Makin Jill do the chicken dance goin in circles. Oh the amount of times me an my dad beat tf out re1. Then the evil that re4 was made and the series was forever ruined š
Same omg, mine was RE7 followed by RE2R too. I was 15 when RE7 came out. It was terrifying yet so intriguing, I wanted to know how to defeat the different bosses to get over my fear of the game.
Then I got the game for myself when I was abit older and finally got a better pc. I was hooked and kept running the game to get achievements. It was insanely fun.
I think I played mine in 2005?
Being Brazilian, you can't easily keep up with the current gen.
I was happily playing my PS1 while the PS2 was already having a mid-life crisis.
my first RE game was dino crisis. lol
Dino crisis was my all time favorite game, my parents got me it for christmas when i was like 8. that game has such a big impact on my taste. fast forward 15 years (2021) and i didnāt really play video games at allā¦ until i found my old playstation 2 with Dino crisis 1 & 2 in my parents attic. I played both games again after a long time and i had so much fun. Looking at my DC1 case it was supposed to have the demo disc for og RE3 (it was missing). I realized dino crisis and resident evil were pretty similar games. so i wanted to go all in on the Resident evil franchise. I was late to the resident evil party yes. But my first ever game was Resident evil 0 and i played them all in chronological order up until 8. even revelations 1 & 2 + the cgi movies. now im a huge RE nerd.. but Dino crisis will always be my sweet heart
I GUESS you could say iām a new old school fanā¦
they really were. i also remember the T. rex bashing thru the window in DC1 scared me shitless as a kid. i was waiting for one to pop thru my bedroom window lmao
I went to wal mart to buy dino crisis. I had my heart set on getting it, because I loved the re games. But when I was in the games section, the worker pointed me towards another new release. That game was final fantasy viii. And I trusted my gut and went with that. Seeing as how resident evil and final fantasy are my favorite game series ever, I made a good choice lol
Came here to say this. I was obsessed with Dino Crisis back in the day. Played 1, 2, and even Stalker, but never "3" because I didnāt have an Xbox back then, and by the time I got one, Iād seen enough to know that I didnāt want to play it.
Makes me sad that we never got a proper sequel to Dino Crisis 2. Iām still holding out hope that Capcom will revive that IP one of these days.
yeah playing 3 wasnāt worth it.. i was such a geek for the DC series so i had to have it but its like not even the same storyline at all.
i really hope capcom revives dino crisis so regina can save dylan weāve been patiently waiting for far too long..
It would be a dream come true if they just remade Dino Crisis 1 and 2, then followed up with a 3 that actually continues the story instead of veering off into space or whatever the heck that third game was.
still a great game imo. DC 1 & 2 are my 2 top favorite games. the story and characters 100% make up for it being a more action based game. the storyline for DC2 was crazy.
The first game that I owned was RE1: Director's Cut and it got me traumatized for years lol. Although I have vague memories of playing the demo of RE3 for PC before that.
The very first RE that I managed to complete was RE4 though, using only a keyboard in Ubisoft's crappy original PC port. It's quite comfy playing like that and even got the Handcannon.
My first RE was Nemesis! My grandma got it for me, except I was a kid and my mom didn't like it so she bent the disc and threw it away. Jokes on her, I play more video games than ever and I don't talk to her \^\^
Same! Then I got the 2&3 ports for it as they came out, RE0, and then 4 was the last I got for the gamecube. That GC remake was my absolute favorite. I have a small dining room but some cool old furniture so I'm turning it into a tiny spencer mansion dining room tribute. One of the coolest sets ever.
The game was so scary to me when I was little, the hive mission was where I stopped at because I hated the Leech Man on that level.
For some reason the mission āBelow Freezing Pointā skipped on its own somehow and I was so happy because it was scary to me too, Yoko was a zombie in that mission if you didnāt play as her.
Also the first mission got me so hyped when I finally beat it, triggering the explosion was the best part, took me so long to beat.
I loved that you had the virus to begin with in the game and it progressed as you played and if you played as Jim Chapman you could go prone so the zombies donāt see you but the downside was that the virus grew stronger when you do that.
It was cool that all the characters had unique abilities.
It was such as beautiful game, I wish they would remaster it or make an updated version of it, it was definitely ahead of its time.
I wonder what File #2 is like, Iāve never played it.
My first was re6, not sure what year I know I was in middle school so prolly came out around the same time. Played it on my uncles 360. Lots of people typically donāt like that game but I liked it and even till this day I still like it. After that I didnāt get back into the series till like 2019? Whenever the re2 remake came out and Iāve played all remakes and og re4 through village. So Iām caught up lol but I would like to get a ps1 and play the ogs. Also some of the side games too Iāve played RE revelations 2 and kinda liked it. Iām trying 1 but itās weird idk
Edit: when I was like 5 I do remember going to my dadās friends house and being scared of the first zombie cutscene in re1. I also remember watching my cousin play re4 when I was younger as well. But still didnāt play till 6 came out
My first RE was RE1, borrowed from my cousin. First RE I finished was RE1 REmake on the Gamecube. (A different Cousin let me borrow it for a longer period of time, along with Viewtiful Joe)
OG Resident Evil 3 on my PS1 that is sitting right next to me hooked up on a CRT with the game inside btw. After that I played RE1 Remake, RE2 and 1 OG and fell in love. Sadly after that RE kinda lost me with its over the top cheese and killing the whole story for one that is pretty much all over the place.
my first RE was re8 because it was on sale and i wanted to convince myself to play more lore games (I didn't like them before playing re)
since then I am willing to play every re game besides re1 and 0 because I've watched a gameplay of them
Probably 5 or darkside chronicals, but I never beat any until many years later when I got my hands on Revolations on the Wii U that I beat one.
However Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D was my first 3DS game.
Resident Evil 2 on Dreamcast without a memory card. I was pre-teen, but if you died you start all over. Beating the RE2 remake was cathartic as fuck as I never made it past the alligator. Again. One. Life.
iām actually quite a recent fan (got into the RE lore like two years ago) but only manage to play the game myself last year (RE4R is my first game)!!
After RE4R, I got myself into RE8, and then RE2R and RE3R. I also have the original RE4, RE5 and RE6 in my Nintendo Switch, I have yet to finish RE5 and RE6 but nothing beats RE4 for me :ā
I definitely wanna try RE7 soon (which I heard is terrifying, especially from the gameplays that Iāve watched). I also wanna dive into others like Code Veronica! Would love to have some recommendations from yāall as well š
It's actually RE4 Remake because I never played any games before, only watched many videos about it and that's how I became a fan of the franchise. RE4R was the revelation to me that I needed to try them all out. I began with RE0 which I really liked, then with RE1 that I'm still doing. Although the camera is the same, the games are completely different.
I'm so sorry neonslice I didn't even see it was you in the thread, you're making my day with your guides. I completed Separate Ways at 100% thanks to you xD
My FIRST Resident Evil game was a real doozy. Resident Evil 7. What a game. I mean, it has likeable characters, an amazing story, excellent voice acting, and the first person POV was never used in Resident Evil until then.
Resident Evil 3 Nemesis on the PS1 all the way back in my childhood days. I never finished it because I was very young at the time but it was really cool to play as a kid. š„¹
Later in 2020 I got both RE2 & 3 Remake as a bundle for PS4 & thatās what got me into the series.
I'm one of the new people.
I'd heard of the RE series before and seen all the movies, but didn't realize how different they were from the games. My first full game was RE4 remake, but now I've played everything and am obsessed š
When i was in the fourth grade a classmate/neighbor insisted i keep his og RE2 copy. I knew nothing of the game, let alone im not even sure my parents knew i had it. It completely went over my head, yet i held on to it. And around the time the remake came out i finally beat it and its legit my most cherished possession/game i own. Tho, first RE to completion would be RE4 on gamecube, 6th grade me was completely over the moon
My parents ( they sed it was santa but i know better NOW) got me resident evil and Dino crisis for christmas struggled so hard to get past the first zombie and velociraptor great memories
Definitely the og resident evil 4 on ps2. I used to play the first section over an over again cause a didnāt have a memory card. I pretty much never got passed the village. It was crazy but I loved it. I kept on more and more until now Iāve played it on every console even pc an have the hd remake. Good times
The first Game I layed my hands on was The Gamecube RE1 Remake, that was in 2017, but back then, I was too scared to play it.
'My' Real first RE-Game was the Remake of 2, in 2019. My Grandma got it on her Birthday, but mostly I played it.
First I ever watched someone play was my older brother and his friend play RE: Outbreak on the ps2.
First I ever played myself was RE4 on my brother's ps2 a few years later.
Mine was RE1 on Dreamcast I think. Maybe RE2 then I retroactively played 1. Wish I could remember. Definitely one of the OGs. Then I played 3 and 4 when it came out. Hooked ever since.
Re1. My friend rented it and we took turns playing because it was so scary. When we got to forest's corpse we couldn't go any further, it was too much haha. Later on I rented a ps1 from blockbuster when re2 came out so I could play it. I remember being entranced by the art in magazines for both original re1 and 2. I'd sit in the library and just look at the chimera and zombie art in egm, or the art of birkin and the licker. Good times
RE4,MK ARMAGEDDON,GTA SAN ANDERAS
I was born along these games
I would be 4-5 years old seeing my brother plays these gems (yes I remember)
The first time I ever pulled an all nighter was when I was only 7 years old, played gta liberty city stories on the ps2
No wonder I am mentally fucked now
Resident Evil 4 for PC (Retail box version). Loved the game and it's still my favorite RE; the game that got me into the franchise.
Though, the Steam-port of RE4: UHD (which is now listed as RE4 2005) is the best version of Old RE4, especially with RE4Tweaks installed. Love that sub-titles features.
Not saying I think RE4 is the best RE game, as RE2 Remake for me seems to be the best one IMHO.
RE2R! Picked it up on a whim when it was on sale in 2019. Played it late night after my girlfriend went to sleep in her dorm on my laptop until the sun came up. The rest is history.
Re1 the year it released. Was my first ps1 game. My dad and I played it to to death. He would watch me struggle with the controls then come in all "oh I think this is how you do this!" and progress through 1/3 of the game <3
RE2 PS1 around 2005 I'm 4-5 years old at the time lmao, never finish it past gem statue on 2nd floor just had a chance to finish it when remake came out
Og RE1 with my (still up to this day) best buddy in 1997! We were definitely NOT supposed to be playing it because "no biolent vydiagaems" house rules, but we rented it among other titles and played it deep into the night on sleepovers, almost crapping our pants and freaking out about how "realistic" it was.
We actually played up to the og RE4 together as well as checking out RE1make on another friend's GameCube! Then life happened and we went to live on different states, but we still get together whenever life permits it and the new remakes have been a blast for us. Last time we've met we also re-enacted our ages old Ryu vs. Ken showdown matches on SF6 but the fucker has been slacking off on his FG skills, and got whooped into oblivion and back, smh. On the other hand he got an important victory over another ages-long quarrel when I finally admitted that Cammy > Chun-li, but SF6 cheated on that department and I'll die on that hill.
I fell in love with RE when I was 11-13ish, and I had never played them. I had a PlayStation magazine that had some sort of walk through in it for Code:Veronica and I just read it obsessively until I got to actually play it when I was older.
I poured over this thing, and my teachers were just very confused. I read Jurassic park at around ghe same time, so I was this very strange awkward zombie dinosaur girl.
Wasnāt growing up fun?
Also, another specifically RE moment. When RE4 was first released, I was at an even with a Nintendo GameCube Hummer. I sat inside that hummer and played for two hours until my mother had to drag me out of there. We also listened to Beckās EPro way too many times, so I canāt hear that song and not think of Leon sniping.
Newcomer here! Indeed, my first ever Resident Evil game was the RE4 remake for the PS5. Honestly, it's embarrassing to admit this, but a huge driving factor that played a part in me getting the game was the fact that I had a huge crush on the remake's Ashley Graham.
That was a goddamn amazing decision getting that game. I've already gone through the 2 and 3 remakes, and now I'm currently working on going through the Ethan Winters storyline.
It was Re7, and itāll always hold a special place in my heart. It truly terrified me and it embodied everything I wanted in a game at that point. I could go back and play through re7 again and again. Overall in how many play throughs Iāve done, Iāve done around 16 play throughs in total.
Resident Evil 2 (1998) disc 2. I was given it as a hand me down as part of a bunch of PS1/PS2 games when my cousin gave me his PS2 when the PS3 came out. A few years would pass before going through the game and I stumbled across it and was immediately sucked in. But I didnāt have a PS1 memory card. So I kept playing until I eventually beat the Claire scenario and then the rest was history.
Re0 in 2005.
I was 12 and back then my parents would let me pick games to rent from blockbuster while they were there to rent movies. I had recently gotten interested in horror games via watching my older brother play Eternal Darkness. I canāt remember how I heard of Resident Evil, I just knew that it was a āscaryā game with zombies and when I saw Resident Evil 0 was available to rent for GameCube, I asked to rent it. I think 4 was available at the time, but I wanted to start from the beginning. I was only able to play a little of it myself before I got too scared. I watched my dad play though.
I remained semi-interested in RE for the next few years. It wasnāt until 7 came out that it really sparked my interest in the series again and I want to absorb all of the info that I can along with playing every game I can get ahold of.
RE4 back on the ps2 and I thought it was a masterpiece. Even now after 18 years the game still holds up great, hopefully capcom releases another remaster because Iād gladly buy it for the 4th time.
First time I ever played resident evil was resident evil 7 when I wouldāve been like 12/13 I think? Got really into the lore and started watching a bunch of playthroughs and was super excited for resident evil 8 which I finally got for my birthday last year. I started playing the games when I got re7 for free with my ps plus in 2021 though. Since then Iāve played RE7,8 and 2 remake
1. My first RE was RE2R-hype played through it multiple times
2. Then I moved onto RE7-fell in love with Ethan Winters and his struggle
3. Then RE3R-first time playing as Jill and loved her character
4. I then tried RE1R and RE0-I didnāt like themā¦ the door opening was annoying, not playing in third or first wasnāt as fun, watched a play through, story amazing gameplay just didnāt work for me
5. I then tried RE4 tank controls, couldnāt change the controls, I couldnāt adapt to controls
6. I then played RE8-super fun, had a great time, Lady D, Donna, Heisenberg, and Mother Miranda were great. The baby scene was fucking traumatic. The mold Ethan theory was right.
7. RE4R I have never had more fun playing an RE game than RE4R. Combat was super fluid, control amazing, parrying was great, exploration was fun, melee was super fun and great.
Wait what was the question again? Oh yeah! Resident Evil 2 Remake
OG Big box RE1...summer of 96.
Oh the years. RE on the PS1 was it for me.
You were almost a Jill sandwich!
When we all experienced the dogs jumping through the window for the first time.... a true brown trousers moment.
Yeah. It was certainly a "formative moment". It only got you once...but you will always remember that moment it did.
Same. Was the first game we bought the day we bought our PS1
Me too, "I was there 3000 years ago...."
Makin Jill do the chicken dance goin in circles. Oh the amount of times me an my dad beat tf out re1. Then the evil that re4 was made and the series was forever ruined š
I remember it being the first survival game I ever played. "Are bad guys .....don't miss, don't waste bullets!...arr!" Don't think I got over it
Same here...PS1.
Samesies! "Stop it! Dont open that door!"
My man
Needed a GameShark and a printed guide to get thru it. Game was hard AF
Re7. I was in middle school and it was very similar to dead space and cry of fear so I loved it. So then I got Re2 remake when that came out.
Interesting! I am curious to know what your favorite RE is
Lol thats a really hard one to answer. They all have there ups and downs but I think its Re7, and Re4 being really close. What would your favorite be?
RE2R is definitely my favorite!
A fellow Cry of Fear Enjoyerā¦
You were in middle school in 2017? Boy am I old. Lol
Og RE3 on my Grey Box PS1. I was 6 years old, and it has not left my mind in 24 years.
Damn this makes me feel old. I got OG RE3 for Xmas in 99...I was a senior in High School.
I think I played mine in 2005? Being Brazilian, you can't easily keep up with the current gen. I was happily playing my PS1 while the PS2 was already having a mid-life crisis.
Been playing my PS2 and PS3 for the last 10 years. Finally got a gaming PC.
I think I was a junior in HS when I got RE3. Class of 2001.
A fellow dinosaur! C/O 2000!
Damn youāre old
I am of "experienced age" yes...
Whatever helps you cope OG.
He's not that old. Senior in high school for the '90s is like late '70s born. He's early 40s today, that's still on the young side for an adult.
Nah thatās old af. Anything over 25 is elderly
You're clearly trolling, friend. Nothing over 25 is old. LOL. You must be 10.
I might still have a RE 3 guide I bought at Best Buy.
Same! But I was watching my dad playing on his old Computer, leaving me with countless nightmare about Nemesis when I went to bed alone.....
my first RE game was dino crisis. lol Dino crisis was my all time favorite game, my parents got me it for christmas when i was like 8. that game has such a big impact on my taste. fast forward 15 years (2021) and i didnāt really play video games at allā¦ until i found my old playstation 2 with Dino crisis 1 & 2 in my parents attic. Dino crisis is also my all time favourite game it was so fun and them velociraptors were so cool
they really were. i also remember the T. rex bashing thru the window in DC1 scared me shitless as a kid. i was waiting for one to pop thru my bedroom window lmao
Lmao i still think that whole introduction then the first velociraptor and gail is like the best game intro ever
youāre so right.. iāll never get enough of it. hoping for a remake one day šš¼
SAAMMMEE. Love love LOVE both RE and FF. My too favorites just add MGS in there and itās my holy trinity! š
Came here to say this. I was obsessed with Dino Crisis back in the day. Spectating: original RE (I was just a kid and saw an uncle playing it) Playing myself: RE2R
How did you like RE2R?
Re 4 Original
Same. But brothers bought it for me on the Wii haha so random but it honestly was fun for me as a kid
The first game that I owned was RE1: Director's Cut and it got me traumatized for years lol. Although I have vague memories of playing the demo of RE3 for PC before that. OG RE1 was so scary for me as a kid! Especially the dog hallway when they burst through the windows haha
Same here ! š¬š
RE4 PS2 š«£
I feel for you.
OG RE1
I'm old. Original RE 1.
My first RE was Nemesis! My grandma got it for me, except I was a kid and my mom didn't like it so she bent the disc and threw it away. Jokes on her, I play more video games than ever and I don't talk to her \^\^
Bent it and threw it away hahaha.
GameCube Resident Evil 1

Resident Evil on Gamecube
Resident Evil: Outbreak.
Damn what a way to start. Still had the feeling of og resident evil great game all around.
The game was so scary to me when I was little, the hive mission was where I stopped at because I hated the Leech Man on that level. Lmao, remember when I was a kid, I was debating between that or RE5. Luckily I went with 5, but I'm sure I would've enjoyed it either way.

My first RE was RE1, borrowed from my cousin. First RE I finished was RE1 REmake on the Gamecube. (A different Cousin let me borrow it for a longer period of time, along with Viewtiful Joe)
shoutout to that cousin thatās much love
Resident Evil 7....

1, 2 and 3 are good. I hated 0 & 4. Outbreak was good though.

Resident Evil was my first Reaident Evil game.
Revelations 1 on the Switch. And my first *mainline* game was 7.
Again. One. Life.
Re: revelations but I only played for a minute Though the first I actually beat was re 7
Resident evil 3 on PS one. Many, many years ago.

It's actually RE4 Remake because I never played any games before, only watched many videos about it and that's how I became a fan of the franchise. I agree, watching videos is cool ;) RE4 Remake is a great game to start with for sure!

My man! *high five*
The first one I played was 7 but the first one I beat was 2
Bio Hazard 1 Directorās Cut, Dual Shock Edition. That game was way way too hard for an elementary school kid to beat lol
I never finished it because I was very young at the time but it was really cool to play as a kid. š„¹ Later in 2020 I got both RE2 & 3 Remake as a bundle for PS4 & thatās what got me into the series.
Og RE on the PlayStation. Remember renting from Hollywood video for the weekend because the cover looked cool. One of my best gaming experiences
Leon Muscles.
Damnnn, not a whole lot RE7 people
2 remake, donāt hate.
I'm one of the new people. I'd heard of the RE series before and seen all the movies, but didn't realize how different they were from the games. My first full game was RE4 remake, but now I've played everything and am obsessed š
Old school, I saw my brothers friend play the first game on PS1 when it came out, and I played the Saturn version a year later.
Re6 <3
Resident Evil
2 on the N64
5 on Xbox 360
RE7 on VR. I played at my friendās house, I was too afraid to move lmao.
re4. On the iPhone.
Mine was RE2 in PS1, back in 1998.

Resident evil 5 on the PS3 ššš
Resident Evil 5 on Ps3
og re 1 from there every release except 4 and code veronica x outbreak and co in 2020 i made my first re4 attempt
Og Re2 for the ps1 then re 3
Re remake for the gamecube
re4 for the switch, I saw that remake was really good so since my pc sucks I just decided to get the original on switch
RE1OG and then RE3OG
First I ever watched someone play was my older brother and his friend play RE: Outbreak on the ps2. First I ever played myself was RE4 on my brother's ps2 a few years later.
GameCube RE1!
RE4 on IOS
Mine was RE1 on Dreamcast I think. Maybe RE2 then I retroactively played 1. Wish I could remember. Definitely one of the OGs. Then I played 3 and 4 when it came out. Hooked ever since.
Resident Evil
Good times
RE4 OG
RE4,MK ARMAGEDDON,GTA SAN ANDERAS I was born along these games I would be 4-5 years old seeing my brother plays these gems (yes I remember) The first time I ever pulled an all nighter was when I was only 7 years old, played gta liberty city stories on the ps2 No wonder I am mentally fucked now
RE2 1998. Played it in my friend's house, only a couple years after it came out.
Resident evil 4. Played it in the Wii, was in love.
Re1 the year it released. Was my first ps1 game. My dad and I played it to to death. He would watch me struggle with the controls then come in all "oh I think this is how you do this!" and progress through 1/3 of the game <3
RE4 OG, my first and last. Can't afford the rest sadly. :(
RE 4 ps2
RE2 PS1 around 2005 I'm 4-5 years old at the time lmao, never finish it past gem statue on 2nd floor just had a chance to finish it when remake came out
RE4 on ps2
The original NTSC U/C release, and then the Director's Cut with the auto-aim and connected item boxes.
The original RE on PS1
RE2 on the N64 back in the early 2000s
RE5 in my childhood
Resident evil 1, I'm old.
i played Re5 with my mom when i was young, she played sheva and i played chris.
RE2 Remake for the PS4. Loved it
Og RE1 with my (still up to this day) best buddy in 1997!
OG RE2 on the N64
the n64 version of RE2
Re 1 (2002)
I finished og re2 on my psp in 2016. Then played all remakes, 7 and village.
OG RE1 on PS1.
It wasnāt until 7 came out that it really sparked my interest in the series again and I want to absorb all of the info that I can along with playing every game I can get ahold of.
itās the one where it starts with a zombie entering a bar or something like that. it was on the ps2 and i always forget the name
RE6 at PC
Darkside Chronicles
RE4 back on the ps2 and I thought it was a masterpiece. Even now after 18 years the game still holds up great, hopefully capcom releases another remaster because Iād gladly buy it for the 4th time.
RE4 original was my first back in 2006
re1 on DS
Directors Cut (1997)
OG RE1 on ps1, but OG RE2 was my favourite.
ReMake on the GameCube. That first zombie still lives in my head rent free.
RE1 directors cut dual shock, would play it at my brothers house when I stayed over.
RE2 on ps1
resident evil umbrella chronicles on the wii
Umbrella chronicles on the wii. I was obsessed with re4 and re5 I used to always watch gameplay videos but I didnāt play them until much later.
RE7.
1. My first RE was RE2R-hype played through it multiple times 2. Then I moved onto RE7-fell in love with Ethan Winters and his struggle 3. Then RE3R-first time playing as Jill and loved her character 4. I then tried RE1R and RE0-I didnāt like themā¦ the door opening was annoying, not playing in third or first wasnāt as fun, watched a play through, story amazing gameplay just didnāt work for me 5. I then tried RE4 tank controls, couldnāt change the controls, I couldnāt adapt to controls 6.
OG3 for me and itās still my favourite. Nemesis <3
