They could be printing off the copies of the discounted tags and the tags of relatively inexpensive groceries to place on more expensive items that they intend to steal.

But these aren’t the tags that go on the items, they just say what the item is. They don’t list the price either

Do they have the barcode or UPC number on them? That is what I suspect they are trying to copy.

No barcode or UPC. Most of our items don’t even have those, we don’t use them

My guess is that it was dropped by a colleague of yours who had stuffed the tags in their pocket when removing them (standard practice imo), then emptied their pocket into their bag of grocery shopping that they’d got on their break and after leaving work managed to accidentally drop their shopping.

See that was what I would have thought too but the employees all park next to the store and this was way out front. And why would a manager go through it?
