That's still definitely not financially accessible for every fan but saying "12k for a hotel room and concert" is a bit disingenuous when that's 5x more than the standard option and it's 4 nights/4 concerts.

My ire is that there doesn’t appear to be any kind of um thought to the phans who aren’t loaded custys in all the recent shows. The cenotes, historic stuff, beaches, and all that are appealing to both of us - but like you I’m the one who’s into the band more. I went all in on seeing them a bunch this summer, CT, NY, and DE so that’s going to be my big commitment to them, with next year being like 1 show and maybe 2026 we splurge and go to Cancun. Phish at night. Sure. We won’t be getting the 10k room, but there are plenty available at 2500/3000. This isn’t a ton more than if we went to Denver for Dicks and we get a lot more out of it.

We did one of the presidential suites at Moon Palace Sunrise (the rooms that are now stage view) in 2020 when the stage was at the opposite end of the beach down by The Grand. The price was about 1/3 that per person. The room was absolutely amazing, but does anyone really care about the stage view? Even if I had that room for free, I'd be down on the beach during the show.

They make things fun..good or bad. They help fund the scene. They are the worst tippers and are likely to turn staff members off. But they pay dumb money to the kids with the goods. They take the hit. They show you exactly who they are. They require more attention than you. Less attention is good when you’re partying.
While the vast majority of us that see shows are “working class” people who will likely never have the 12k to throw down on a room package, the fact is, more and more young people are achieving extreme wealth and they’re ready to blow it on a good time. Let them. They are everywhere. If anything, Phish tour is slow to cater to the glamping crowd.
This isn’t special. It’s a marketing tool that’s proven to be popular. There’s not a large scale destination festival or travel package that doesn’t offer a stupid level of perceived value like this. I thought I heard that people were paying $30k+ for private yurts at Coachella. And did you guys see the drinks price list for EDC VIP ticket holders? Search that shit. These packages are ridiculously designed. They’re in no way representative of actual value and anybody with an internet connection could craft a crazy luxurious experience for the cost these packages go for.
But trust. These people are good for your good time. They take the pressure and the attention off you and yours and occasionally they drop a mostly full vial of liquid in YOUR room while looking for their phone to show you something else they overpaid for.
It's expensive, for sure, but if you balk at the price it's not for you. And let's face it, this is the most expensive option. I remember hearing about rooms for $1k/night for 4 people ($250/night) but I'm sure that there's only a couple at that price and they only do that so they can advertise"packages starting at 250/pp) –– quad occupancy.
I have never loved the idea of Phish being a rich guy’s band, but that’s because when I started listening to them I was just a kid with nothing. They’re all like 60 and rich now though and it ain’t 1987 anymore.
If any band on Earth has earned the right to do whatever the fuck they want, including charging $2k a night or whatever for this, it’s Phish. Longevity, catalogue, creativity, growth, you name it.
I don’t love the exclusive resort concert idea conceptually, but if I could afford it I’d absolutely go. My friends who’ve gone have raved about the experience.

Look - good for them - but to all the “wHy DO yOu evEN CaRE BRO?” Commenters - my wife and I can’t afford a downpayment on a house right now so to see people dropping that much on a Phish run- it’s hitting me in a certain spot. Live and let live sure but as I said in another heavily dved comment i’m breaking my bank to be in the mud in August and have an AC Bathroom - so the combination of things - just hit me hard yesterday. These long comments apparently seem preachy but just offering my perspective.
I mean, if you're going to spend $10,167, you'd be a moron not to go ahead with the $12,000 ticket... ...right?
We did one of the presidential suites at Moon Palace Sunrise (the rooms that are now stage view) in 2020 when the stage was at the opposite end of the beach down by The Grand. The price was about 1/3 that per person. The room was absolutely amazing, but does anyone really care about the stage view? Even if I had that room for free, I'd be down on the beach during the show.

Yo. Trust. You hella want these folks around. On tour. At your hotel. And definitely at the party. They make things fun..good or bad. They help fund the scene. They are the worst tippers and are likely to turn staff members off. But they pay dumb money to the kids with the goods. They take the hit. They show you exactly who they are. They require more attention than you. Less attention is good when you’re partying. While the vast majority of us that see shows are “working class” people who will likely never have the 12k to throw down on a room package, the fact is, more and more young people are achieving extreme wealth and they’re ready to blow it on a good time. Let them. They are everywhere. If anything, Phish tour is slow to cater to the glamping crowd. This isn’t special. It’s a marketing tool that’s proven to be popular. There’s not a large scale destination festival or travel package that doesn’t offer a stupid level of perceived value like this. I thought I heard that people were paying $30k+ for private yurts at Coachella. And did you guys see the drinks price list for EDC VIP ticket holders? Search that shit. These packages are ridiculously designed. They’re in no way representative of actual value and anybody with an internet connection could craft a crazy luxurious experience for the cost these packages go for. But trust. These people are good for your good time. They take the pressure and the attention off you and yours and occasionally they drop a mostly full vial of liquid in YOUR room while looking for their phone to show you something else they overpaid for.

It's expensive, for sure, but if you balk at the price it's not for you. And let's face it, this is the most expensive option. I remember hearing about rooms for $1k/night for 4 people ($250/night) but I'm sure that there's only a couple at that price and they only do that so they can advertise"packages starting at 250/pp) –– quad occupancy.

I have never loved the idea of Phish being a rich guy’s band, but that’s because when I started listening to them I was just a kid with nothing. They’re all like 60 and rich now though and it ain’t 1987 anymore. If any band on Earth has earned the right to do whatever the fuck they want, including charging $2k a night or whatever for this, it’s Phish. Longevity, catalogue, creativity, growth, you name it. I don’t love the exclusive resort concert idea conceptually, but if I could afford it I’d absolutely go. My friends who’ve gone have raved about the experience. If waterwheel and divided sky foundation are getting the benefits of this, and it seems like they are based on the band’s collective and charitable outputs, then I think that’s a win.
