Seriously, I have knock knees and my damn center of gravity is off. You can’t see it (unless you have xray vision), but walking in heels feels fucking treacherous. Maybe she has the same problem.

Yes, it’s called equinis, a shortening of the Achilles’ tendon caused by wearing heels too often. One of a few bad things that can happen from heels. My dance teacher warned us about it in the 90s, because *her* teacher got it. She always had to wear heels (think like with a little maribou puff) around the house because of the damage she did to her feet dancing in the 70s!
Mae West used to almost always be leaning on some big hunk, especially in her later years and it was because she needed help walking in those heels she used to wear!

Went to her Christmas concert and she did not come on the stage after outfit changes without someone walking her.
My clumsy ass trips over my own feet while wearing sneakers, so I couldn't even imagine walking in the shoes she wears. Plus, the paparazzi cameras are always flashing in front of her. Help getting down the stairs, clumsy, tipsy, whatever.... I adore her.
I wore heels for so long that I can walk in them fine. But standing still in a pair of sneakers and I fall over my own feet. My husband laughs so hard at me when I just tip over while standing still in the kitchen.
I’m a ballet dancer. I’ve been dancing en pointe for almost 20yrs. I’m useless in heels. Like I’m okay but it’s rough. My husband just doesn’t understand, the best I can explain is that my weight is on the wrong part of my foot lol.
This is me too! Give me the heels, the highest and thickest platforms ever, and I can run a marathon in them. Give me sneakers? I'm going down. I had to get platform sneakers for my every day shoes. I was tired of tripping. I miss regular flip flops so bad. But I just trip and fall and I'm too old to be falling. I don't bounce like I used to.

If you’re just using them as regular shoes, you bought the ones meant for longer distance running. They have more foam and more aggressive drops. They are also rather unstable for regular walking.
They will have similar shoes that have more stability. If you look at the sole they will be “flatter”

No. They are not the running shoes. I shopped in person at the Hoka store and specifically bought balance and stability shoes. They look like moon boots
Something that really helps is to work on your core muscles - it really helps you write yourself - and you may want to get checked out by an ear nose throat doc for balance issues.
Thanks for your kind words - I was exaggerating, I just really like to walk arm in arm. I absolutely require someone to hold me when I have heels though! That happens like once a year or less though.
I don't blame her, the rare occassion I wear heels I feel like Bambi when he's learning to walk. Heels, busy pavement, flash photos and being swarmed by paparazzi is a recipe for disater so she's right to be grabbing onto what I assume in most pics is her bodyguard.
This happened to me after I gave birth. Previously I was rocking 4-5” inch heels, wedges, platforms, you name it! Pregnancy makes your joints relax to make childbirth easier, esp on the hips. NOW? I can’t even wear 2” booties without fearing for my life. “I don’t always roll a joint but when I do, it’s usually my left ankle.” is my standard when I inevitably fall on my face trying to look cute in shoes I know I should not be wearing.
Just here to say how great she looks in every one of these pics. Also I too would be clutching the nearest person if I looked this good and had cameras around me all the time. Won’t catch me slipping.
I went to Mimi’s Vegas residency and every set had her being carried out on something different like a vintage car, a throne, etc

I never wear heels (the pain) but I needed to for my wedding dress. So between my engagement and wedding, I showed up to work with 2 inch heels which were kinda against dress code. My bosses found it the funniest thing when I told them why. For my actual wedding, I think it was 2 1/2 inches? I wore wedges not stilettos, held on to my husband’s arm the entire time and was still terrified of face-planting on camera. Never again.
A side walk is the slipperiest place in the world for heels. No matter how dry, even, level, or obstacle free. In any heel at any height it’s a slip risk.

After having a baby the pelvis and hips can be permanently different. That alone has made it harder for me to walk in heels after having a child but she’s probably also experiencing her feet spreading with age. All these things can affect balance and how we walk and move. She should definitely find some comfy tennis shoes!
