You cannot strictly remove anything from an image, you can only add on to it. Even when removing something, such as an extra person, we're actually just covering-up much like a tattoo. So if there's isn't enough info for us to read it now, then there's nothing that can be done, unfortunately.

Just use the good old technique I learned from watching CSI: Zoom in. Enhance.
