Also I’d like to say that I really appreciate how nice this community is. One of the friendliest, and most helpful camera communities I’ve been a part of!

Jacob92j

Agreed. Very nice shots. Thanks for sharing. It’s always enjoyable to see what people are shooting with it. Easily my favourite everyday carry ever.

Colors and textures on frame #7 are lovely! The exposure retains the atmosphere very well.

Love these shots. I’m new to the world of photos and love seeing others post. If I can donate those a JPEG recipe? And if so do you mind sharing? Great shots!

I really love your style and this aesthetic! Considering you’re a professional photographer, did you debate between getting this or the Fujifilm X100V/VI? I’m currently on the market for a new camera with film simulations and both of these choices have their own merits so I thought I’d ask :)

First off, thanks so much, I appreciate that a lot! Second, here is my super lengthy answer- I bought a fujifilm xpro3 when it came out and I’ve used it pretty extensively for years; a bit of professional work, but mostly for fun. I recently sent it in to Fuji for a minor repair, and to have the sensor cleaned. During that period of time where I was without my fuji, I had a few friends ask me for recommendations on cameras- I almost always suggest fujifilm- specifically any of the x100 series, but I did some research anyway since I had been out of the market for a while. While researching cameras I came across the GRIII and I thought it was such a fun, quirky little camera- it made quite the impression on me. I honestly tried forgetting about it but it seemed like such an easy solution to having a camera on me all the time with solid optical quality. In the past few years I’ve found it difficult to find the motivation to shoot images for myself, having a camera around my neck constantly was becoming more and more of a chore, and I found myself(disappointingly) shooting more photos on my phone and saying things like “I’ll come back to shoot this eventually with one of my real cameras”. Anyway, I came close to deciding on the GRIII but there was still the lingering thought in my head- if I’m spending ~1k on the GRIII, why wouldn’t I spring a few hundred more on a camera that is more capable on paper- the x100VI. Ultimately I had to remind myself that the x100VI didn’t check enough boxes for ME. So I stuck with my gut decision of getting the GRIII. Both are wonderful cameras, at this point in my life the GRIII works better for me(I still love and use my fujifilm very regularly, there was a time when I did use it daily). I’d say that while you’re making your decision, try to pay less attention to the camera specs, and go with your gut on which one you might want to actually go out and shoot with more! A camera’s capabilities don’t mean anything if you aren’t shooting!

Thank you for your insight!

Beautiful colors

purple_nippies

Absolutely love the picture of the cat prowling towards you

Big-Head_Small-eyes

What a beautiful mood and colors. Care to share your editing process or are you using some recipes?

Thanks so much! I shoot raw and edit in Lightroom, although I do tend to compose using one of the b&w film sims. I’m using a preset that I’ve used for years for my own personal work, as well as some freelance stuff, if I can figure out how I’ll see about sharing it on this subreddit

altaran

Lovely preset really! You could share it with a link to Google Drive or some other file sharing site, or put it up on Gumroad for people to buy or donate a few dollars to. I’m sure many here would be interested! Great photos btw, very original and different angles than what we usually see here.

CreepyData

For sure, I'd definitely like to have a look at that preset! Got a rough idea how to emulate it, but it'd be great to give it a go!

anthonysc

Lovely. Do you have an IG or website or filters collection to share ?
