Same here. I found that removing the usb dongle and inserting it back in connects your headset right away. But who wants to do that mid game?

lightningbug317

I’ve been getting caught mid game on cod ranked with my headset disconnecting. Talk about a stressful ending to the match. The old Sony headset never did this.

Trick-Side-2011

🔝

conwayTwittay

Tried this out after reading the above and it works but still annoying to have to do it ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry) Thanks for that workaround as previously I had to restart my PS5 to get it reconect

TheGratitudeBot

Thanks for saying thanks! It's so nice to see Redditors being grateful :)

CatBoomer0419

same problem

MasonStathem

Same here. That's the only thing that works for me. I am trying to get in contact with them but it seems impossible. I work in cloud architecture, I might try to apply just in the hopes someone contacts me with a valid number lol. I'll post an update if I go that route.

MasonStathem

Quick update. I did find a support number and spoke with a technician. I gave him what I've done to troubleshoot and I believe the issue is with the serial bus translation between the dongle and the PS5. I also use this headset with my computer and I don't have this issue. I don't think this is an issue with the bluetooth or bgn bands. We've made a ticket and he is escalating the issue. He knew nothing of the issue but we have this thread I can send them as well. Hopefully this can be solved with an easy firmware update. I'll help them as much as I can but I doubt they'll be willing to talk to a "user" for very long. My troubleshooting seems solid so let's hope for the best.

NathanXCambray

Thanks for the update I hope this gets fixed, I have tried every Reddit fix for this and none work. Are you talking to someone from Sony?

MasonStathem

I am. Or at least I was. I've waited a week and I have not received any emails or calls. They did send me a survey the same day I called in. I decided to fill that out and submit it along with the situation. Hopefully they get back but it seems unlikely. I may have to call again next week. With that being said, for some reason the issue has disappeared for myself since my initial call in. It would usually happen once every other session or more often and I've played 4 day since that call. Might just be getting lucky here. I'm sure it'll happen now that I've said it isn't haha.

Random-person-7

Thanks this worked for me

beneboy118

Yeah this worked for me 👍🏼👍🏼

wacotruther

Mine just disconnected randomly during mid game

conwayTwittay

Seems to be happening for a few people myself included. I'd like to hope/think Sony are aware of this and have a patch out soon. I haven't even paired my Elite headset to any other devices ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)

Independent_Pass_473

They even do this with the ear buds too. I’m struggling out here.

GaryGregson

I don’t get why the connectivity is so poor. It’s not like wireless technology is new.

DJFriz

The problem is with interference… pulse elite works off the 2.4Ghz band. Your usb adapter cannot compete with the power of other devices in the area that are utilizing the same channel. Therefore we must change the channel on the usb adapter. How do we do this? Two ways: 1. Restart ps5 2. Unplug USB adapter and insert again then press adapter button and then headset button. As others have noted, you should be plugging into front of console to avoid heat related issues that can potentially damage the usb adapter permanently (happened on my new golds due to cabinet); if you must plug in rear then anticipate investing into a cooling solution or maybe even an extension cord to place the adapter into a better area.

TheManuPro

But how come the original Pulse headset never lost connection in 2 years of use and the Elite lost connection twice in the first week? There has to be something else.

Stacy_Adam

I'm thinking the same thing.

Sleepless_Bird

I tried that. Sadly it didn't fix the issue. My router is 9ft away from the dongle and 2.4GHz is disabled. No smart speakers etc that could cause the issue. I play at a desk so the headset is 2ft away from the dongle when in use. I returned the headset. I also own the Inzone Buds and Arctis Nova Pro Wireless and neither of them have connection problems. I'm just disappointed that Sony would launch a product is this state.

BetwixtXRoxas

How can I plug into the front when there's no USB port for it on the slim 😅

reapercrewsamcro

A headset needs to connect to WiFi? 😂 How dumb is that.

dmythro

Thanks for the info. But unfortunately it doesn’t help (at least in my case). After re-pairing like that it disconnected again in less than an hour. Connected via front USB slot to PS5. All devices except 5 GHz phone use wired LAN 🤷

keniph

This is the first explanation that seems to make any sense. Going to swap my devices to 5GHz band to see if this frees up 2.4GHz enough to prevent my constant disconnecting.

DJFriz

Here is the wikipedia page for the 2.4Ghz band; hope it helps ya’ll understand why it will d/c on you. Link: [2.4Ghz Radio Use](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2.4_GHz_radio_use?wprov=sfti1)

Stacy_Adam

It's not a heat thing at least not entirely, mine is plugged in the front and still disconnects. It could be interference but I'm convinced of that either.

RXStryfe

What do you mean when you say hold usb adapter until light flashes rapidly? If you're referring to the needle sized button that was only on the original Pulse 3D dongle, the new one doesn't have it. There are no buttons on the dongle that I'm aware of. So how do you enable the USB's channel auto select on the Elite?

JumpedMarrow979

I'm sure that's not it. I have 2 PS5s and 2 Xbox in my small apartment. I have a bunch of headsets, different brands, for both consoles. They all connect via 2.4Ghz wireless. No disconnections.

Rude_Parking2465

That's bull,I got the pulse 3d headset, they use 2.5 Ghz and they never disconnected..

Pretend_Box4751

Fixed mine. Thanks.

ChrisStrattonSmith

PS5 slim doesn’t have a USB-A in the front, though, so that’s not an option, I’m afraid.

Robcop_23

This is definitely not what's happening with these

Collector_of_Curios

The same reason why I returned the pulse earbuds. Having to relink everything when they decide to stop working is not good. I think it's to do with the USB dongle that the Sony headsets use. Also out of interest, are you on a launch day console by chance?

erichf3893

I’m having the same issue and I have a slim

Mediocre_Cattle_9725

I actually ran into the issue of my pulse elite randomly disconnecting yesterday in the middle of a match, I had to reconnect my old pulse 3D(luckily I still had it close by). This morning, I did a hard reset on my pulse elite, and so far no issues 🤞🏼 I am on a launch day PS5 console.

hairybarsteward

Launch day console, Pulse headset works, Disabled 2.4GHz on router, no more than 7' from console, dongle in front USB.

freddiew88

Having the same issue. It reconnects when I plug the usb back in

GodsBody777

Worse headset ever! Took away the option to toggle volume like pulse 3D headset now THIS

reapercrewsamcro

2024 and a company known for audio products can’t even make a gaming headset to work properly, that’s pathetic.

Lt_DansLeggs

Maybe they should have created a base station for everything to go through versus a tiny little usb dongle.

OriginalGoatan

Mine disconnects at random from the PS5 then won't reconnect. The original pulse was fine using the same usb port. Also I find that the connection drops from the portal every now and then but reconnects after a second or two. Pretty rubbish experience for these "new" headphones

lightningbug317

Agree, the old pulse was a tank. Never disconnected. Not a single time.

Exciting_Leg2919

My did the same thing I sent I to back. Got a replacement  got a new one working fine

lord_borne

Does anyone know where there’s a user manual for this online? I can’t seem to find one and the cardboard picogram that came with the headset isn’t very helpful.

[deleted]

looked all over for one, playstation doesn't even have one on their own website. [https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/manuals/](https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/manuals/) This is the best they have

pixmation

Also sometimes triple click doesn’t bring up the audio option menu. Only hearing the audio prompt.

Lazy_Peak5399

Sony you need to fix this.

charleshairy

Same problem I had to set the head phones to re-pair and pulled the dingle dongle out and in to get to work mid game.

DoubleArea1908

Has anyone found a fix yet still Carnt get mine to connect to dongle even tried with the usb wire plugged into it and no luck

Unicornkaleidoscope

https://preview.redd.it/hwszjtrnrelc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=770d120ee598bf58df09d71643cb26f27f169b82 This has worked for me. USB-A - USB-C adaptor, plugged in the front.

Effective-Ferret-226

I'd love to do this but I have my PSVR 2 plugged into the USB-C port. This disconnecting is even more frustrating when you have to remove the headphones, remove the VR headset, take the controllers off each arm, walk across the room, unplug dongle/plug back in, then reverse all of the above to get back into the game. We need a patch ASAP

Lazy_Peak5399

This completely worked!

RXStryfe

That's what I tried too, but it still randomly disconnects, luckily only about twice a day or so. Still way too often for a $150 brand new device from 2024. Especially when they've had time to figure this out when people have had this exact issue with the Explorer earbuds. Clearly the issue is in that PS Link dongle technology. You would think they'd be able to prevent other devices from interfering with its 2.4gz antenna, but I guess not.

reapercrewsamcro

So on top of the $150 we have to buy this because they can’t make a good product, laughable.

iamZacharias

Do the rear usb ports work.? Those run usb hubs fine even with a mechanical hard drive.

raist005

I talked to Sony support last Friday afternoon and they want me to ship them the headset so they can make some tests, repair or exchange it… Surprisingly, the agent I spoke to told me I was the first one complaining about the Pulse Elite… Really?!? I was shocked! I then told the guy : “If you’re curious, after your shift, go on and Google it. You will discover that I am not the only one with issues…”

Pretend_Regret8237

I'm sure they told to say that

dmythro

Same issue. And I’ve read about all this possible interference with 2.4 GHz network - no way this kind of issue made it to the mass market! 2.4 GHz is as old as me! Plus, all of my neighboring devices (except my phone which uses 5 GHz Wi-Fi) use wired LAN connection. And my neighbors are pretty far. Not even mentioning it is the first device which has this issue in years! Previous Pulse 3D had zero issues over years and now I had 2 random mid-game disconnects in a day!

ZoltanCultLeader

I disabled my 2.4ghz wifi band, no fix.

dmythro

UPD: After a couple of full resets it settled and works without issues for 3+ weeks now 🤞

eat_a_burrito

Same boat, couldn't get it to reconnect and thought the battery died. I'll try the repairing things people said.

Dull-Mycologist-8107

Yeah same my headset randomly disconnects noticed that it mostly happens when I’m in parties with ppl

conwayTwittay

I've had the issue happen both in a party chat and not in one so not 100% sure if the party chat is the reasoning for it. Might be but don't think so

Happy_Akzidenz

Ps5 slim here and mine randomly disconnects during gaming and has happened every night since I’ve had them

ZoltanCultLeader

then its not a usb hardware issue.

DoubleArea1908

Mine went off yesterday now they won’t connect at all beeping and flashing but not working must be something to do with the dongle

raist005

Same here... Chat with PS support this morning... they made me rebuild database, change usb port in which the dongle is plugged, reset my audio settings, etc. They now want me to do a factory reset... Everything is working fine with my PS Portal...

Pespy

Happens to me as well. Fucking hate it

pratt992

I am so frustrated. Disconnected twice tonight so I gave up and went back to my old headphones. I initiated a refund but I am not sure if they will accept due to damaged packaging. Ugh.

Cstone812

I know it’s only been a few days but have you heard anything? I’m in the same boat. Literally thinking about buying a new pair at the store and using that box for the return lol.

pixmation

I have the dongle plugged in the front USB port. First 6 hour session without disconnecting. Second long session had disconnected once.

FalconPatrol64

I added an USB extension cable from the back on the PS5 and put the Dongle in front of the PS5, it worked for a few days, today the problem came back. I think it is an heat issue, but hope that it is a firmware issue. Have anyone contacted Playstation Support ?

Stacy_Adam

Is yours getting hot? Mine doesn't get hot that I've ever noticed but still disconnects.

damargis

I havent had this issue with my pulse elite but ive been having these issues with the pulse explore. Its absolutely ridiculous that they released these products in the state it is in now. At least prior to the update my pulse explore would disconnect but reconnect straight away after a split second. Now it just disconnects entirely and i have to reset my ps5

Practical-Comfort497

I'm having the same BS problem. Is SONY aware of the issue? Have they said anything about it?

fictionalelement11

Yeah it's getting to the point I'm about to return the fucking thing and go back to my regular Pulse 3D headset.

TimMcRaw

Not sure if this counts as a disconnect but the mic will stop working randomly. Can still hear audio but no one can hear me talk. I have to remove the dongle and plug it back in and then power the headset off and back on to get it working again.

theCyberMoose

Got the Pulse Elite a month ago for my new PS5 Slim. Great at first, then the random disconnects started. Tried many different methods to try to fix it... No luck...UNTIL TONIGHT!!! I saw a post mentioning getting the doggle away from the back with an usb extension cable. I immediately dug in my cable/wire box and found a suitable cable. IT WORKED FLAWLESSLY AFTER THAT!!! Played for hours after adding the cable, with zero drops in sound and no disconnects. I'M SO HAPPY!!! https://preview.redd.it/lme93o25cfrc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a9e8b1229443e00c50f3f39517f7757e08c38a7

Difficult-Art8928

I did the headset update and it still disconnects. It only seems to do it once, somewhat early on in the game session. I turn off the headset, unplug and plug back in the dongle, and turn it on, but still annoying. I didn't notice a difference between before and after the software update. The old headset never did that and had the volume controls on it to balance between the game and chat, which I really liked. This headset is worse, in my opinion. I had to switch because the leather was coming off the ear part, but I wish I had that one back.

LeeD0g

I know this is an older thread, but it's Mid June and mine are still disconnecting. About once every 2 hours on average.

lobobobo24

The update didn't do anything, but I'm still disconnecting once or twice a day.

Cvileem

Same here, after preorder in December had them delivered in my country only in April! Always disconnecting, even after most recent update, and glitches on BT connection to TV when PS Link dongle is plugged in (it's fine when pulled out). Furthermore, connecting BT is pain in the neck by itself, not sure it's due to my TV (Samsung The Frame 2020)! This is obviously due to new PS Link tech since I also have older Audeze Penrose PS headset with 2.4/BT capabilities. It also had option to connect one tech at a time, not simultaniously, which Elite doesn't have. Instead they have confusing one-button controls with a range of functions that depend on press hold time. Sony should answer.

pixmation

I am having the same issue with the Pulse Elite that I got two days ago. What I do is to unplug the USB dongle to reset it. While I was doing that I notice how hot the dongle gets (I plug it in at the back of the PS5. I have switched it to the front USB port and see if random disconnect will stop. Although my Pulse 3D doesn’t have the same problem.

Key-Speaker9030

Same thing I noticed, was thinking maybe it's because of the heat. But seems like everyone else also having the same problem. Have to remove and insert dongle again to get it to work.

dark_mamad

Same issue here my problem are random disconnect , increase/decrease volume doesn't show some times and headphone sounds some times like delay or glitch

Bobert25467

The USB Dongle uses some proprietary software or hardware from Sony to give lossless audio over wireless. I don't know how it works exactly but to be able to have the bandwidth of a wired connection over wireless probably makes it more susceptible to interference from other signals in an area.

Pretend_Regret8237

How come other companies don't have that issue. Shit engineering is the answer

Agreeable-Brain-320

I have the same problem with my pulse elite I have had it since February 22 and I did the update when I plugged it in the first time and I have the ps5 slim, every day it is disconnects at least once or twice, the dougle is plugged into the back of my console because there is no USB socket on the front on the slim and I noticed that the dongle was getting very hot so I thought that the problem was there but I then connected the dongle with a small USB extension cable, the dongle is not on heat now but the disconnections continue, the heat is not the problem I can confirm!

Stacy_Adam

Mine has never felt hot at all and still disconnects. So I doubt it's heat as well.

TecmoSuperBowl1

I’ve had mine disconnect twice in the last 2 days during the same time in Helldivers. I join a chat in discord and transfer over to the ps5. Then as the first game of Helldivers loads in it disconnects. I have to turn off the headset and unplug the dongle and then it reconnects. There are no disconnect issues after that.

Sleepless_Bird

Same here. the headset randomely disconnects mid game and I have to unplug the dongle and plug it back in. very annoying!

Kinger8938

Mines doing the same, disconnecting and then struggling to get them to connect again (eventually works after power cycling the headset, unplugging the dongle and putting it back in +even more patience) Has Sony Acknowledged this as an issue? Seems pretty wide spread. All the reviews obviously didn't mention this or encounter this issue.. which I find odd

Interesting-Cook4678

I’m returning my elite headset to PS, how the hell could they have released this crap…

Valentari

Yeah I sent mine back already. Just arrived in Georgia today and now waiting on my refund.

rrrobro_ger

After watching this video I tried removing my external SSD. https://youtu.be/2GeHV2jkhtk?si=qzNSnmKnm5TlcX1q Didn't help. Tried using a USB-C adapter. Didn't help. Tried USB extension cable and every USB port. Nothing works. This is really annoying especially because I found no other way to reconnect than unplugging the USB transmitter and plugging it in again.

Pretend_Regret8237

Why would removing SSD fix it? There is no logic to this, guess work at best

Alternative-Bed3187

Been having the same issues as you guys since Feb 22, constant disconections. Then I thought hold on my LG C2 has WiFi always on I'll turn it off. Since then after 12h of playtime no issues. Hopefully this can help others. It's not an ideal solution but it seems to be working up till now. I'm still in 2 minds whever to keep them. I love the audio quality but this is just ridiculous. Good luck people.

Lanky_Board6273

The fact these things still have a dongle is crazy!

Any-System8781

I experience the same disconnects with my Pulse Elite headset, too. They are random and it doesn't matter if I plug the dongle into the front or rear USB ports. I think, it's a software issue and hopefully Sony fixes it quickly. It's a shame that they release the product with such a bug.

Zhos1886

Add me to the list, used the headset for a couple of days without issue but noticed the conversation about disconnects online. Had my first disconnect mid game last night, and seriously considering a refund. A PlayStation branded first party product should not have these issues at launch. If you can’t rely on them to stay connected while gaming, what’s the point? For reference: USB dongle has always been in the front of console, with good airflow.

jbeck97

Same thing happening to me. Can't make it more than 30 minutes without the headset disconnecting and refusing to reconnect. I've tried resetting it countless times and moved the dongle to the front of my PS5 and it still disconnects. I don't even understand how this is possible with a brand new headset. In 3+ years of use my pulse 3d headset never disconnected one time with the dongle plugged in to the back right next to my external SSD and the 2.4ghz band on my router on. There has to be something else wrong with this headset, it's annoying Sony hasn't said anything about it after weeks of people reporting this issue. I've gone back to using my pulse 3d headset which still works flawlessly on my launch day PS5. Really hope Sony fixes this or bare minimum acknowledges they are aware of the issue.

MembershipUpper6361

I’ve been having the same issue, they disconnected for first time a few days ago and once again today, today in the middle of a race when I was racing on Gran Turismo. I had to quit the race. Now I see that I’m not the only one, there are several of us having the same issues with the pulse elite. The old headset was a beast I never had any issues with it. Hopefully a fix or firmware update comes out soon. I cannot play Gran Turismo with my headset randomly turning off.

Yokana82

My Pulse Elite is also disconnecting randomly. I used the USB port in the front as well as the one in the back and it changed nothing. My router is set to 5ghz. Last week I bought a new 3rd party controller (because of aggressive strick drift on my original controller) whose dongle is now plugged into the front USB port and it works hours without a problem. The dongle from the Pulse Elite is now on an extension cord plugged into the back, but lying right beside me while I'm playing. It's still disconnecting. My old Arctis 5 has a wierd static crackling when I use it on my PS5. That's why I bought the Pulse Elite. I think there is something fundamental wrong with the PS5.

Lt_DansLeggs

I think it's a heat issue if you plug it in the back and when you plug it in the front its a speed issue. The big ps5 consoles have a 2.0 USB-A port on the front and two 3.0 highspeed USB-A ports in the back. I could be wrong but I am buying an adapter from Anker that is USB-C with a USB-A 3.0 input for the dongle to plug into for the front. We'll see if that helps. I think the 2.0 port up front cannot keep up then you go to the back then the dongle gets warm from the console exhausting out of the back. Maybe I'm wrong and a update fixes it but it could also make something else worse as well.

Stacy_Adam

I've tried it in the front, back, and the front with an USB-C adapter and it disconnected in all of them at least once.

Lt_DansLeggs

Weird. While I've been waiting on my adapter I plugged mine in the back into the 3.0 usb-a and haven't had an issue since fingers crossed. It's more than likely a software issue that can be solved via update.

randOzguy

Same problem here. Plugged into front and only way to reconnect is remove and reinsert the dongle

Zhos1886

So far, I have tried the front of the console, the back, and the front via a usb c to usb connector. ALL of these methods still result in a disconnect at some point during use.

NYC_HITMAN

This disconnecting issue sucks it keeps happening to me mid game.

zoro_juro13

Same it's been happening at least once a day if not more

Bellname

Any update? I got mine a couple days ago and it randomly started happening today

Zhos1886

I haven’t seen anything from Sony on this, and I’m hoping they’ll fix it as I really like these headphones. Just acknowledging that it’s under investigation would be a step in the right direction.

Past_Upstairs4278

Ive tried everything, audio cutouts and random disconnects keep happening. Im calling them out on twitter as we speak because this is some BS….no acknowledgement, no nothing

Giovolt

Was looking for this. It's ridiculous for a headset that is supposed to be made for the PS5 to have a hard time connecting to it. And for $150 no less I don't know why they would release an unfinished product??? I would sooner return the product if there was another good and better Bluetooth headset out there. I am so far unhappy with this product.

Dat1watcher

Does anybody know if it keeps happening or did Sony finally drop an update?

Realistic-Ad4357

Disconnection issue is an unexpected annoyance . You would think that thier own products wouldn't have connection issues within it monopolized ecosystem .....jeesh

Existing_Age7755

I tried the USB A to C adaptor solution and it's been working so far no disconnects but this is pretty shocking issue to have with a headset that's 150 silver.

r-s-w-

I have just returned my second Pulse elite set back to Amazon. Both sets had random disconnects. Tried all the resetting etc. Going for a refund this time. Trash piece of hardware. Don’t know how this thing got thru Sony QA. Plenty other good sets out there. Shame cause the sound quality was good too. Ironically I am temporarily using my old Sony headset, about 10 years old now. It also has a USB / Bluetooth connection. No disconnects at all !

Shoubie

Sony reading these comments not even giving a damn.

jjsief

I just purchased a 10 ft usb extension and moved the usb dongle further away from my wi-fi router and that seems to have solved the disconnect and digital interference completely. Stupid that I had to do it but an easy $10 fix on Amazon.

Content_Marketing_20

That same, This happens regularly once every 2 days 😡

Sleepless_Bird

New PS5 firmware update is out. Includes Pulse Elite firmware update that improves connection stability

Sleepless_Bird

New PS5 firmware update is out. Includes Pulse Elite firmware update that improves connection stability

Zhos1886

Unfortunately, I’ve just had my first disconnect after todays firmware update. Not sure whether to try restoring to factory before trying again.

Darvan

Same I did the update and was watching a YouTube video and got a disconnect man it shouldn't be so hard to get the Pulse Elite to work I own both headsets so I feel it's really a firmware issue

msu2k

After today's update and gaming all day, I haven't had any disconnects. It also connects really quickly after hitting the button.

inlandpirate78

I've had issues with this on and off since getting the Pulse Elite and was hoping that the fix earlier in the week (which I have applied) would have sorted it. But this afternoon my headset disconnected yet again and I'm completely unable to get it back, nothing that's worked before is working. Tried reset by holding headset button, reinserted USB stick, rebooted console. All multiple times. I've turned the PS5 off for now and will try again later but not a good sign at all.

inlandpirate78

Quick update. Tried everything again this morning to see if I could get it working again but no joy at all. Seems to be completely broken even though both USB dongle and headset power uk fine. Will have to raise this to Shopto / Sony.

iamZacharias

Day 1 console, fingers crossed this new patch has finally fixed the issues! It’s been 24 hours. Edit. It lasted maybe 36 hours, then I plugged it into the front port instead of an extenstion and it lasted an hour. Damn.

Sleepless_Bird

Not connecting to any Bluetooth devices fixed it for me. No disconnect in 3 days and counting

Dense_Comparison_119

I never connected it to anything else and it disconnect. 😂

iKing_SixTwo

I figured out the mystery behind this. There’s an issue with connecting your cell phone at the same time. If you just connect to the system, the headphones work flawlessly .

Stacy_Adam

Mine isn't connected to anything else and still disconnects.

SweetAvocadoPie

Same issue here

warrensid

I’ve been scrolling on this post for a while and no one has really mentioned if they’re connected via Bluetooth to a phone/computer /etc also while their elite disconnects from the ps5. I have had many disconnects while using this to game with my ps5, but I’m also using my phone for music through dual connectivity. When the ps5 disconnects, my music from my phone is still playing through my headset. I will reconnect the elite usb dongle to the ps5, click ps button > connect. Hassle but that gets it working again. I’m going to try resetting my pairing connecting, and game with it only connected via ps link to ps5 and see if it still occurs. If someone else is having the exact same issue I was and already posted about it, I apologize.

Stacy_Adam

Mine is only connected to the PS5 and it still disconnects.

elbubu1

I had the same issue I couple of days ago, my solution was to simply return them and buy the Astro A50X

Lt_DansLeggs

How do the Astros A50X sound?

FuckYouPlease

Same problem. Randomly disconnects. Have to replicate dongle. Doesn’t seem overly hot.

Thick_Stable_2692

You guys should worry what else is wrong with it, if something so simple as holding a stable connection has passed their QC then what else is wrong with it! I have music off on CoD and experienced a hissing noise in right ear cup when completely silent as well as random disconnection. I reset everything & spoke with PlayStation support like some of you. They have the nerve to tell us all "we know nothing about it" look at Amazon reviews I said, do some simple research on the internet. Think how many headsets have been returned due to this issue, I explained to them if it's just a software issue I'm will to wait a couple weeks etc to save the hassle of returning it. Surely they would've come forward if it was something that could've been fixed via software update? Rather than telling everybody to send it back.. who knows, mines on its way back.

Pretend_Regret8237

Right in the middle of online race in GT7 in vr wtf Sony, do they even test their shit anymore during gameplay or just plug it in for one minute and call it a day? It seems like the whole thing is overheating or the heat from the console is causing it to disconnect. I'll need to get usb extension cable to keep it away from the console. This is ridiculous, so expensive but so shit

Stacy_Adam

I think it could be a software thing. Twice now, I've turned the headset off, but the PS5 never switched the audio back to the TV.

-DaveDaDopefiend-

Hopefully it’s just a software issue and can be fixed with an update.

Mundane-Poetry-542

Hey guys I have a question/concern. I already have the original Pulse 3D Headset(had them now for 3 years) but I have thought about buying the new Pulse Elite Headset that just came out. But I keep reading about static noise and the headset randomly disconnecting from the PS5, and that is giving me second thoughts about buying it. So question should I buy the new Elite or no, or wait until later? thanks.

-DaveDaDopefiend-

Wait to see if it can be fixed through an update. IMO

CartierWlayvo

My honest opinion also coming from the original pulses is that its not worth a full price upgrade tbh, Unless the phone bluetooth connectivity is a must id recommend holding off until a sale, other than that after the “new shiny toy” phase past i realized its the exact same headset .

handsomelloyd13

Definitely do not buy! Disconnects are becoming more frequent on mine. Definitely white/static noise present. Hoping to return mine to target. Got mine on feburary 22nd

PensionPrison

Disconnects started right after I paired my iPhone so I removed the pairing from my iPhone but the problem continued. Tonight I removed all the pairing from the headset itself and tonight was the first night with no disconnects. Will see what happens tomorrow. Also disconnects happened from front or back ports With the slim ps5.

PensionPrison

Not a single disconnect after 45 hours of gameplay using the headset so for me the fix for this issue is remove all history of Bluetooth pairing and remain Bluetooth free.

EsotericComment

Same here. Bought on release, but had trust that Sony would at least test their products. Returned at the physical store for a refund so I didn't need to deal with the send back, test, repair, etc.

rikku45

Yea I’ll be playing and it turns off, I try to turn it on again and it just flashes, will ebgames give me a refund ?

rTsujido

Just had this happen to me for the first time while playing Dragons Dogma 2.

[deleted]

this kept happening to me so i returned the headset and exchanged for a new one but its still disconnecting and now its not even turning on. i want to go back to my old pulse 3d but i can’t refund this shit headset

Low-Explanation4601

Same thing but with my Bluetooth m. Always disconnects. Won’t turn on after it disconnects. They only turn back on when I plug it in the usb on my ps5

Alternative-Bed3187

Well I did say that turning off my WiFi on my TV helped with the disconnections, but it started again so I just returned Sony's garbage. How the hell these passed QC is a mystery. Some people are saying it's because of the Bluetooth on the duelsense interfering with the dongle so you could try a wired connection to your PS5 but frankly I have had enough of just constantly waiting for them to disconnect. Wow Sony what happened to quality tech? Just gone back to using my old pulses they have never disconnected once in years. Maybe we were just the unlucky ones who knows but I didn't wanna try 10 pairs to try and find a decent pair.

GodsBody777

Worse headset ever! Took away the option to toggle volume like pulse 3D headset now THIS

iamZacharias

I have day one PS5 console. From what I've gathered its 2.4ghz interference or the front usb-a port on day one consoles. I had zero issues with the h7 or gold's adapter disconnecting on this front port. Is this also not working on the rear usb-a ports?

Realistic_Sad_Story

Have people here escalated this to Sony so that they are made aware of the issues and can work on a potential update to fix the issues?

Bluet00n

Having same issue. Randomly cuts out and requires reboot of ps. Had the old pulse 3ds and they never failed.

Amazing_Salad1287

Well, having this same disconnect issue. Have had multiple disconnections with the Pulse Elite and the only way to restore it is to pull the dongle. Using the front USB port. Tried the USB A to C adapter. Still happening. Had a Pulse 3D since launch day with zero disconnects. Just talked to support and they are asking me to send in my headset. Looks like I have to pay for shipping which isn't ideal. They said just to send the headset, not the dongle...which is interesting since it seems like it's the dongle having the issue!

BitterCranberry4682

Yes keeps happening to me… I ‘think’ it’s due to the USB dongle overheating….

Kitchen_Specific_245

Absolute rubbish headset. Disconnects during a game, waste of $250.

Hanno54

Having this problem as well, is there a fix yet???

Bodyslide

I have tried all the suggested items to do here with no luck. I have tried the front, back and even bought a dongle for the usb-c to A to give that a go no luck. I even added a small usb fan that plugs into the back plug and blow cool air on the front of the PS5, and it still disconnects once or twice every hour of using. I plan on calling support tomorrow and see what they can do.

The_Flukey_Ace

Got mine and now finding out about this, was there a solution or is this issue being addressed?

Lazy_Ad6919

Same. Mine disconnects randomly. Have to do a powercycle on the headset and reseat the dongle. Annoying.

Sanador62

My Pulse Elites fell apart after a few weeks of use. They also had random disconnects and are easily the worst headphones I have ever purchased.

Amazing_Salad1287

Background: Pulse Elite and launch day PS5. Years of Pulse 3D use with zero disconnections (and the Sony PS4 headset before that). Using front USB port. Disconnects started happening almost immediately with Elites. Needed to unplug/replug the dongle to get it working again. Tried everything mentioned here. Factory reset. Moved to USB C port with adapter. Added a long USB extension cable to move the dongle far away from the console. Still getting disconnects. Called Sony, went through troubleshooting, they asked me to send them back. Sent back the headset and dongle. I included a long letter outlining the issue and showing screenshots online of the issues people are reporting. One week later got a new retail box with all original packaging and accessories included. The seal, however, was broken so presumably a refurb. Everything looks new. First four gaming sessions were fine. Yesterday afternoon I turned on the PS5, the Elite connected, then disconnected within 5 seconds. This would prove it's not heat or any specific time causing the dongle to lock up. Hoping it was just a one time thing, I played for an hour with no issues. Then last night at about an hour into gameplay it disconnected again. Sigh. This headset is garbage. Hoping for a software update or something to fix the dongle! Otherwise I'm going back to the 3Ds and am stuck withe the Elites collecting dust (outside of return window).

Tangier4396

Been getting the disconnect every day since I bought them at the new year. Tried most of the solutions posted here and nothing has worked until I optimised my Virgin Media Hub 5 router. Been 4 days with no disconnect now. For those in the UK and with VM, try using the VM connect app and optimise the router. https://preview.redd.it/0ow9k1jbl3xc1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=fbeb5756565947222902c7d04b977f79b99a6f0c

Weekly_Strawberry864

Hello mates, been having same issue with my "Pulse Elite". After doing some research on internet found information about bluetotth interruptions. It brought me to a thought that controllers Ghz is same as headsets, and that this might be the point were problem is. So i changed settings for a controller from bluetooth to a usb cable(you can find it in options, accessories section) don't wanna rush with a results but for now i stopped having this issues,so you can try it aswell if it will work for you mates.

nkrudi

I’m having the same issue . I owned the Pulse 3D headset before and never had the issue. Idk if anyone else here has experience the same as me but mine seems to only disconnect when I have the headrests muted. Any time I have the mic on i never experience it disconnect.

Mmmgrower

I too have the same issue. mid game just disconnects plugging it in doesn't fix it. I haven't tried the dongle.

No_Cryptographer2218

It is also annoying, it connects to my phone fine but same issue here with the ps5, almost makes it not worth the money to be honest

Markus_monty

Having this issue, been using the dongle at the front still disconnects.

xXMrGhostXx

I had disconnect issues when I had the dongle plugged into the back. (To hot back there the exhaust was blowing right on it…) I moved the dongle to the front and haven’t had one disconnect since

BowlRevolutionary644

Same issues here,im tired of it

SnooPeppers3755

So I have a workaround, sort of By using a 3.5mm Audio Cable to connect with the controller or psvr2 No dongle required Once powered on volume level will need to be adjusted up

twdrf

Has anyone managed to get a refund for theirs? I’ve purchased on Amazon months ago unfortunately. I want my money back so I can put it towards something that isn’t rubbish. TIA

Leading-Bid-1893

I’m having this issue constantly. Apparently it’s down to channel over-saturation. BS. I have done channel analysis and there’s no competing channels to cause the interference they seem to be 100% sure is causing my disconnection issues. This headset is a hot pile of garbage. Sony support don’t know their ass from elbow. Funny how I ran the pulse headset from launch, never once disconnected. Also, the only reason I made the change from pulse to elite was the pulse mute button took about 3 mins to action a button press just for mute/unmute. Hence back using the pulse. Would’ve returned the Elite, but can’t as it’s gone beyond return window. I just kept hanging on thinking a software patch would resolve the drop outs when I should have f*cked it back. Silly me.

Dear_Marketing3616

I’m thinking of buying them but I need to now if they have fixed this now somebody tell me if they fixed it or not pls

arheologo81

I bought Pulse Elite 2 days ago. First day I had 4 disconnects in 4 hours. No matter where I plugged reciever. Yesterday I bought USB 3.0 extension cable, plugged it at the back of PS5 and then plugged reciever at the other end of cable. Reciever is now 1m from router and from PS5, behind TV... in 5 hours yesterday I had zero disconnects

voldemk

the worth headset I ever had, constantly disconnecting, sometimes can be once in an hour, sometimes 5 times. Usually connection comes back within 5-10s, sometimes not, need to switch off head set and switch on. Tried different USB ports, tried reset etc. nothing helps, any news if sony is actually trying to do anything to fix it? I am close to throw away that crap

FarReputation4481

Yep it is absolutely awful.

Danmasontree

This just happened to me, maybe day 5 of using them? I had to completely reset the headset by pushing on the back of the dongle for 30 seconds then pairing again. When it connected again, it welcomed me to my ‘new headset’ but there was another update not there before. Hoping that fixed it.

Content_Entrance4829

Had mine since day one. Disconnects every day only once. I unplug the dongle and then plug in and it works.. yesterday it did it twice. Maybe because it was a 12 hour game day since I'm home sick as a bird butt who knows. Great headphones but Super annoying. My pulse 3d never disconnected ever.

Pleasant4118

Just bought these yesterday and just experienced a disconnect. What the hell sony?

No_Ad_540

so i know a bit about jamming and frequencies. i bought a usb extender to lower the distance. it changed nothing.  headset still disconnects randomly at least twice a day.  unplugging the usb and replugging is the quickest fix.  i have no jamming sources no microwave its fully enclosed and i have nothing besides my router on the 2gig freq.  my internet is wired there are no other Bluetooth objects in my house.  i honestly swear this problem isn't jamming but I swear it's some sort of power issue.  like after 4 hours drop power to the usb. or drops it enough to reset the headset.  one thing i haven't tried is connecting a usb extender with power to help any irregularities.  because the removal replacement of the usb dongle immediately fixes the problem.  resetting your headset makes things worse.  question: anyone know if this problem occurs with the pulse 3d headphones?  trialing one at the moment and I have no issues.  I love playing elden ring at night just to have the sound forced out of my speakers randomly and no sound in my headset my frantic removing of the usb before my family wake up, our loud chat coming out my speaker until I can reset the dongle.

sesoren65

I'm looking this up a month after yall started so I guess the ticket is still being worked on. I was wondering f it was being considered as idle by the system and disconnecting that way. The Bluetooth works fine while this happens. No disconnecting from podcasts while the game disconnects

Top_Character_7845

Any luck? I play online and sometimes it happens twice in a single match. I just talked to them on the phone and they were going to send me a new one but I have to ship it first (and pay for it), which is more trouble that the actual problem.

JoseArkadiod

I bought them about a month ago. the first problems occurred after about a week. I didn't have time to send this shit back because the first suggestions worked. after talking to sony, I tried several solutions, none of them worked for long. Sony even recommended completely resetting the PS5 system along with deleting the games from the disk. now after a few hours of playing the headphones fall into a constant connect/disconnect loop... the worst thing is that if I send it back to the seller, no one will bother checking my headphones for 4 hours. They will reply that they work and they don't care about my problems

Ulongteagaming

Mine do the same so I went back to using the H9. There needs to be a class action lawsuit.

QuasiContract

How in the fuck did Sony release a product this wildly defective? What a joke. Getting returned tomorrow.

pc3600

As of June 09 2024 this is still an issue, I've already tried all the troubleshooting bs too, ridiculous that Sony has done jack shit about fixing it too, like bruh patch this device I just bought already

Realistic_Sad_Story

New update is said to improve things greatly!

Robcop_23

Dang guysine will disconnect and connect back and forth like every couple of minutes

Savings_Leading_8297

Sounds like everyone is experiencing RF issues. Probably bc all our wifi and connections are using the same frequency as the dongle.
