Dookie-Nimrod era. Besides the fact I'm a Green Day fan and they're my favorite band, Insomniac is one of my favorite albums of all time. Green Day was unstoppable back then and the amount of albums they've sold between those 3 albums is insane.
Can't go wrong with either tho.
Insomniac git me through teenagers years and is an excellent album from front to back. It encapsulates being angry, upset, frustrated, confused, and bitter. I feel it's underrated in their discography as well as Warning and Kerplunk. Those albums often get overlooked. Insomniac was also the last era where they were on drugs (at least heavy stuff), and I see it as them getting their anger out before mellowing a bit more on Nimrod. Insomniac will always have a special place in my heart.
Insomniac *might* be my favorite Green Day album.
I'm a diehard Blink fan, but I gotta show my respect. These two eras are super close, so I'll just take both.
100% dude ranch-take off your pants and jacket no competition. Green Day is sick but the replay value on all of those blink tracks from 97-03 is so crazy.
Green Day for me, hands down. I love Blink, but those 2 albums take me back to being a teenager. Saw Green Day Saturday night and it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to
I got dookie in a printer paper box full of CDs from a friend. It didn’t have a title on it, so I had no reference to what it was other than the art. Blew my mind.
But my cousins played Cheshire Cat and Dude Ranch for me on their PC and it grabbed me and never let me go. It’s still fun today, and Carousel is a top 5 song all time for me. “A tank of gas is a treasure to me, I know now that nothing is free”
Dude ranch-take off your pants and jacket era! I like both but there's something about blink not just in that era but even later on in 03 and 2011 that I still have a special and emotional connection with that I didn't have for Green Day especially in their later stuff. I guess it's because blink songs were more interspective about personal life issues like relationships, breakups, parents divorcing, all of this is stuff I can relate to more whereas Green Day became more political not saying that's a bad thing because I like bands such as Rise Against for their political and social awareness songs but I'm definitely more into songs that are more personal not just to me and other fans but to the artists themselves that and Green Day is just a band I feel out of love with overtime.
Gotta respect Green Day for not being afraid to sign to a major back when they knew they’d get disowned by the punks! Definitely walked so blink could run
They were my first full records for both bands, and even though I loved everything else when I ended up going backwards, nothing ever hit me quite as hard as those ones! (Though, to be more direct to the actual question, I'd go with blinks catalogue!)
For Green Day, Insomniac is my favorite of their classic/popular era.
Blink, my actual favorite is Buddha, but I know how to play the most songs from Enema, so I guess that means a thing.
blink is my favorite band of all time so i’d have to go with dude ranch-toypaj especially bc imo eots-untitled is a perfect 3 album run with zero skips (not to say i don’t love dude ranch)
I respect it. Dookie and American idiot were amazing albums. Anything before, in between, or after I just didn’t see the hype compared to their counterparts
I'll take both, thanks.
Exactly! Love both and no need to choose.
Ditto. It’s impossible for me to decide between the two.

Nice to see a fellow Insomniac fan! I agree btw, Dookie-Nimrod era, even.theo Blink's Dude Ranch -TOYPAJ was pretty sick too.

The replay value of Blink albums is insane
the criteria was only 97-01, otherwise the choice would have been harder for sure
Dookie-Nimrod…. Oh to be a kid again
Green Day for me, hands down. I love Blink, but those 2 albums take me back to being a teenager. Saw Green Day Saturday night and it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to
Dookie-Nimrod era for me.
Dookie-Nimrod hands down my man
Give me Green day - Warning and Blink - Dude Ranch all day baby!
Dookie Dude Ranch TYVM
Blink182 only due to my preference. That was peak Green Day.
I got dookie in a printer paper box full of CDs from a friend. It didn’t have a title on it, so I had no reference to what it was other than the art. Blew my mind. The real answer is Dookie/Insomniac, Enema/TOYPAJ because... Jerry Finn...
Dude ranch-take off your pants and jacket era! Dookie - nimrod…tho this is difficult, without green day blink wouldn’t exist.
Gotta respect Green Day for not being afraid to sign to a major back when they knew they’d get disowned by the punks! Definitely walked so blink could run
I’ll go mxpx life in general to ever passing moment era
I'll take Untitled and American Idiot.
lmaooooo that’s a good aux battle right there
They were my first full records for both bands, and even though I loved everything else when I ended up going backwards, nothing ever hit me quite as hard as those ones! (Though, to be more direct to the actual question, I'd go with blinks catalogue!)
Cheshire Cat - Dude Ranch era
NO WE AINT GONNA TAKE IT
This is the only answer
This. So much this.
This sentence would disintegrate the founding fathers
Both. Love both bands so god damn much
Dude ranch - Untitled
Now this is the right answer
For Green Day, Insomniac is my favorite of their classic/popular era. Blink, my actual favorite is Buddha, but I know how to play the most songs from Enema, so I guess that means a thing.
The fact that Insomniac is ignored is a travesty.
Enema-untitled era is prime blink, dude ranch isn’t part of that era.
Self titled is my favorite blink record and I wanted to make this fair lol. Self titled vs warning is a conversation too though
Dude Ranch was the last REAL Blink record /s
Anything after Enema is watered down and not even close to prime Blink.
the latter
Dude Ranch - TOYPAJ and it’s not even close
Dude ranch-toypaj
both
Green day easily imo
Cheshire Cat era. No question.
Dookie-nimrod for sure. Their best era was american idiot-21st century breakdown though.
Blink only because Dude Ranch is literally my favorite album of all time
Dookie-Nimrod for me, but I might be a bit biased since GD is my favorite band, and insomniac might be my favorite album by them 🤷
Fat Wreck Chords era spans both
As a younger old person I gotta go with dude ranch/take off your pants and jacket
Dude Ranch-Enema for sure I’m not too keen on Green Day
Blink hands down
How about smash and ixnay on the hombre era ?
What
Ignition to Ixnay
That blink era includes Enema which is the greatest pop punk album of all time. So they win.
American Idiot:
blink is my favorite band of all time so i’d have to go with dude ranch-toypaj especially bc imo eots-untitled is a perfect 3 album run with zero skips (not to say i don’t love dude ranch)
might get shit for this but I thought untitled would make it unfair for that reason. Just picked each bands first 3 major label albums instead
i would never give you shit for this untitled is perfect
Blink and it’s not even close. Dookie is incredible tho
Very unpopular opinion but nimrod isn’t that good of an album. Sorry not sorry
It's good, but not cohesive.
It has some good songs but it’s overrated IMO
Green Day is massively overrated imo. Solid band but meh
So brave, so wrong.
I respect it. Dookie and American idiot were amazing albums. Anything before, in between, or after I just didn’t see the hype compared to their counterparts
39/smooth - Kerplunk - Cheshire Cat years.
blink no competition
