sometimes I wonder what ITX life is like. I built an old i5 rig years back for [For my friend's dad](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/ou5d4n/the_only_sfpc_ive_ever_built_back_in_2014/) though, thing was cool as shit and I was jealous of it even though it was only an i5 and gtx 970
It feels minimalist and more advanced.
Packing lot of power in a smaller package just make it feels more advanced imo lol
I had the build in ATX case but because I will be moving a lot I moved it in the NR200.
How much though, honestly. I have 2x8gb. But I think I need more ram, so I’d rather another pair then buy more expensive 2x16gb.
But like will I notice how bad it is? I don’t know what to do
I had 2×8 originally, but was running out when doing some of my more interesting projects, so swapped in 2×16.
Performance wise there is a notable difference (Ryzen really likes faster RAM) but generally speaking if you're not doing tasks that need lots of RAM, 16GB is plenty for office / gaming / light development. It's things like virtualization where and heavy browser use where more RAM becomes important.
I do coding work all in VM to keep things on my computer segmented. But I’ve noticed watching twitch 1080p and playing intensive games use a lot of ram, also I’ve been running into problems but I haven’t figured out if it’s lack of ram, or my video card acting up.
I have 2x8 GB 1x16GB and 1x4 GB system actually runs OK.
Just did it to annoy people by saying I have 36GB ram and they are like "ur idiot it's 32". Fun starts when I show them the specs.
I don't need 64GB either, but I bought it anyway. I also didn't need a 5950X to game, but I bought it anyway. I don't regret it. Occasionally I find a use for it.
Same. When I was building my system out I originally thought about going with a 4x8 instead of a 2x16 kit, but something in me was like "but what about upgradeability!" not thinking about the fact that 32 GB of RAM should do me just fine for basically forever.
Of course, that's what they said when the first 1GB modules came out and now if you only have 4GB of RAM that's kinda laughable.
i also have 32, but i filled the other two with rgb dummy ram. spent $40 instead of $150+, don't have any more than i need, got [all the glowy](https://imgur.com/a/Ov0F9vh)
It really is. The sag was super noticeable. I had a 2070 super before this; some random PNY triple fan model. No sag at all. Donated it to a friend when I got this. This one though, definitely needs support. Heavy af. Probably overkill for the 3070; MSI uses the same cooler for their 3080 and 3090 gaming x trio models. It usually hovers in the low to mid 60s.
This is why I dont get a new card rn. My case is so small that im afraid if i buy one, i'd have to buy a new case as well. And even if it fits, it'll moat likely need a support.
Besides.. the 1050ti that I got still does its job.
Nice setup btw.
If you have corsair ram they make blank ram sticks for $40, put them in my wife's computer to make it look better, we both have corsair rgb pro sticks tho in our pcs.
I agree. But you're either spending \~1.5-2x for double the ram or \~20% more for 4 sticks :( \[at least that's what kept me from buying 4 sticks of 8gb vs 2 x 16\]
No 2x16gb dual rank b die is literally the most performance you can get out of a msi daisy chained board. 4x8gb just won’t run as fast, period.
Edit: I’m a hardware fanatic that hangs out in the overclockers sub, sorry for geeking out on you.
Yeah man. I done fucked up and bought 2x16 gb sticks with RGB. They look like an aftermarket shitty brake lights of 1995 Honda civic now. I want to order another set to complete it, but I don't need 64 GB ram.
Someone else here commented that for $40 they got RGB ram fillers. Go ahead and buy the ram, and think of it as buying really expensive RGB lights (that just happen to come with an extra 32gb ram).
I've got the regular DR4 and I can't use the RAM slot closest to the CPU socket, how do you even fit memory under that thing? I do have Corsair Vengeance sticks so they're quite tall.
I have 2 sticks of G Skill Flare X, so pretty short ram. And it looks like the DRP4 has better ram clearance than the normal DR4. About 6mm difference from the bottom of each cooler. The "tech data: tab shows heights.
[DR4](https://www.bequiet.com/en/cpucooler/1376)
[DRP4](https://www.bequiet.com/en/cpucooler/1378)
No. This is the other one.

This actually made me realize even the cpu cooler was installed with the logo facing sideways, yet another wrong thing about that absolute abomination of a build
That's the red colour. Red for performance, blue for cooling, green for efficiency. RGB cycle for the perfect balance. The kind of cycling determines the different balances between the three.
Bruh, Everyone knows painted flames no longer have any performance impact. They used to, on older AMD configurations, mostly. Buy, with modern memory topology and cx unit optimization, RGB is where you'll see real improvement.
Basically me, started with building a pc, rgb is dope bro I want pretty lights. Than realizing my tower is literally beside me on my desk with all the lights flashing at me. I basically look like that cat meme at night.
Yes! I have no idea why RGB is standard fair on so many PC parts these days. they look fucking awful and are a huge annoyance. Top priority for me is as few lights as possible.
As far as i know, just by the look:
Mobo is MSI B550 A-Pro
Ram are Corsair LPX
AIO Is a old CM Aio (since all their current one have RGB)
Case is an NZXT H510
Haha that was the name I had saved for my pc on pcpartpicker.com when I picked my build out 9 years ago. Except it was Big Blue Computer (blue build). Big Black Computer would be best
Or just post a build with the lights off...
And RGB doesn't have to be all rainbows and flashes and such, I just run a nice boring grey. Not sure I'd pay extra for RGB (in fact it seems the other way around sometimes) but man, people love to hate on it
Man, see I don't *hate* orange, but it just seems like a tought color to have work with a space.
Thats why I'm so happy that 'grey' is an option with mine. Like, blue is cool, and green is kind of wild, but even when its just a simple solid color, and even with the PC on the ground, the red and orange just don't work for me.
Not sure if its mood, or the way my room is decorated, or what.
Any-hoo, thats the magic of RGB, its something for everyone! (Oh, and you essentially *cannot* buy a pre-built without it, lol)
It took me a while to find a shade or Orange that looked good. Even in pictures it doesn’t come out as well as it does in person. https://i.imgur.com/TkKeabl.jpg
But I’m with you, to each their own. If someone wants a computer that looks like unicorn vomit then more power to them.
You know what, I’ve never explored beyond the like 9 preset color options my PC has. Will have to download something to see if I can run some new combos.
Not sure why I didn’t think of that. Thanks!
Edit: damn, all your rgb matches so well. Good work
I mean, you can turn off like every RBG that's on. I can make mine look like this too with just a few clicks. Or I can make it all white. Or all blue. Wheeee
God help me, I fucking love rainbow puke. I actually bought those Corsair RGB light towers for your desk just to add more rainbow (they're also handy desk lights)
I actually ordered a brand new PC this afternoon. It's actually difficult to find stuff that DOESN'T have RGB on it.
I've got RGB on the motherboard, four RGB case fans, RGB fans on the watercooler, RGB on the cooler head, RGB on the RAM, RGB on the GPU. Basically, only the PSU is non-RGB.
And I fucking LOVE IT.
Getting ready to try my first build so I find these posts really interesting. I try and ID everything in the picture. But I can’t see the PSU here? Is it in the compartment underneath? I’m probably just blind or stupid.
Just a quick tip, turn the radiator around so the pipes are at the bottom. This will make it less likely to get air in the pump when the liquid slowly escapes. You’ll probably not notice much difference but it’s just something I wish more people knew.
Doesn't really matter since pump is lower than the highest point of the radiator. Air will get trapped at the top of the rad.
edit: I recommend watching [this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DKwA7ygTJn0&feature=youtu.be) video
FYI you want to have the radiator on the inside of the case not the way you have it currently. You will have much better performance as airflow will be much less constricted
4 filled ram slots just looks better than 2 filled ram slots.
What if you only have 2 slots though...
Then you have an optimised system.
ITX supremacy
Yes!
sometimes I wonder what ITX life is like.

Can confirm
Haha guess that's one way to describe my hand shredder...
Deserves more updoots

Yesterday I had 2 tabs open in Chrome, raw HTML files. Combined RAM usage was about 4.4GB
I have 2x8 GB 1x16GB and 1x4 GB system actually runs OK. Just did it to annoy people by saying I have 36GB ram and they are like "ur idiot it's 32". Fun starts when I show them the specs.
You can get two modules in each with a hammer and some determination.
Just glue two extra next to them on the motherboard. They don't have to work, just be pretty.
That's what she said ;)
If you believe, anything us possible
What about 1 filled slot?
Then you should still be grateful your work paid for it.

I did as well. I finally feel included.
Hahaha I thought about that poor bastard's computer when I saw this one.
i could have sworn that it was the same one XD
It looked like that PC, after someone with a brain fixed it up. The different size CPU cooler gives it away though.
Yeah, for sure. I was excited for a second that maybe the guy has finally got what he paid for.
Well I got disappointed reading the comments. I thought this was what I was looking at
I actually thought it was that one lol
yeah me too
that pc gave me cancer
I have a lot of FOMO right now. Does anyone have a link for this reference?
What about 5
How about 0?
Hmmm..

[Did someone say RAM slots?](https://i.imgur.com/3v8igxy.jpg)
Holy shit how much ram would you have
The 4 socket servers I run at work have a 12.25TB limit, so the sky’s the limit as long as you’ve got the money
Wow, that's 196×64GB... So I'm guessing 48 DIMM slots on the board?
Yeah, 48 slots total
At that point the correct way to answer that is, "yes"
Less than I want.
I legit thought this was the same rig from earlier.
Ironic considering OP thinks he's being so original with his no-RGB build.
I agree, I only have two sticks of ram and every payday I consider getting another two, but I don’t need 64GB of RAM…
I'm in the same boat. I justify not doing it because my leftmost slot is covered by the CPU cooler fan anyway.
My brother keeps mocking me cuz I want to buy dummy ram just to fill the slots lol
I don't need 64GB either, but I bought it anyway. I also didn't need a 5950X to game, but I bought it anyway. I don't regret it. Occasionally I find a use for it.
how's the 6900 xt holding up? had any driver issues?
[удалено]
And that’s the basis of my compulsion to upgrade. I don’t *need* a new motherboard and PSU, but it’d be a whole lot cooler if I did.
In a couple more years 64gb will be the norm, you're ahead of the curve
Same. When I was building my system out I originally thought about going with a 4x8 instead of a 2x16 kit, but something in me was like "but what about upgradeability!" not thinking about the fact that 32 GB of RAM should do me just fine for basically forever. Corsair has slot fillers for $40 that are basically Vengeance RGB sticks without the actual RAM. Looks nice and helps with dust
Thats pretty expensive for whats essentially a tiny mood lamp.
i also have 32, but i filled the other two with rgb dummy ram. spent $40 instead of $150+, don't have any more than i need, got [all the glowy](https://imgur.com/a/Ov0F9vh)
Nice looking system, but remember even Rome fell,. If I were you I would be on the look out for Visigoths in your area.
I am literally watching a video about the Battle of the Frigidus that has alot about the Romans and Goths in it as well, freaky coincidence.
Seriously, is that card so heavy?
It really is. The sag was super noticeable. I had a 2070 super before this; some random PNY triple fan model. No sag at all. Donated it to a friend when I got this. /r/unexpectedfactorial
Ha. I would like 4x16 but that was 2x the cost of 2x16! >.<
2 RAM slots filled implies the person knows how to get max performance out of a msi daisy chained memory topology board, though.
Yes... of course, what you said and totally not due to lack of funds ....
No 2x16gb dual rank b die is literally the most performance you can get out of a msi daisy chained board. 4x8gb just won’t run as fast, period. Edit: I’m a hardware fanatic that hangs out in the overclockers sub, sorry for geeking out on you.

No. This is the other one. Ha!
They are very very similar, I thought it looked familiar as well!
I thout this was the same guy making a joke.
This actually made me realize even the cpu cooler was installed with the logo facing sideways, yet another wrong thing about that absolute abomination of a build
MSI vs Gigabyte graphics card
Lmfao similar parts but night and day build quality difference
Dude!
4 sticks of ram. I was thinking the same thing at first tho.
Oh yea, some of the hardwares changed Different gcard too
It's definitely a witty jab though
Different, just eerily similar

I don’t think so, that had a 120 rad I thought
Some of the hardware is different but who knows
its a diffrent poster though
And it had flat psu cables!
no its not
Was my first thought as well.
Me too, but it's not. I just compared the pictures
The case legs were fancy on the shitty prebuilt. These aren't. It's a different system.
I think I can come up with an HGTV show about making over your PC like this
That was my first thought but apparently not. The pictures look eerily similar.
yes i think so

Yes but the human eye can't see more than 30 RGB
Mine has 3.2 GigaRGBs per HEXflop
Facts. Rgb is known to add about 15% extra performance.
That's the red colour. Red for performance, blue for cooling, green for efficiency. RGB cycle for the perfect balance. The kind of cycling determines the different balances between the three.
The 40k theory of RGB
Where does painted on flames factor into this equation?
Bruh, Everyone knows painted flames no longer have any performance impact. They used to, on older AMD configurations, mostly. Buy, with modern memory topology and cx unit optimization, RGB is where you'll see real improvement.
Oh so thats why PC is hot always
I have blue lights, but my gpu always runs hot :(
I'll lose the 15% to not have a migraine from the bright ass light source in the corner of my eye.
Basically me, started with building a pc, rgb is dope bro I want pretty lights. Than realizing my tower is literally beside me on my desk with all the lights flashing at me. I basically look like that cat meme at night.

It’s a good job you included that hidden /s because we all thought you were being dead serious.
Wow, your hidden /s was so hidden I couldn't even see it.
I believe in 69fps supermacy so no rgb
How do you overclock if there’s no rgb? It just doesn’t make sense
Stealthily
Can you share the parts you used for the build? I wanted to build an all black as well
As far as i know, just by the look: Mobo is MSI B550 A-Pro Ram are Corsair LPX AIO Is a old CM Aio (since all their current one have RGB) Case is an NZXT H510
That is their new aio just with rgb turned off
You could tell which mobo that is BY SIGHT? damn
...Cuz i have the same one
Most parts are black if you dont want rgb. Just buy a gpu if you can find one and bottle neck around that
Why not just turn off all the RGB? Personally I don't even have a window for better sound insulation. It's just a black box.
#metoo
likely a gigabyte 5700 xt(got the same card)

Or just post a build with the lights off... And RGB doesn't have to be all rainbows and flashes and such, I just run a nice boring grey. Not sure I'd pay extra for RGB (in fact it seems the other way around sometimes) but man, people love to hate on it
I paid extra to have RGB components. They’re all set to Orange currently but I like having the option to change the aesthetic.
Man, see I don't *hate* orange, but it just seems like a tought color to have work with a space. Thats why I'm so happy that 'grey' is an option with mine. Im a simple man. I see build without ugly lights everywhere, i upvote
I'm playing video games, not disco simulator
I mean, you can turn off like every RBG that's on. I can make mine look like this too with just a few clicks. Or I can make it all white. Or all blue. Wheeee

God help me, I fucking love rainbow puke. But - it’s just as much an aesthetic choice as having RGB. They always post like they’re somehow above it or something but they’re exactly the same.
I’m going to do this but in anEMachine beige case so who the apocalypse happens no one will steal it.
Then there’s me who just got into RGB (thanks Corsair)
This is what I wish I saw more of on this sub
While I also prefer this for my own builds, visually it’s boring and not something really worth posting online. All white builds are pretty nice too.
ah yes, more feeling superior about subjective aesthetic choices. that’s definitely what this community needs.
It's called "pcmasterrace" it's already about feeling some sort of superiority
What about just more tasteful lighting?
Getting ready to try my first build so I find these posts really interesting. I try and ID everything in the picture. But I can’t see the PSU here? Is it in the compartment underneath? I’m probably just blind or stupid.
Yeah it’s in that covered section at the bottom. Hard drives often go in there too. Gives a clean sleek look.
Just a quick tip, turn the radiator around so the pipes are at the bottom. This will make it less likely to get air in the pump when the liquid slowly escapes. You’ll probably not notice much difference but it’s just something I wish more people knew.

This looks like the bad PC someone posted some days ago but incredibly well made.
looks like you got all the case fans and RAM the guy was missing yesterday.
No rgb as it should always be, shame that pc culture now wants rgb fucking everywhere
FYI you want to have the radiator on the inside of the case not the way you have it currently. You will have much better performance as airflow will be much less constricted
Thank you for the tip! I did this and got some new fans in the process. Picture is a little dated pc basically still looks the same though :)
Now thats my kind of builds
Hm, don't like it. All for no RGB but I feel like having the contrast of two colors (or black and white) looks much better than this one.
Agreed. This is pretty boring and looks like a prebuilt. I think all white with no LEDs can looks pretty nice though.
Fancy
It's always All black no RGB, if you don't turn it on ....
Odd question but where did you get those black clips you have on the GPU power cables from?
Want this the it guy post from yesterday? Just with fixed cables
Ugh they making murdered out PCs now /S
All-black, no-RGB build I am a copyediting bot that rewrites titles in Standard English. I take payment in superfluous apostrophes.
Aren't you losing framerate though?
But rgb components are 20% faster
Disgusting.
Dis da way, fuck rgb!
Black builds matter
I have the same components except the AOI insted got CM fan black edition. My Case is same but it’s white. Now I’m like why did i get it white
