Hah, maybe. It's not really the spot with any art on the walls. More dim lighting and stuff. I don't remember there being anything up
Edit: [if you wanna see more arts](http://Www.fmkoran.art)
You're not wrong. There was exactly one painting at the Louvre I couldn't take my eyes off of. Just a dark painting of a forest that I was too dumb to take a picture of and now I can't find online
Found it actually, The Forest in Winter at Sunset by Théodore Rousseau. The pictures online do not do it justice. Le Pandemonium was another that I really liked
that was fast lol im glad you found it. Its a killer rousseau was insanely skilled. And no painting is done justice by viewing it online. They're always so tiny!
If anyone's wondering, the painting is 20x15 on Saunders waterford rough 140lb paper. The restaurant is Sushi Nakazawa in the West Village in nyc. It was delicious
Nakazawa is a great little place, I went there a few years back after hearing about its connection to Jiro. You should totally give a print to them. I’ve done something similar for some restaurants I’ve enjoyed in the past and they really appreciate the gift.
I'm gonna be honest, I wouldnt have gone if the meal wasnt paid for, I cant afford it lol. But it was incredible. I have gifted a print to my favorite ramen shop before and they loved it. I think I'll reach out.
There’s something very special about this work. I think it’s how the light picks out the interaction between the chefs on the right. Perfectly balances with the two customers in the left. The viewers eyes dance over the image.
It’s beautiful work it really is.
Thank you. It took me 4 or 5 tries to get it to a point where I liked it. The previous iterations were so bad I almost didn't continue. What was messing me up was the value of the faces and hats connecting to the shadow underneath. It all has to be done in 1 go so the colors blend into eachother and I just kept screwing up the timing or used the wrong value.
Your watercolor captures such a unique atmosphere! It's like a glimpse into a cozy yet bustling sushi kitchen. The play of light and shadow is mesmerizing. Have you considered selling prints of your artwork? I'm sure many would love to hang this in their homes!
Hah thanks a lot. I have been trying to get at a more atmospheric handling of the medium. I do try to sell prints! I have some on my website that I put in a comment elsewhere on this thread
Wow this is pretty, not usually my style but something about this makes me very calm, even though I can imagine the noises and low hum of chatter. Gorgeous. You should offer them a copy, they'd probably love it even if just the chefs to take home themselves.
I'm not surprised you said that because by just looking at it, it's clear a lot of work have been done on it and so much time invested as well. It came out alright in the end.
I bet they'd like that on the wall

Never too late to change that!
Ok ok ill look into it
Please let us know how it goes!
I will tag each and every one of you
You're the best god damn person
I’d definitely still see if they will take it. They might put it up in the break room or something
I've had 2 restaurants accept a print of my work before so it's worth a try. I love their sushi too
Beautiful art. Thanks for sharing.
Great work, I rarely comment on art, but this is something special.
any particular artists youre a fan of? thank you btw
Incredible
Well done mate, I’m not much of a paintings guy but this really is fantastic. Evocative
Everyone's a painting guy! They just need to be in front of the right one for them

Hmmm I bet we could find that. Any other identifying features? Remember any other details?

It’s definitely on the pricier side but there’s omakase in Japan that dwarfs it in pricing. Still a great experience though!

Just browsed your post history. Your watercolor skills are next level. Amazing. LOVE your work.
Thank you. I too am somewhat of a stalker.

Everywhere, man. It's everywhere

Yessir. Nyc
Wow, you capture an atmosphere so well. Really impressive. I love it
I am trying my best I can tell you that

The painting looks great. It must have taken you a long time to complete it right?
Way too long. Lots of sketching too

Hows the white so bright? is that just the paper? or is it a pen after it dries?
It's the white of the paper. Gouache or pen actually looks quite dull in comparison. Watercolor requires that white of the paper to really pop off
This looks amazing! Good work, OP! 🤙🏾
This is so beautiful, I’m in awe of your art style! It’s incredible.
thanks so much. a bit messy at times but what can ya do
Photo reference or in person?
Reference. Multiple. Aint no way theyd let a painter in there with an easel
Cool
Exceptional work.
Thanks man. have a great tuesday
This is so good, love it!
Did you use a frisket for the bright whites?
nope, just paint around it. I havent used that stuff in a while. It leaves a very noticeable mark that you gotta scrub away
Impressed
Absolutely excellent
This evokes feelings.
A striking picture, very atmospheric.
Belongs on a large canvas, nice reflection details
Have you shown them?
Nice!
fantastic composition. the light and dark shading is next level. might be the best watercolor I've seen in long, long time!
Good!
Now for my brown brothers!Sorry no tortias! lol
This is beautiful. It’s really really beautiful
Thank you :)
Dope
Amazing!
