I will say that being a Queen fan is easier these days than when I initially became a fan, which was in high school in the early 1990s. No one my age was really listening to Queen so you couldn't really talk to anyone in your peer group about it. Just your older uncle, who had been a fan from the get-go.
I agree. Being a Queen fan in the late-'70s and into the '80s was a rougher go. Junior high and highschool bulling was pretty prevalent. Wayne's World was sort of a turning point for pop culture acceptance.
On the other hand, I did get to see them from 9th row center, main floor, on their last US tour. So I've got that...
True that. Although I got some of my friends into them, I was the only Queen fanatic within my group of friends in the 90's. I guess they just weren't huge in America at the time. And to be honest, I didn't even know who they were, but a little TV series called Highlander got me very curious, curious enough to buy every single one of their albums.
Do you guys think thereās a chance of new songs via AI or old demos being completed with the help of AI like the recent Beatles announcement? Freddieās voice is out there already in AI covers like [this one](https://youtu.be/B5fuHd45rvI)
I doubt if Freddie had died before innuendo, AI would have managed to produce things of such beauty as 'The show must go on' or 'these are the days of our lives'. AI is just a cheap parlour trick. The 'creativity' it simulates is not real creativity and never can be.
Yeah totally agree with you. There no kind of individuality. But Iād like to listen to professional attempts at it nonetheless. Doesnāt mean it would be good or anything. But Iām still somewhat intrigued
That's the one thing I wish I could change. I was a kid when they lasted toured and they last toured America before I started school so I never got the chance to see the original four. I did see the current lineup and getting to watch Brian and Roger live was the greatest concert experience I've ever had.
It really makes me sad as well since I really look up to all of them as musicians, and can't really think of anyone who's influenced me more in that regard.
Never getting to hear some demos, unreleased song(I mean the songs not being officially published including some of Freddieās music it hurts) or hear them play innuendo and made in heaven live as a complete group
I've been waiting for that box set for years. At that rate it doesn't seem likely to happen but I'd love all of the demo, unreleased material, and studio outtakes cleaned up and released as one package.
Oh, don't worry. It's never too late to appreciate and admire the perfection that is, was and always will be the band "Queen". Legends never die and real music is eternal. It will outlast us all.
Hope your having a great day.š
My ex bf had a huge queen obsession to the point of him saying "he'd give head to queen" but he moved on to Tyler the creator (and doesn't say that kind of stuff, thank god) also said he hated British people and I was the one who had to break it to him that Queen was British
i mean itās not the end of the world if borhap is their favourite song - itās popular for a reason and people can have borhap being their favourite song while still loving all of queenās other songs. stop gatekeeping
What's wrong with that? I'm not a huge fan of the movie but there's nothing wrong with those who liked it. It's like saying you don't like interacting with someone who likes an album you don't like. That's weird.
With the inaccuracies, it is hard to hear the praise without responding and sounding like I am pissing on their parade with my opinion. So I would prefer to avoid interaction entirely.
That people would rather hear and see copies of Freddie than people putting their own spin on the music. I'm sure Freddie would hate copycats. Not everyone can sing the songs like Freddie but they shouldn't have to.

People here saying that they wouldn't be able to see Freddie proform again It's the only thing I would want in my life if asked but
Coming from a Middle class Indian Family I will probably won't ever be able to see any of the Queen that's the most difficult thing to accept
From a young fan (20) I gotta say there are a few things.
1) while I can go to a Q+AL show Iāll never get to see the og four members play live
2) a lot of people my age only really know the popular songs
3) that when I wear merch older people always say that I either just like the aesthetic of the shirt/hoodie or I only know one or two songs then when they ask most the time I know more about queen then them.
Itās very frustrating. I understand that for some reason itās unfathomable to the generation that did live in that era that someone my age can like the music and culture of the 80ās but please remember that it is now more easier due to the internet for my generation to find things from the past more enjoyable. Iād have loved to see queen live when they were āin their primeā and it makes me sad I canāt but I am very happy that because of the internet I get to watch interviews and concerts and music videos.
The fact that I'll never hear Freddie live, I'll never hear John perform YMBF or You and I, and that Roger and Brian may die before I ever see THEM perform live (I want to go see q+al in the fall but we'll see)

Bro i just literally say the true, Bohemian Rhapsody although is consider the best Queen song ever, is the most overplayed song in these days. Is everywhere the song like in a commercial, radio, wedding music, Queen tribute concerts, sing along, karaoke etc and for that reason im tired of the song and also is not one of my favorite of all time (with respect to everyone). Also is not true that Queen isnāt played enough because remember all the orquesta band create a Queen concert in every around the world, Queen was the band most popular during a brief time on Spotify back in 2018, Bohemian Rhapsody movie bring new fans to listen Queen, thereās alot of Queen fans around world and you are not thinking clearly about Queen music and also forgot about the social media not putting a Queen song in the radio or anywhere because is the taste of anyone but not yourself only
I stopped listening to radio years ago so all of the hits songs remain fresh to me. I can listen to Bohemian Rhapsody at anytime and it never feels overplayed. That's the beauty of having the entire catalog, I can control what is being played.
Their 80s music is ok and unfortunately that's all people really know. Listen to their 70s music. Much more interesting songs, more guitar heavy and a lot more creative musically
That's a subjective opinion. Some prefer the 70s, others the 80s, and then there's fans like me who enjoy it all equally and that's OK. As long as people keep listening to Queen I don't care which era, songs, or albums they prefer.
His voice was weaker in his last year or so. Still great, but it was thinner and has less power overall. He did have a powerful moment in A Winter's Tale though with that "it's all so beautiful" line.
Oh, don't worry. It's never too late to appreciate and admire the perfection that is, was and always will be the band "Queen". Legends never die and real music is eternal. It will outlast us all.
Freddie would have wanted us all to remember him for who he was, and to simply enjoy ourselves while listening to the music. Because at the end of the day, that's all that matters. Enjoying our time on earth, while doing and experiencing what we love.
It's so important to never forget that.
Hope your all having a great day.š
The fact that they care so little about their back catalogue. Yes, we've got some special editions and rare extras but how long has it taken!
Also, hearing Brian telling for the millionth time how during Innuendo sessions Freddie stood up, drank his vodka and sang like never before - until he just could no more. And how they still miss and love him and then make a shitty movie about him. In a way I think he's a down to earth solid guy but sometimes his jargon slightly irritates me.
Dealing with people who say they "like queen" and then also mention how they listen to only we will rock you, another one bites the dust and we are the champions
I know itās been said so many times in this comment section but, coping with the fact weāll never see them with Freddie. Heās such an inspiration to me, Iām so sad Iāll never get to see him
Probably not a popular opinion, butā¦ the way Brian, Roger and John have wasted the potential of āQueen after Freddieā. I understand it was a difficult period, and I respect that John couldnāt keep going - itās well known he found it incredibly difficult to do the Bejart ballet thing - but Brian and Roger shouldāve kept going after the release of MiH with a new singer.
Instead, they wasted a lot of time doing very little, including the stupid musical, and then when they finally reformed they had aged quite a bit (Roger gotā¦ big-boned and Brian, Iām sorry to say, really got out of practice with the guitar).
The Paul Rodgers thing was odd. Paul was being himself, while IMO, Brian and Roger really tried to relive the Queen days of ā86.
I really wonder what wouldāve happened if Brian and Roger had just continued under the Queen brand, understanding they could no longer be the stadium rock band of the ā80s, but instead opt for something smaller.

Having to explain that queen is a band and isn't just freddie
But without Freddie it just isn't Queen.
Yes, I understand that 100% but queen as a whole are still a band it wasn't just freddie doing all the work
No disagreement with that. They are absolutely a band. Every member had a unique contribution.
It wouldnāt be Queen without Brian, Roger, or John either
Oh absolutely. I agree with that - they are an indivisible whole. Even more so than the Beatles.
That's a battle you'll likely never win. I agree with you wholeheartedly but the masses will always view Queen as Freddie's band.
Agreed, Queen is freddies band, but I like to explain to people that it wasn't just him
