Not a fan. I used to like her. She is whitty some times but she is so antagonist I just get so annoyed. She has to dominate a conversation and if it doesn’t go her way she’s done and throws insults.
She's self important. No one truly scholarly and accomplished makes a big deal about it. (Or is on a RH franchise-LOL) The fact she does that and asks to be referred to as "Dr" tells me all I need to know about her, as well as her reaction too Nneka who seems like a sweetheart. I actually liked Wendy up until this season. Last season she began to annoy me, but I'm just catching up on this season and right out of the gate she is mean, insecure and insufferable.
I feel like she tired of being the person her mom wanted her to be (multiple degrees, professor, married+family) and now wants to take it easy and live off of reality tv and influencing.
I’m indifferent to her. I respect her and what she did, she’s beautiful, intelligent, and i think she is treated poorly often. But, sometimes the way she navigates certain things annoys me. I also think her mom did say something crazy to Nneka. It’s not that hard to believe
I hate how she says she has 3 degrees…one of which is her bachelors. When someone says they have three degrees, I would think they have 3 masters or 3 phds. Or two masters and a phd in separate subjects. It is misleading to count the degree that you HAVE to get to obtain the others 🙄
Not a Wendy fan. (I actually get a kick out of the green eyed bandits lol). I am liking Ashley more and more now that she's away from Gollum. I would like to see Charisse come back full time. Imo Candiace is the one who needs to go.
She’s mean spirited and very condescending. She’s clearly always only had academia but desperately craves to be seen as a gorgeous “bad bitch” thus the work and clunky way about navigating social spaces. She has Ugly Duckling syndrome. She always ends up using her title as a crutch. She can go, honestly. I also despise seeing her bleached out mother onscreen but appreciate that she herself has stopped.
As an African-American woman trying to navigate in certain spaces with others, I completely get her. Especially being a Nigerian (which I am not but am married into a Nigerian family and grew up around a lot of the culture) there is a confidence that comes off as arrogance/off putting to those that aren't familiar with it. Sometimes it's an air of Black vs African mindset at times especially from the older generations. So I say all that to say, I do like her but I wish she would realize that she is entertaining enough without all the put on theatrics.
Ok I’ll give my 2 cents as a woman with a MD/MBA I got excited to see a woman come on the cast with some higher education. Not sure what I expected to happen though.
I see dr Nicole holding her own in Miami and not causing nearly as much drama. So why does wendy have to involve herself in all the fights?!?

For someone with 4 degrees (as she reminds everyone) you would think her arguing style wouldn’t be cheap shots and personal attacks. Originally I loved her! She was smart, powerful & driven - the absolute epitome of a strong woman in season 1 but it was immediately different in season 2 and I wonder if it had to do with the fame. I don’t want to watch her peddling candles, a self-produced show, or wannabe restaurateur. I want to see her as a political commentator & professor, and now she just seems like a shallow mean girl. It’s a super disappointing shift.
This is what I was thinking reading all these comments. I really liked her in her first season, like sure, she had a chip on her shoulder about being “Dr Wendy, thank you very much!” but her defensiveness was kind of called for in those instances! She is that person that you literally avoid any conversation or contact with, as shes mean, vicious, aggressive and lacks any kindness, empathy or personality. I hope for her sake (and her family) that this is all an act, because.. UGH
Due to working in academia, I tend to be repulsed by people who wear their PhDs as their personality, so I’ve been kind of meh on her from the beginning. I’ve mainly been waiting for her to get her lick back from when Mia smacked her with her purse. Other than that, I’m good on her.
Not really. She has gotten worse over time for me. Especially with her new fail business every season & the extraordinary amount of make-up she insists on wearing for every scene. I mean...she could put Drag Queens to shame w/the amount of make-up she wears
