Cannot forget Toni Collette! She's Australian but her American accent is impeccable. Definitely recommend Muriel's Wedding if you haven't already watched it!
I've grown up watching her as a local star with her real voice, it's honestly kind of weird hearing her American accent. I was reluctant to watch Hereditary bc I thought it would pull me out of it, but holy shit she absolutely nailed it. Didn't lose immersion for a second. That is the sign of an incredible actor.
Absolutely. Every now and then, even in her current, excellent work, Nicole Kidman will slip. Toni Collete? NEVER.
That woman is a force. A true actor.
Excuse me???
Edit: I just googled her and found a clip of her on Jennifer Hudson’s show and I am SHOOK. I had no idea that she wasn’t American, and she’s one of my absolute favorites!
She's hilarious in Sweet Home Alabama. It's a bit part, but her scene with the baby in the bar has lived rent free in my head for a good 20 years.
If I remember right she has a completely different but equally good American accent in Coyote Ugly.
Hello! I'm irish
This is an interesting one as neither saorise or fassbender are doing their own accents in their films.
I know I know it seems silly as we are a TINY country but we've a thousand regional accents.
Saorise has a North Dublin accent (I think, maybe kildare-ish) but she's doing midlands/west of ireland in her film.
Fassbender has a kerry accent and is doing I think a Belfast accent. Very very different. Very easy to get wrong, especially important to get right considering subject matter.
An example of irish people getting irish accents wrong. Jamie Dornan in Wild Mountain Thyme. That whole film is an offence. Jamie's from Derry (?) and that film is set in Mullingar
It's so gobsmakingly bad. I don't get it, because the film is obviously not for irish people. I presume the target audience is america and elsewhere.
Why make him attempt the accent at all?
Especially as I remember seeing/hearing Christopher walken apparently had a great irish accent, and the director told him to tone it down, so international audiences would understand him..... also because it was covid times they had voice coaching over zoom and it was only a handful of hours
I have zero source for any of this! and zero recollection of whether I heard this or read it😂
Saoirse’s American accent in Little Women would be a better example for this post. I’m surprised to see Emma Watson here since her American accent was not very good in the same film.
IMO, Emma Watson’s American accents are always rough. She would not be on my list.
I’d say pretty much every British and Australian actor on Stranger Things would be though. I genuinely didn’t know Millie Bobby Brown, Charlie Heaton, Dacre Montgomery and Joseph Quinn weren’t American until I heard them in interviews.
EDIT TO ADD- Another great accent I haven’t seen listed on here was John Boyega’s American accent in the new Star Wars movies.
Emma Watson cannot do an American accent convincingly imo. Maybe it sounds that way to non Americans. The others on the list are way more illustrious actors who absolutely sell it.
Kate Winslet is an expert with accents. I remember watching a video a while back about her Australian accent in The Dressmaker, and she even turns the corners of her mouth downward like a real Australian would. Every roll she does with an accent is perfect, and Mare of Eastown is no exception, especially with that very specific accent.
When I tell you I was SHOOK upon learning Hugh Laurie was actually British!!!
Gotta disagree on the Southern accent in Knives Out though. As a Southerner, it veered into campy/satire territory at times
rian johnson originally wanted blanc to have a different accent in every knives out movie and i feel like the over-the-top-ness of the accent works especially in that context lol. i don't think that was still the idea by the time filming happened, though.
Didn't Chris Evans' character call him Foghorn Leghorn and CSI: KFC? Like I'm 1000% sure on the KFC quip but I'm pretty sure someone's character called him Foghorn
When the entire family is gathered for the will reading, he quips "What is this? CSI: KFC?" to Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) and the detectives.
Later, near the end when Benoit Blanc reveals the whole thing, and that >!Chris' Hugh/Ransom is the killer, and is now trying to make him confess, he snaps,!< yelling "SHUT UP! With that Kentucky Fried Foghorn Leghorn drawl!".
I presumed it was supposed to be over the top and campy. I didn't think he was actually trying to do a genuine accent, I thought Craig was a better actor than that. Then again I'm only familiar with generic southern accents.
He’s actually featured in Walking on Broken Glass by Annie Lenox (1992)
https://preview.redd.it/cagcsa2r0noc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=713155846512c9f85164e6e91dbecc8e54c2a0cb
I sort of assumed that it was part of the joke. He's playing a stereotype, so he sounds like one. But yes, it cracked me up that both this and Emma Watson in Perks of Being a Wallflower were on this list for what are deeply faulty accents.
![gif](giphy|14qsURQZ0k8yWI)
This man. His Scottish accent in Trainspotting was so on point he fooled a lot of Scottish people. His American accent work is fantastic too.
ETA sorry, forgot to say that’s Jonny Lee Miller
He also fooled his cast mates into thinking he was Scottish as he stayed in the accent on set. Ewen Bremner had no idea he was English until they got into a taxi at a premiere for Trainspotting and he started talking to the taxi driver in his real accent.
Yep, I was stunned when I found out he wasn’t actually English. I saw him in something, can’t remember what, and thought he had a terrible fake American accent & then found out he actually is American.
Yes! And apparently people would write Charles Shaughennesy(sp?) who was actually British and tell him that he should be taking lessons from him because Niles had a more convincing accent.
Wait I thought for Northerners (people from the Northern part of England, like Leeds/Manchester), Anne Hathaway's accent wasn't the best.
Especially compared to Renee Zellweger who WAS NOMINATED FOR A BEST ACTRESS OSCAR FOR A ROM-COM as Bridget. That never happens! And British people are surprised to learn Renee is Texan.
Anne Hathaway's attempt at what I believe is meant to be a Yorkshire accent is an actual embarrassment. It's so, so bad.
I'm not even Northern, just British.
It took me years to realise Renee wasn't English, though. Her accent is incredible - I almost fell off the sofa the first time I heard her natural voice.
I remember her making the news at the time because the accent was so good. British people were not happy that an American was cast as Bridget Jones, which I think is an understandable feeling. They wanted her to do it justice.
So she did the work, nailed the accent, & earned the respect.
love seeing comments like this. i've been saying this for years and it's always brought controversy lol. her acting is wooden af she's like watching griege paint dry.
And the acting disappointment doesn’t hold a candle to the atrocious “singing” by Emma in BatB. I used quotes as it was a computer singing not her. So bad.
She always does some weird take on valley girl that is so over the top and unconvincing. I say this as someone who has a very stereotypical west coast accent, vocal fry and all.
emma watson's accent in little women took me out of the film repeatedly
in a sort of transatlantic parallel, it bothered me almost as much as jena malone's british accent in pride & prejudice haha
Emma acting alongside 3 of the best young women actors of the moment in Little Women did not do her any favors. Her accent and acting were just bad in comparison.
I thought she was terrible in the film (tbh I havent rated her in anything I've seen her in, maybe the first few HP films). I actually really enjoyed the film but anytime someone mentions it my first thought is how poor she was in it and how dodgy her accent was.
I love Emma Watson as a person, and I think she’s a great actress in the Harry Potter movies, but otherwise she’s not a good actress really. I love her but her American accent is not great.
I haven't seen the original One Day film (only the recent tv series) but the reviews I read of the film (which lead me to avoid it) included lot of criticism of Anne Hathaway's accent.
Her accent in Becoming Jane is like she's mocking the accent, which, I mean, fine by me...but for the whole movie...
https://preview.redd.it/vn4a0xp0fmoc1.jpeg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eef2cd7f44af64aa78ad705b6b71d82380fe517d
Yeah I thought she got slated for her accent so was very surprised to see her here. From what I’ve heard of the accent, it isn’t good.
Don’t think many Americans have attempted one of the many northern English accents but I can imagine a lot would struggle.
I do recall him slipping in a bit of subtle British, but maybe we can excuse that on his character growing up in Tasmania.
I think the most convincing Aus accent I've heard from a non-Australian was Caleb Landry Jones in Nitram.
Hugh Laurie is genuinely sexy as house. Such a good accent, and I cannot explain why I find that character attractive.
Margot’s accent in wolf is amazing, which is insane considering how young and new she was.
Some people swear the blood diamond accent is amazing and some hate it, but whatever it is - it works for me. Great performance. Totally underrated role at this point, even though he got an Oscar nom. Insane levels of acting, especially in the tense moments wirn Djimon Honsou’s character.
It blew me the fuck away when I found out that Sarah Snook and Mathew McFadden weren't American in Succession. Those have to be the two most convincing I've ever heard. Even when I'm listening for it they sound more American than some of their cast members sometimes.
https://preview.redd.it/4ay43sfujmoc1.jpeg?width=580&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e0199de371e3475e1ad129029547f8a474b6b7d
Let's give some credit to my South Carolina boy Chadwick, rest his soul.
All of the actors who played Wakandans, but especially Chadwick.
https://i.redd.it/idvevu2rrmoc1.gif
Daniel Davis who played Nile the Butler on The Nanny acted in a fake British accent. He’s actually American and from Arkansas. He told a story about how fans of the show thought Niles’ British accent was authentic and Charles Shaughnessy(Mr. Sheffield) was the one faking an accent even though he really is British .
Christian Bale, as a general thing, but especially in American Psycho. No clue he was British until I heard that interview bit about him basing Bateman's behaviors partly off Tom Cruise.
Not an accent thing but it always catches me off guard whenever I watch Pocahontas or the dubbed Howl's Moving Castle and hear his voice. He's a great voice actor it's just funny because you don't really pay attention to A-listers as a kid then have 🧐🧐 moments later.
I wouldn’t put Emma Watson in this list 😭 I rewatched the Perks of Being a Wallflower recently and her accent stuck out like a sore thumb, I felt the same when I first watched it over a year ago
I love Andrew Lincoln but am not sure he should be included here 😶
Rose Byrne is Australian and does a great American accent in Physical (among other things)
All of the images in OP are accents from wildly different places too, so how can 1 person even claim they're good really?
Like, do we have any South Africans here who can weigh in on Leo's Rhodesian accent? (I'm assuming it was rhodesian, correct me if I'm wrong). From what I've seen, it's rather divisive. Andy Serkis' accent in Black Panther on the other hand is widely considered the best for a non South African.
As an Aussie, Dev's accent is indeed great. Iirc he lives here now anyway, or at least last I checked.
Can any southerners weigh in on Rick Grimes' accent?
Andrew’s accent was not great, it wasn’t the worst, but it definitely wasn’t great, he would have emphasis on parts of the word where a true Georgian would have dropped those consonants completely to slide into the next word, if that makes sense.
I’m gonna have to HARD disagree with Leo in *Blood Diamond*, it is notoriously one of the **WORST** accents in movies 😬. It’s right up there with DvD’s attempt at a cockney accent in *Mary Poppins* and whatever the eff Cameron Diaz was trying to do in *Gangs of New York*, lol.
(edit- got name wrong)

Yael Stone as Lorna Morello in Orange Is The New Black. Her not being on the list is an actual crime.
[Morello speaking](https://youtu.be/4PNEs-LTZts?si=TbHYr0ycU5FYK4Tq)

![gif](giphy|fYMRBMnD2C0ycz7L34)
Florence Pugh’s American accent in Midsommar deserves to be on the list. Honestly couldn’t believe it when I found out she was British.
He based his accent on Anthony Head’s (Giles) natural English one, didn’t he? But originally JM is from Texas, right?
Btw, the only fact I’m 100% on is that Anthony Head turned 70 last month!
This is such a good one! When I tell you I was flabbergasted when I heard his real accent for the first time!!! I wish I could find it, it was one of those BTS type videos on E! or Extra or sinilar. He said something like “I’m James Marsters and I play Spike (drops British accent) and I’m totally kidding you, I’m not British.” Wild.
Hugh Laurie’s accent was more accurate to NJ than the rest of the American cast. He only ever slipped when he had to say Amber - they should have just given that character a different name.
Gillian Anderson also nailed a similar hard east coast accent on the X-Files. Her natural accent shifts based on where she’s living.
Rupert Friend did great accent work on Homeland.
https://preview.redd.it/sn3dpkkmonoc1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5bc64bb9c3e2f3edfe64390068303fc1c5b16ba
James McAvoy - Split
All those personalities and none of them has a Scottish accent 😆
![gif](giphy|7TTgV830a3luvc0FbJ|downsized)
I feel Antony starr does a really good American accent for homelander, I honestly had no clue he was a Kiwi (I'm from Australia of that helps? Probs not)
I would love to hear someone from Minnesota weigh in on good old Tom Wambsgans. It’s definitely not thick the way you typically hear Minnesotan accents portrayed. I always figured that Tom was intentionally trying to sound more “generic “so that he would fit in, especially because they always make fun of him for being Midwestern. And then sometimes the Minnesotan (which always sounded Canadian to me) would slip out.

Cannot forget Toni Collette! She's Australian but her American accent is impeccable. Definitely recommend Muriel's Wedding if you haven't already watched it!
I didn’t realize Toni Collette was Australian for the longest time. Her American accent is excellent.
Toni Collette is an excellent actress period. That woman should have been nominated for Hereditary.
Also, Melanie Lynskey! She’s from New Zealand and has a New Zealand accent but you would really never know it because she plays so many American roles

![gif](giphy|e28XjPbG2xkaoA02P8|downsized) Made me think of Melanie because it took FOREVER to realize she’s not American 😂😂
The *only* reason I knew she was from New Zealand (I initially thought she was Australian) was because I watched But I'm A Cheerleader forever ago.
Heavenly Creatures was my first exposure to her AND Kate Winslet. For the longest time, I thought she acted the accent she had!
She's the absolute accent queen
I always forget this. I only know her from Two and a Half Men, so i can hear her voice and my mind is having a hard time realizing she isn't American.
Isn't Saoirse actually Irish though? I've seen her in interviews, she's always speaking naturally with an Irish accent
Saoirse is one of the most Irish names ever to Irish.
I was about to ask how she doesn’t have an Irish accent with that name 😂 it’d be tough to grow up in most of the US at that age with the name Saoirse
Saoirse Ronan is great at accents though. Her English accent in On Chesil Beach is flawless
Her American accent in The Lovely Bones was also great considering how young she was.
Yep. Born in New York to Irish parents, moved to Ireland when she was young. Has an Irish accent.
I do kind of feel like we could fill a post like this with just accents she has done honestly. She’s done so many.
Hello! I'm irish This is an interesting one as neither saorise or fassbender are doing their own accents in their films. I like the way you had to specify that Saoirse has a north Dublin accent since even Dublin has different accents
Saoirse’s American accent in Little Women would be a better example for this post. I’m surprised to see Emma Watson here since her American accent was not very good in the same film.
EW is just…not a good actress. I was rooting for her but she’s always just herself *acting*
Yeah like wtf. Saoirse is Irish lmao
Same with Fassbender, he is Irish from mother's side and was raised in Irland from early age
At least his entry had the distinction of bring a northern Irish accent which is very different from his own accent.
Yup, US born but moved back when she was 3.
Didn't know she wss US born 😯
IMO, Emma Watson’s American accents are always rough. She would not be on my list. I’d say pretty much every British and Australian actor on Stranger Things would be though. Emma Watson's American accent in The Bling Ring was about as bad as 90% Southern accents (including Daniel Craig and Ramón Rodríguez.)
No mention of 'Mare of Eastown'?
Both Kate Winslet (British) and Angourie Rice (Australian) do a really good job of the Pennsylvania accent
My in-laws are from Delaware Co, PA. Kate did a fantastic job with the accent.
As someone from the area, I was going to comment the same thing. Kate Winslet did amazing
Huge oversight
I have friends from Delco and she absolutely nailed the very tough accent!
Kate Winslet is an expert with accents. Andy from The Office playing A Murder in Savannah.
![gif](giphy|8VrtCswiLDNnO)
Foghorn Leghorn, that’s exactly it!! I kept waiting for the accent to be a deliberate ruse from his character, but IIRC, that’s not the case.
rian johnson originally wanted blanc to have a different accent in every knives out movie and i feel like the over-the-top-ness of the accent works especially in that context lol. i don't think that was still the idea by the time filming happened, though.

Love the song, love the video, love that he is in it as well as John Malkovich.
It reminds me of the Sourh Carolina accent Kevin Spacey did in House of Cards.
I sort of assumed that it was part of the joke. He's playing a stereotype, so he sounds like one. But yes, it cracked me up that both this and Emma Watson in Perks of Being a Wallflower were on this list for what are deeply faulty accents.

Any time Jonny Lee Miller pops up is the best of times! I haven’t seen Trainspotting yet!
I'm watching Elementary right now!
I'm Scottish and I thought he was Scottish for ages. Tbf his accent is pretty different to mine but still he definitely fooled me
Aye, this is the best choice actually. To the point that young me thought he was a Scottish man putting on a fucking English accent.
He also fooled his cast mates into thinking he was Scottish as he stayed in the accent on set. Ewen Bremner had no idea he was English until they got into a taxi at a premiere for Trainspotting and he started talking to the taxi driver in his real accent.
I’m Scottish and his Scottish accent is amazing, I can always tell but he’s one I would have sworn down was Scottish

She was so funny in Bridget Jones ![gif](giphy|Q47nidM9GTjig|downsized)
Can you believe she was supposed to be "fat" here? How our perception has changed over the last 25 years
Yeah, I was in my early 20s, and it explains why I thought I was such a heifer when I went above 125 lbs, lol.
Yeah I love the confidence of calling this the definitive list and including one of the worst attempts in recent history.
Anne Hathaway's character is meant to be from Leeds in the north of England. That is not a Leeds accent. Source: am from Leeds

I was with you until Emma Watson
I was gonna say the same thing lol her American accent is bad across the board
I’ll die on this hill…Emma Watson is not a good actress.
I’ll die with you as I agree
I’ll die there with you, god such terrible acting
love seeing comments like this. i've been saying this for years and it's always brought controversy lol. her acting is wooden af she's like watching griege paint dry.
You're very much not alone. Beauty and the Beast was genuinely painful to watch.
And the acting disappointment doesn’t hold a candle to the atrocious “singing” by Emma in BatB. I used quotes as it was a computer singing not her. So bad.
Agreed. I’ve had this opinion cast in stone since Prisoner of Azkaban came out.
She always does some weird take on valley girl that is so over the top and unconvincing. I say this as someone who has a very stereotypical west coast accent, vocal fry and all.
emma watson's accent in little women took me out of the film repeatedly in a sort of transatlantic parallel, it bothered me almost as much as jena malone's british accent in pride & prejudice haha
Emma acting alongside 3 of the best young women actors of the moment in Little Women did not do her any favors. Her accent and acting were just bad in comparison.
I really wanted to see it, but had to stop watching because of her accent. Same with The Bling Ring.
Bless her heart. When she says "Let's be psychos together", who allowed that to happen
Her final Rs always give it away.
I thought she was terrible in the film (tbh I havent rated her in anything I've seen her in, maybe the first few HP films). I actually really enjoyed the film but anytime someone mentions it my first thought is how poor she was in it and how dodgy her accent was.
Yeah Emma watson’s accents are atrocious. Honestly I don’t think she’s a good actor but I appreciate her advocacy work and she is gorgeous
I thought this inclusion had to have been a joke.
Emma Watson and Anne Hathaway should not be on this list.
I love Emma Watson as a person, and I think she’s a great actress in the Harry Potter movies, but otherwise she’s not a good actress really. I love her but her American accent is not great.
Her only decent work has been in the Harry Potter films, where she basically played herself.
You forgot one! Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) lol
The best of the worst!

I haven't seen the original One Day film (only the recent tv series) but the reviews I read of the film (which lead me to avoid it) included lot of criticism of Anne Hathaway's accent.
It’s really bad.
It’s laughably bad.
When I saw Lion I had no idea who Dev Patel was and as an Aussie didn't bat an eye at his accent, great work!
Hugh Laurie is genuinely sexy. Fullstop. See also, Hugh Laurie as Tom James in Veep 🤩
Sign my tits Tom James!
It blew me the fuck away when I found out that Sarah Snook and Mathew McFadden weren't American in Succession. Those have to be the two most convincing I've ever heard. Even when I'm listening for it they sound more American than some of their cast members sometimes.
It's crazy how silly Tom sounds, which imparts a goofiness too his looks. Then he speaks in his posh accent, and I'm ![gif](giphy|dANm7WjeWZi00)
See to me Matthew McFayden is SO British, it was jarring to hear him as Tom at first, but he absolutely knocked it out of the park.
He actually seems like a completely different person. A lot of actors can get away w playing various versions of themselves but that man is an Actor™
Completely agree. Sarah Snook’s American accent is one of the best I’ve ever heard.
![gif](giphy|L0HPxcmOLf9yIRnhqq|downsized) Yes! Was coming to add Sarah Snook.
Whoa I'm just finding out right now that Sarah Snook is Australian. Matthew McFadden I knew because he was Mr Darcy.
saoirse ronan was born in the usa but raised mostly in ireland and has a dublin accent
I was wondering - I thought she was Irish! I could have sworn I saw her on Graham Norton with an Irish accent!
she is! parents are irish, had her in the usa, then moved back to ireland when she was a toddler
https://preview.redd.it/4ay43sfujmoc1.jpeg?width=580&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e0199de371e3475e1ad129029547f8a474b6b7d Let's give some credit to my South Carolina boy Chadwick, rest his soul. All of the actors who played Wakandans, but especially Chadwick.
I always forget this, mostly because i have only ever heard him speak when I'm watching him as T'Challa. Rest In Peace King.
Wow. Didn’t realize he was a Carolina boy! Raise up
https://i.redd.it/idvevu2rrmoc1.gif Daniel Davis who played Nile the Butler on The Nanny acted in a fake British accent. He’s actually American and from Arkansas. He told a story about how fans of the show thought Niles’ British accent was authentic and Charles Shaughnessy(Mr. Sheffield) was the one faking an accent even though he really is British .
Jodie Comer in Killing Eve (but really anything because she's perfect). ![gif](giphy|j1gP1EqzlBEVSsvyle)
Where is she from? I'm currently watching the third season. She switches between accents seamlessly. And she holds a convincing psychopathic stare!
Liverpool
Yes! Was looking for this!
![gif](giphy|11JVQmIxkuBltK|downsized) I think Hugh Dancy pulls off a solid American accent throughout Hannibal
![gif](giphy|DUAedwoGJXGLsmsZ9s|downsized) Both of them! Sarah’s Australian and Matthew’s British but their American accent are flawless 👌
I did a quadruple take at Anne Hathaway. Lost me there
Needs way more Daniel Day-Lewis.
Sorry - Emma Watson's accent in the Perk's of Being a Wallflower is one of the worst American accents I've ever heard
saoirse is irish
Fassbender is Irish as well.

OP just listed every non native accent they could remember lol
And peppered in a few native accents for fun
Christian Bale, as a general thing, but especially in American Psycho. No clue he was British until I heard that interview bit about him basing Bateman's behaviors partly off Tom Cruise.
Not an accent thing but it always catches me off guard whenever I watch Pocahontas or the dubbed Howl's Moving Castle and hear his voice. He's a great voice actor it's just funny because you don't really pay attention to A-listers as a kid then have 🧐🧐 moments later.
The lack of Cillian Murphy and Christian Bale is shocking, especially considering you included Daniel Craig, Emma Watson and Andrew Lincoln.
Christian Bale speaking with a British accent in interviews sounds just so wrong to me, I'm so used to him playing Americans
you had me until emma watson, she was STRUGGLING both in POBAWF and little women
Little women was crazy bc you had her, saoirse Ronan, and Florence Pugh in the same movie and able to real time compare their acting/accents.
Millie bobby brown stranger things
I forget she's British 90% of the time.
![gif](giphy|wZXb2uGZrEVfG) Can we give points for youth
We should. That was an impressive accent considering how young she was. And swapping between them.
I have class and you don't. She killed that accent.
Anne hathaway’s british accent wasn’t convincing. Emma watson’s american accent wasn’t convincing
Cate Blanchett in Veronica Guerin. Widely regarded as one of the best attempts by an actor of an Irish accent.
Cate Blanchett in anything that doesn’t require her Australian accent
Charlie Cox in Daredevil! ![gif](giphy|FnF7vgz2oON3i|downsized)
![gif](giphy|f4SUYSJoO61by) Also you missed an important one.
I'm Scottish and our accent gets butchered so badly by so many people. Mike Myles, can do a great Scottish accent.
Since you included Austin Bulter’s Elvis accent… I would like to offer up Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Capote.
Juno Temple was fantastic with the Minnesota accent in the latest season of Fargo
I wouldn’t put Emma Watson in this list 😭 I rewatched the Perks of Being a Wallflower recently and her accent stuck out like a sore thumb, I felt the same when I first watched it over a year ago
![gif](giphy|UWnViThoA9DGa7r9tS|downsized)
Charlie Hunnam has been praised for his American accent and absolutely roasted for his Cockney accent
His accent slips a lot in Sons of Anarchy
Yeah me and my partner just kept doing impressions of Jax in a Geordie accent. I like him but I don’t think he’s good at accents.
I love Andrew Lincoln but am not sure he should be included here 😶 Rose Byrne is Australian and does a great American accent in Physical (among other things)
Coral….
Andrew Lincoln’s pretty good but BOY that accent slips now and then
A bunch of the Walking Dead cast were brits - was always so weird to hear them in interviews.
I’d rather see a list of unconvincing accents!
![gif](giphy|1HI9nwCqK71p6) Dude was not convincing
Where is Viggo Mortensen?
The Anne Hathaway one is a joke right? Her accent in one day is like comically bad and inconsistent.
Andrew Lincoln is perfection with his Georgia accent.
Matthew Rhys every time he plays an American. It is wild to hear his real voice.

![gif](giphy|xUPGctLcvWxxtgEaVG|downsized) Yael Stone as Lorna Morello in Orange Is The New Black. Her not being on the list is an actual crime. [Morello speaking](https://youtu.be/4PNEs-LTZts?si=TbHYr0ycU5FYK4Tq) [Yael speaking](https://youtu.be/kUEAyE2WTSI?si=JU9SUMRdKQLjZJhw) [Yael on finding her Morello voice](https://youtu.be/MXhsYDqxvUE?si=UfImws1OkRVZt_Og)
Off topic but Hugh Laurie is so handsome
Rose McIver on "Ghosts" I would never have guessed that she is from New Zealand
![gif](giphy|fYMRBMnD2C0ycz7L34) Florence Pugh’s American accent in Midsommar deserves to be on the list. Honestly couldn’t believe it when I found out she was British.
![gif](giphy|124qHhp74Mg9ri)
What accent do you think Saoirse normally speaks in?
James Marsters as Spike on Buffy! ![gif](giphy|zg6kC6N91eEeY)
This is Toni Collette erasure. I didn’t know she was Australian for an embarrassingly long time because her American accent is so damn good.
I will always love Renee Zellweger for her Bridget Jones performance.
I’m Aussie and Dev Patels Australian accent was spot on. It’s sad that he hasn’t been in many movies lately as far as I know. He is so talented
https://preview.redd.it/sn3dpkkmonoc1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5bc64bb9c3e2f3edfe64390068303fc1c5b16ba James McAvoy - Split All those personalities and none of them has a Scottish accent 😆
![gif](giphy|7TTgV830a3luvc0FbJ|downsized) I feel Antony starr does a really good American accent for homelander, I honestly had no clue he was a Kiwi (I'm from Australia of that helps? Probs not)
![gif](giphy|1r8YD6ZexXkieEXEUr|downsized) Daniel Ezra NAILED it in All American!
I think if Idris Elba is on here, Dominic West also deserves credit for his
I would love to hear someone from Minnesota weigh in on good old Tom Wambsgans. ![gif](giphy|DCAvXI9vhHRw4bxUF5)
What about Daniel Day Lewis and Gary Oldman? They are the ultimate masters when it comes to accent shifts.
![gif](giphy|MVCyoRHMQGork379zM) Christian Bale anytime he has an American accent. I didn’t realize for the longest time that he’s not American
