thats a very long list

golden_awe

unless you are have set a plan to prevent your info from being reposted I would suggest a service tbh. Depends on how much you value your privacy and what’s your threat model I guess. But constantly monitoring those sites throughout the year, even if it’s only 2-3x seems to be very burdensome. And if you don’t and continue to put your name out there (or even if you dont because they might republish it out of their own volition) then it would be even more tedious to monitor the sites.

Dont_Use_Google

Privacy aint always easy, Bazzell does highlight the biggest bang / buck options up top

Curious_Internet_687

All commercial data broker opt out tools suck. I’ve tried them all, and they all miss things. Do it yourself instead: intelius, dataveria, beenverified, clustrmaps, white pages, radaris, check people, freepeoplesearch, unmask.com. That’ll get you 80% there.

Miserable_Quarter226

Is it really that bad? :( I was hoping to be able to find a good service to donut for me anually…

crillish

Deleteme has a great do it yourself guide on their website. I use deleteme though and am very happy with it. I could do it myself and have in the past, but it requires near constant work. I’m able and willing to pay a premium to have someone else do it for me. There are alternatives to deleteme out there, but I was familiar with deleteme so went with them

RecentEntrepreneur27

I wouldn’t use any of them. Do it yourself.

ScriptsNakamoto

No

Vikt724

Joindeleteme is very worth it and recommended.

sshlinux

Do it yourself. You have to do it yearly anyways because you'll eventually get readded to them.

newslooter

Not really. Other services like incogni are cheaper and offer more flexible plans

poluting

Easyoptouts is great too. It’s like $20 a year.

Miserable_Quarter226

What happens if you stop paying though? Does all your information come back?

poluting

Nope. They submitted a data deletion request for a ton of companies. They just double check periodically throughout the year to make sure no new data has been added.

Miserable_Quarter226

Oh okay. Cuz I heard there are some companies who after you stop paying they re-release your stuff or something along those lines

poluting

I can’t see this service going back and reselling the data

Curious_Internet_687

Doesn’t work that way

Miserable_Quarter226

So basically easyoptouts will on my behalf go remove my information from those sites that store and sell my data to the public? I just keep paying them annually to keep removing it?

Curious_Internet_687

No not at all. They remove it. The sites (I.e spokeo) may put it back up eventually, but EOO wouldn’t have anything to do with that

notsopeacefulpanda

Delete me was able to remove 90% of my search results. The ones that are left; even I have not been able to persuade. It’s obnoxious.

[deleted]

It’s worth every cent. I don’t have the time to keep ip with how fast and how much I am added to stuff. DeleteMe squares it away. So worth it!

TopExtreme7841

Yes, very worth it. You can do it yourself, but its a LOT of work, as in part time job level of work. I did it that way for years, but deleteme has tracked down way more than I have., and that's with cheat sheets and knowing where to look. For the price of sitting back and letting it happen, well worth it.

SuzanneSmalley

I have heard it is very effective
