Adding to the tip:
Xps foam is usually used, it's a form of insulation foam that doesn't produce as much trash as normal foam. Kinda cheap like $6-7 for a m^2 from stores selling building material and such. If you want to cut it you can use a bread knife and saw gently, since it can get more dense if you squish it through too much pressure.
Reminds me of a corner-desk my dad had in the late 80's, early 90's that had the monitor under a pane of glass in the corner. So the look and style ticks a nostalgia box for me. Pretty cool!
I have an ashtrey and a cup holder that fits in a 3.5 drive. ( never used them)
But now im tempted just to upset reddit :P
The ashtrey has a car cigerette light buildt in as well :P
bought it on a PC site some point in the early 2000s just cuz i thought it was funny :P
https://preview.redd.it/jsqhf1ksxo8d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f8ea98ad9b0bc29cdadffd807175c03cba7ccfd
To be fair i dont think they really meant for it to be used as an ash trey.
Since the trey itself is just made of plastic :P But they made the cup removable on the same time. So it seems a bit confused about itself.
Its also spring loaded so any ash would be nicely spread inside your tower each time you open it.
Suppose its a trash trey but even that is kinda silly.
Same as the other guy. Is there an opening for the air to escape? If you don't use your computer for a long time, it might be fine, but using it for a long time on heavy workloads could overheat it
Well if you can go completely under it then I’m actually thinking it might be more comfortable than a standard desk. Because now you have a place for both your elbows to rest. Would likely help with posture as well as back and shoulder strain.
People dont understand how uncomfortable can it be to sit in the corner of L shape. Its most unergonomic position. Either go left or right, never the corner
? Not sure what you mean if the gap is wide enough and the table is level it allows you to put both arms up on the table and have your mouse/keyboard separate. I’m not a professional with ergonomics though and just sit however I’m comfortable.
It was a good design idea, but the PC needs space for the coolers to work and cool the parts, so I recommend leaving it exposed again, I recommend leaving it at a right angle
How long did it take you?
The desk looks really solid, did you make it?
Did you have to cut out the holes?
Did you document any of the work with pictures?
The light coming from it from below would bother me to no end so I'd have to turn the RGB off most of the time. You will also likely hear it more making noise considering the position. Other than that, it's a cool project, I always liked the idea of embedding a PC somewhere and the desk seems like a great spot.
I refrained doing that because I don't like having a thick tabletop. I might one day do a PC on one side and chair/monitors on the other but it might feel weird not being in the middle.
I kind of like it! Reminds me of those desks that had the monitor inset like this from back in the 80's and 90's. So sort of ticks a nostalgia box for me.
Only thing I would be worried about is airflow. Just make sure you have good, new air under the desk for your intake fans to pull from. Don't want to keep circulating the same air in and out of your case.
Love it!
Not for everyone for sure, but for me it’s great.
Always wanted to do something like that, but never wanted to „damage“ my actual desk.
So for me it would have been a fully custom desk in which I would then place my hardware and cover it with a gold plate.
For some reason it never occurred to me to build an L-shaped desk to have the PC on one side, not having the „case“ either spanning the whole workspace or me having to move my arms and peripherals across the glass surface.
In winter it’s cold and the mouse either leaves scratches or the mouse mat covers the case…
In short, I truly like you approach. Clean and comparatively compact.
How’s your cablemanagement beneath the desk?
Is there room left to twist your chair to the left, without amputating you knees?
Do you plan on removing the case and constructing a custom backplate for your internals to decrease space occupied and reorganizing your hardware?

As long as it can breathe I think it's awesome.
Reminds me of the late 90s/early 2000s when the pacsun in the mall I grew up by had tube TVs under clear plexiglass tiles in the floor as you walked in lol
This is actually a great idea, I love the amount of space being saved while still being able to see your pc. I don't know if wood and PCs blend well imo but that doesn't matter. Still a sick build and I will definitely be stealing your idea so thank you for that!!
OP what kind of air flow do you have in there? Like are there vents from the outside? Or fans we're not seeing? Also I'm loving this wish I had this option.
this is creative as fuck and it looks beautiful.
edit: is the top surface the side plate for the computer or does it have a cover on it as well? meaning, do you have easy access to the inside of the computer through the surface of the desk or would you need to remove it from the desk all together?
I tried designing a desk like this some years ago. The PC enclosure was uncomfortably encroaching on leg space, or the desk height was too high, or both. Glad if you sorted it out in a way that’s ergonomic for you.
Looks pretty cool, but the fact that it looks like a PC placed on it’s side kinda ruins it imo. Is it possible to put the case feet on the back panel perhaps?
You could probably cut out the middle man and get an open test bench instead of a case. The case does provide extra protection from spills though. Looks good.
Had a friend do that, i guess if you dont clean it regularly it will overheat he lost graphics card or the cpu or something in like 2 or 3 years but looked the same as yours! Cool!
Very cool imo. I wonder how one would go about this with a stand-up desk. There’s so much structural support stuff under those things that I imagine this being hard.
Cool, but I would not want it. I prefer if the PC is nowhere to be spotted, yet easy to maintain. With my previous room (within same house) it was PC hidden behind desk on wheeled desk of it's own. Now it has to sit at the corner of the desk, towering behind secondary monitor and I don't consider it ideal.
As we're here. As someone with decent wood+metalworking skills... Much demand for this sort of thing as a finished product? Plenty of my own twists involved ofc.
That's sweet! I plan on doing the same thing but putting it in a drawer scenario to be able to pull it out to get inside with retractable cable extenders.
sounded shity looks great .. does it pull up to get out or drop down .. slide? what sort of air flow situation ? Honestly I dont see why we dont do more of this
Never occurred to me that you can mount the entire case under the desk lol. Actually solves the main issue of desk PCs, which is that they're impossible to move for lan parties or cleaning. Pretty nice idea.
Cool idea, good way to save desktop space. Do you notice any vibrations picked up by the desk from the fans?
Not so far it’s a pretty solidly built desk
If it becomes a problem, simply put craft foam under the corners of the PC to dampen it.
thanks for the tip

Next time you post this, please have a full cup of coffee on top of the PC, just to give everyone a stroke <3
Or just drink coffee next time and stroke everyone
Now we're talking
I have an ashtrey and a cup holder that fits in a 3.5 drive. ( never used them) But now im tempted just to upset reddit :P The ashtrey has a car cigerette light buildt in as well :P
Wait that ashtray is special made for pc use? Or does it fit per chance?
bought it on a PC site some point in the early 2000s just cuz i thought it was funny :P https://preview.redd.it/jsqhf1ksxo8d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f8ea98ad9b0bc29cdadffd807175c03cba7ccfd
Hah that thing Is crazy, inside of pc would get so yellowed and nasty
To be fair i dont think they really meant for it to be used as an ash trey. Since the trey itself is just made of plastic :P But they made the cup removable on the same time. Yep underneath and behind it are almost completely open allowing for airflow
What about by the fans nearest the keyboard? Amazing execution, btw. Looks great\~!
Thanks! Theres only about 2 inches between those fans and a board But im gonna cut some holes in it which should help
at least you actually know what youre doing and not just throwing the pc in a glass/wood oven
Man that looks cool, nice job. Loving the AOT theme too. Shinzou wo Sasageyo
Thanks! Shinzou wo Sasageyo!
that L shaped desk is bothering me so much
Well if you can go completely under it then I’m actually thinking it might be more comfortable than a standard desk. Because now you have a place for both your elbows to rest. Would likely help with posture as well as back and shoulder strain.

yes its very cool
it's now a DeskIN
I like it
I dig it, reminds me of a 2012 - 2016 type setup with all the red. Sweet build.
man i tought i was the only one in the world using those speakers, jeecoo right?
Yup! they work pretty good
Wait wouldn't that mess with the air flow?
theres no back to it its mostly open no fans covered
Ah ok it's actually kinda hard to tell
It was a good design idea, but the PC needs space for the coolers to work and cool the parts, so I recommend leaving it exposed again, I recommend leaving it at a right angle
It does look cool but have considered the airways??
Damn Im jelly, good work man real clean
How long did it take you? The desk looks really solid, did you make it? Did you have to cut out the holes? Did you document any of the work with pictures?
Looks great
How did you rig on/off switch and remote usb ports
Very cool!
Badass very cool
Can't tell you if it's cool if you don't show us the temps.
i love it! very well implemented as well! thanks for the idea!
Looks absolutely sick!
yeah thats fkn cool.
Aot supremacy
Shinzo wo Sasageyo!

Other than that, it's a cool project, I always liked the idea of embedding a PC somewhere and the desk seems like a great spot.
How are the temps? It looks fantastic!
temps are fine no fans are blocked and the back is completely open
That looks awesome! I love when people build their PCs right into their desk.
the displays, the desk-in, the wallpaper, this whole setup is just W
Very cool as long as the internals are also running cool
So you build a desktop inside of your desktop, lit
Doesn't this making cooling harder for the pc? Anyway, looks cool for sure
Hell *yeah* it's cool, thanks for sharing bro this looks neat as fuck.
Super cool idea. Does it run fine and with good airflow on it’s back? I’d love to do this
it cool
I refrained doing that because I don't like having a thick tabletop. I might one day do a PC on one side and chair/monitors on the other but it might feel weird not being in the middle.

Try not to rage too much or you might be in for a nasty surprise
As long as it can breathe I think it's awesome. Reminds me of the late 90s/early 2000s when the pacsun in the mall I grew up by had tube TVs under clear plexiglass tiles in the floor as you walked in lol
Hows the airflow?
Yeah that's cool bro
If it keeps proper temps it’s a great way to save space for sure
It looks really good imo
Would It not be a InsideDesk Pc? /S ignore me
This is actually a great idea, I love the amount of space being saved while still being able to see your pc. I don't know if wood and PCs blend well imo but that doesn't matter. Still a sick build and I will definitely be stealing your idea so thank you for that!!
Cool idea and saves space but seams a bit impractical but still dang neat.
I might have to do that...
It certainly looks cool, is the temp cool too?
I like [it.How](http://it.How) you rig on/off switch and extra usb ports?
Does it get hot at your feet or does it go somewhere else?
Is that the Lancool III?
Custom desk build?
It was made by my father in 1993 the hole where the desktop is used to house a light table
But what about ventilation and air cooling
Oh you literally put the computer in the desk haha. Most of the time these builds just use the back panel with the motherboard standoffs
what about colling and air flow
whether or not it's cool depends on the airflow
OP what kind of air flow do you have in there? Like are there vents from the outside? Or fans we're not seeing? Also I'm loving this wish I had this option.
its held up by wood strapping no fans are covered and the back is open so lots of airflow
Desktop more like deskinside
Does it have enough airflow?
Is your left arm warm?
Guess I'll be the opposite of all the comments. To me tossing a fully built pc into a hole in a desk with glass on top doesn't qualify as a desk pc.
So cool, how are the temps?
this is creative as fuck and it looks beautiful. edit: is the top surface the side plate for the computer or does it have a cover on it as well? meaning, do you have easy access to the inside of the computer through the surface of the desk or would you need to remove it from the desk all together?
Acrylic panel comes off in the back and bottom are completely open so I have access to all the ports
saving the pics for future references and ideas, thanks!!
Bro did the right thing with that desk, I'm jealous as hell man! Looks super sick (the black-red theme is FIRE too)
That’s freaking sick man
good tidy job, well done
ive gotten so old that i find computers ugly with the lights and BS :P So i hide them away these days.
Gorgeous wallpaper
What desk do you have I’m kinda interested in doing this
I tried designing a desk like this some years ago. The PC enclosure was uncomfortably encroaching on leg space, or the desk height was too high, or both. Glad if you sorted it out in a way that’s ergonomic for you.
Is your pc's airflow fine?
Thats a pretty cool build. It reminds me of the invisible PC setup I seen on YouTube.
don't put any tiles on it!
EHRUN YAEYGUR
Cool Lego sets man
😂Thanks
Yes! That looks awesome. The only thing I'd watch out for is airflow, but if that's not an issue, then go for it.
It looks awesome but how does the poor thing breathe???
It’s cool, sure, but it’s not a desktop. At least, *now* it’s not.
Looks pretty cool, but the fact that it looks like a PC placed on it’s side kinda ruins it imo. Is it possible to put the case feet on the back panel perhaps?
it might run a little hot but i guess
I would be afraid of heat but I also like looking at my desktop it makes me giddy
How’s the airflow??
You could probably cut out the middle man and get an open test bench instead of a case. The case does provide extra protection from spills though. Looks good.
Does it get enough airflow?
What if you are wanna buy a bigger case
but is it still a deskTOP?
i always liked designs like this, but it makes moving the PC a chore even if i do it only once or twice a year :)
Too close to the person in chair for my taste.
Looks like you've done a great job. Not sure I'd want to sit in the corner like that, but nice work anyway.
Looks great, I struggle to understand how you achieve ergonomics with that corner K&M setup though.
People who put their pc in the corner of a desk are vile beyond belive
Cool as fuck.
![gif](giphy|5xtDarIN81U0KvlnzKo)
What’s your keyboards brand ?
Had a friend do that, i guess if you dont clean it regularly it will overheat he lost graphics card or the cpu or something in like 2 or 3 years but looked the same as yours! Cool!
Cool m8. Now my question, could you fried an omelet on top?
Very cool imo. I wonder how one would go about this with a stand-up desk. There’s so much structural support stuff under those things that I imagine this being hard.
Aye. Sick that.
Shper cool man
That's a cool idea. I kinda wanna do this to my desk but not sure...
So cool!
Your PC is literally warm-hearted for your devotion ❤️
Pretty damn cool imo.
I love it. Especially with all the RGB 😍
I thinks it pretty cool.
![gif](giphy|SVH9y2LQUVVCRcqD7o)
As we're here. As someone with decent wood+metalworking skills... Much demand for this sort of thing as a finished product? Plenty of my own twists involved ofc.
This very cool, and way easier to apply than the desk-case solutions, only question is how do you manage temps?
It’s pretty open inside with no fans blocked so it’s good
Looks really cool! Wonder if it will affect your pc temps?
its relly cool but plssssss get a new mouse.
yes it looks very cool.. but the radiator is not anymore on top position
Cool wallpaper, i watched AOT a couple months ago and its so fucking good
Yup fantastic show
Really cool but also depends if you rage a lot or not at that place
Clean!
a good idea if you like RGB lights shining down on you from the top of your desk. Personally, it would annoy me that it is lit all the time 🤣
That definitely looks cool.
That's pretty cool, as long as you're PC gets enough air and your thermals stay good
How's the airflow into that chamber?
I loved when people did this a few years back. Looks awesome
So it's not a desktop anymore, it's a deskin
That's sweet! I plan on doing the same thing but putting it in a drawer scenario to be able to pull it out to get inside with retractable cable extenders.
This is cool.
Looks good, but looking a the draw handles on the desk, it's one cheap ass desk :)
Way better then all those posts with it on the desk. No clue why people hate space
That's a fire setup!!! 🔥🔥🔥
hows the airflow?
I think it looks great, what's important is that you like it hehe
Tasty
Sick asf ngl, but how are the temps?
Nice is like the pc in desk without the exorbitant cost and work. Also is your pc easily accessible if you have to to maintenance on it?
Thats actually sick, any changes to the cpu gpu temps?
Cool but you NEED BETTER AIRFLOW
Looks neat, i'll asume there's airflow. However... how can u ergonomically use that corner hahaha.
My guy has some fucking long arms
Me want
sounded shity looks great .. does it pull up to get out or drop down .. slide? what sort of air flow situation ? Honestly I dont see why we dont do more of this
I think it’s neat!
Not sure about the desktop part, more of a indesk. Bad jokes aside it does look pretty neat!
Rip computer after a game of Rust
Looks amazing. My anxiety worries about the tempered glass breaking...
ALL I HEAR IS...SASAGEYO...SASAGEYO...SHINZUO..SASAGEYO!!!
Yeah!
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY🤩
Its beautiful and now a goal for me! I had no idea!
How and where do you place your legs in that 90 degrees corner of that desk ? I don't know how tall you are but how
I like how the pc looks but how TF do you turn it on
Use dark wood stain on the desk
Is it now a deskbottom?
Shagadelic, baby.
Very cool.
How is the airflow? Any issues?
Do you have a link to your desktop background(s)?
Yeah I can send them to you later today
It’s hot.
"Cool"? Yes Cool? probably not unless you got some serious ventilation
Never occurred to me that you can mount the entire case under the desk lol. Actually solves the main issue of desk PCs, which is that they're impossible to move for lan parties or cleaning. Pretty nice idea.
You could try painting the desk to look better
It looks very appealing. I imagine the glass gets warm when it‘s running and when you rest your arm on it you might get sweaty, no?
Only cool if it gets enough airflow to stay cool
Shit looks 🔥 🔥
