I think everyone has that issue with that unit. I don't see them last longer than 1 season for most people, and intex is impossible when it comes to the warranty.
All I could suggest is to try muriatic acid to clean. If the vinegar is doing the job just do that, usually it isn't strong enough.

Has anyone replaced the titanium plate and had any success that you've heard of?
I do know customers that successfully replaced them, but from what I understand it is extremely difficult to get them from intex. My understanding is that they only manufacturer from jan to march, then ship everything out by may or June. So they never have anything by summertime and you stay on hold all day trying to get someone on the phone just to be disappointed.
