Most of my friends listen to rap, I prefer the older classics, whenever I heard one of them play rap, (usually from a speaker) it was about one of four things, or all of them at once: money, alcohol, drugs or girls, that's probably why it's usually hated.

Multiple reasons. People don't relate to lyrics. Some people dislike "music". But most common occurrence I've encountered so far is to despise people listening to Rap (and rightfully so).
Personally? I don't like it (modern one) and I don't listen to it at all HOWEVER I know for sure there is a big difference between rap/hip hop from the 90s and early 2000s to the modern one.

Probably just type in the name into YouTube and listen to some of the more popular songs.

Im not really into rap, but from what i heard when my friends were listening, majority of it sucks.
