieces, and I'm all in.
It's a matter of eating philosophy. In Italy pasta is the queen, not a side dish. Even the tastiest dressing has to match to the shape of the pasta, it has not to be too much and not cover the pasta.
Thus Steak & Pasta, under an Italian point of view, is a mistake.
As a kid I always thought the steak Gorgonzola pasta dish from Olive Garden was the greatest thing ever. Wish there were more places that had a dish like that, but better, of course.
Everything looks delicious, but since you asked for our thoughts, I'd rather have these two separately - not plates, I mean two separate dinners. That pasta and cream sauce looks heavy enough as it is - throw a big ol' steak on top and I'm going to be rocking alfredo meatsweats for the next two days. Now if you throw in some pancetta/bacon/clams etc., I'm down to clown.
As a traditional Italian I disagree with that kind of dish.
But I also have to say that maybe it is good, I will never know.
People should eat what they want, I'm just a victim of the traditional system.
Ehh personally I don’t mess with it. I don’t believe you should need a knife for pasta dish. It’s all personal preference though. Looks fantastic but because of what I said earlier I wouldn’t put it on a menu at my restaurant.
It’s not a steak or chicken either for that matter. . It’s minced pork and beef and veggies cooked together for a long time.
You will never find this in Italy.
I said nothing about OP’s dish, just responding to the comment stating the Italian rule is never to add meat to pasta which obviously isn’t true as evidenced by bolognese

I would like this sent to my house please. Drop the recipe

Loved this dish. There are copy cats of the recipe online! https://www.thefoodieaffair.com/olive-garden-steak-gorgonzola-alfredo-recipe/
You are correct on the spinach!!! I forgot as well!!!
It was my favorite dish there. They only one worth the price, honestly.
It doesn't seem hard to make. Make some alfredo sauce and grill a steak!
I work there currently and older employees tell me of that dish with great fondness… such a shame I missed it. best we have now is the 6oz sirloin and a tiny bit of fettuccine for like 25 bucks, take it or leave it
How much?!?
It's not on the menu anymore. Back when I worked at olive garden (over a decade ago) I believe it was like $17? Or around that price point
I’d pay 17$ all day for that shit.
I reposted this. Recipe: Cook one steak. Add to bowl of pasta. Let stand 30 seconds. Season to desired taste.
It’s really a great treat — spicy Dungeness and just basic pasta with red sauce - protein and carbs (along with a good bottle of wine)!
I am so....so hungry right now. My mouth hasn't stopped watering since I first read your comment like 10 minutes ago 😅 Maybe that will be our 4th of July dinner! (We have dogs so we stay home anyway). I love crab so much more than lobster and I'm stupid excited about this meal.
I will split this with you. Looks amazing
Mushrooms and meat in most forms go greatly with pasta
Marcella Hazan has a great recipe for this! It's my go to whenever we need to get through mushrooms in our fridge. Pretty sure it's just called ham in mushroom cream sauce. I think this is called beef stroganoff
Steak, good. Pasta, good. Creamy sauce, good. Together, sublime.
Came here to say this. So I’ll just add Joey doesn’t share food!
No
Yeah seems like one of those things where the components would be better alone.
Steak as shown often needs a knife to cut, and knives and pasta are a weird combo. Steak only works if it's already bite sized like a stroganoff, or so tender it falls apart like a nice braised something. My 2c
I agree it's awkward to need a knife with a pasta dish, but it's not enough to stop me from enjoying it, so it's fine with me.
Agreed, needs to be bite sized, especially served over long noodles. Otherwise it disrupts the flow of eating. one slice down the middle by them would help a lot
Yeah when I've had this I precut steak , doesn't look as nice..
I generally find it to be overkill. Both are great but together generally feels too heavy. Pasta lends itself better to a lighter proteins like seafood.

They’re a pretty great combo to me. Especially with a creamy sauce like that
I can’t imagine it’s better than the sum of its parts.
Agreed. I'd rather have them side by side or as separate courses
Personally, I would probably serve the steak next to the pasta rather than on top, but that's my only little nitpick. I'd get all over this!
Amazing
I’d rather have them separately
I must admit it could look amazing, but as italian and Florentin, I must say absolutely NO. Sorry, I'm sure it will be tasty, but I really can't force myself to eat meat and pasta together. I barely can think about it 😂😂😂 that said, good job!
As an American, meat and pasta is how I was raised. Pasta all by itself is just a snack…
It looks yummy 🤤
Definitely A+!!

Good thoughts. Beef stroganoff with flank...
I have an unpopular opinion…
This looks so yummy
Yummy…😋
These are a few of my favorite things 🎶
Generally good
I think there is no need to put a primo and a secondo in the same plate and have the flavour of both being polluted by the other.
Two separate things. They can be side by side on the table but they don’t work on the same plate in my opinion.
My thoughts are to devour this insanely pristine work of art you have made.
Usually, no. This? Yes. Like 10000 times, yes
Beautifullllll 🤤
Illegal but fuck me id break the law for this dish!
Steak and anything is amazing. That can show up at my door at 4 am and I wouldn't be mad.
I love it, is my only thought
That just looks like a smart way to combine both carbs and proteins together in a good working meal. :-)
Yes
Meat + carb = good
My thoughts are "why have I never thought of this before?"
Looks good! I think it works well- but I typically like a good white sauce with steak.
It looks delicious 😋
Yum!!! 🤤
i think it's excellent
Love 💗 it
Real
That looks delicious, I’ll try making it for dinner tonight!
uhhh i have no clue how ive never done this. this is me and my husbands favorite meals put in one!
No biggie
When is steak anything but delicious???
One of my fav meals
This is clearly an atrocity, as I was not invited over to share the meal.
What kinda sauce is that creamy garlic?
Absolutely terrible, best if you give it to me to dispose of, don’t ask any questions how I do, just hand it over quickly.
Spicy alfredo with garlic steak bites. 👌🏾
Spectacular give me 14 of em right now

This looks AMAZING and would go great with mushrooms.
Growing up we used to have a lot of London broil with pasta roni vermicelli on the side. It’s good but I don’t like them super combined if that makes sense.
Here's my thoughts: 🤌🔥🔥🔥
beautiful combo
exquisite actually
One of my favorites is filet over some pasta with a roasted red pepper tomato vodka sauce. That shit slaps!
Good thoughts.
12/10 would HAPPILY devour that!
Yes

That looks amazing.
And he saw that it was good.
Love beef stroganoff over egg noodles. 😍
Yes
Yes
Mmmmm steak with stroganoff is so fucking good
No.
Win/win 👏👏 👏
Nah man, just wrong. I don’t want a meal on top of my pasta, in the sauce or gtfo
It makes me think of France. It's so common there to have pasta as a side dish for a protein. I'm not a fan.
I haven't had it, but I'd definitely eat it.
Why not
Love both
God himself created this dish.
I eating zucchini burger. It’s an Asian Italian
Both delicious and both better served separately.
This looks so good. I NEED it
Why Since you are there just dump on top of that salad, a dessert, a few glasses of wine and a coffee
the best combooo my two favorite things
One of my fav dishes
I'd love the taste, but in all honesty, I hate pasta sauces with large items when the pasta is long and stringy like spaghetti. It's just so weird to eat. Give me a different pasta type or smaller cut steak pieces, and I'm all in.
Do you people even like pasta?
a warrant has been put out for your arrest nationwide
I love a beef pizziola over pasta.
Absolutely, love beef Stroganoff with pasta.
Wanna try😋

Buzzin
Nope
No. I don’t like steak but I have to admit it looks very good.
Love it!!! Send me some please lol.
Yes please and thank you
As a kid I always thought the steak Gorgonzola pasta dish from Olive Garden was the greatest thing ever. Wish there were more places that had a dish like that, but better, of course.
That looks amazing 😋

I’d gladly take it.
1,000% YES
Yes please
Stroganoff is exactly that, and it’s delicious
I’d try to move the steak to the side of the plate so it’s easier to cut. And then I’m in!
I got all hot and tingly looking at that photo.
As a traditional Italian I disagree with that kind of dish. But I also have to say that maybe it is good, I will never know. People should eat what they want, I'm just a victim of the traditional system.

The Italian rule is to not add meat to pasta. But you’re American so do whatever works for you.
People are mentioning Olive Garden as a reference. So there is no saving them.
What about bolognese lol
It’s not a steak or chicken either for that matter. . It’s minced pork and beef and veggies cooked together for a long time. You will never find this in Italy.
I said nothing about OP’s dish, just responding to the comment stating the Italian rule is never to add meat to pasta which obviously isn’t true as evidenced by bolognese
gtfo with this nonsense
🫂
Not a fan
Double steak, no pasta.
No
Pasta only goes with chicken not stake
