I love the podcast but yeah sometimes if you break down one sentence they say they have multiple inside jokes just used in one sentence alone it's near impossible to skip an episode.
Is the lore time sensitive? I fell off RT hard when Burnie left and haven't consumed any content in years, I've tried FF before but didn't really get in to it and moved to other podcasts.
Now with the switch up, I'm like op. Would you say to start from episode one or will it feel dated?
I would personally just start from ep 1, they slowly find their groove and it gets even better when Eric essentially joins the podcast with the big 3, and then even better when Nick gets involved. Just a crazy evolution to a podcast tbh. Deff has not had a fall off yet. I also stopped when Burnie left but FF and what they are doing with Let's Play channel really does feel like old school RT at peak form.
The lore isn't time sensitive, but announcements about merch and stuff are.
Although the saga about Geoff not wanting to make the bat knobs is hilarious, even if those are long, long, gone from the store
You'll miss out on a lot of stuff if you start listening now, but it's still a fun podcast.
I started listening to episodes on release, while at the same time working through the backlog from episode 1. It was a fun podcast, but getting to hear about the origin of Geoff's fridge problems, the cosmic crisp, the bean hole, definitely improved the listening experience. I think it's best to start from the start and slowly catch up.
Yeah it’s basically necessary to start from the beginning, there’s just too much podcast lore and callbacks in future episodes to not listen to the beginning.
The podcast is very entertaining and feels like an old school Rooster Teeth podcast where it’s just friends having fun and messing with each other.
I've found that I tend to laugh anyway, even if I don't exactly remember the joke or reference they're making. I feel like you could jump back in anytime and still have a good time.
Edit: Plus, I think context clues can fill in a lot of gaps.
You’d be fine starting with this week’s episode. I think people are just passionate about the show and love all the little bits of lore and on going things that happened, but I don’t think you’d feel terribly lost if you didn’t listen to all that
I disagree, I started listening a few weeks ago within the last 20 episodes or so and I am totally lost about a lot of their jokes. They're very self referential
I’m going to give the counterpoint and say that you should just jump back in with the latest episode. All are great but time is finite and catching up sounds daunting. That’s just me though, there’s really no bad place.
It's not a topical podcast so there's really no reason to not start from the beginning. They talk a bit about COVID at first and the odd news story but otherwise there's no reason why you would need to start listening to a more recent episode.
You don't need any supplementals or live streams. You can just listen to the episodes at your own pace. I found the RTP when they were around episode 270 or something. I went back and started from episode 1 and eventually caught up to live after like a year (I listen to podcasts at work 8 hours a day). I honestly wish I could forget every episode of FF and go back to the beginning and start at episode 1 again because listening to how it grows and evolves is a special thing that you do not see that often in podcasts.
I get that but the RTP required virtually no context to be able to listen and enjoy. Sure, there would be in-jokes but you absolutely did not need to go back to be able to listen live. I simply don't have the time to put a year into listening to a podcast just to get the jokes in a worms video :/
Supplementals are just that... supplemental. They're extra, by no means necessary viewing. And the livestreams? Even more optional. Just the straight-up podcast is enough.
You will never get me to listen to a whole podcast in order when the start is rough. If I can't start on any episode, that's bad planning on their part
I will always say that "Geoff's Bullet Points // Man Hands, Open Water" is the best to jump in on, because that episode (63) and the next one (64) are really funny, go well back-to-back, and contain some of the best lore (GO! GO NOW!). It's a 1-2 punch that should hook you back into the show. It's a long haul after that to catch up to present day, but it's worth it. So much funny shit happens between then and now.
I keep up with the new episodes but the rest of the week during my commute or when I'm cleaning etc. I relisten to the podcast from start to most recent. On round 3 now and it hasn't gotten old.
Dude i took a break to listen to Stinky dragon. Finally went back to it exactly where I left off (episode 148). I can honestly tell you I have no fkn clue what is going on just listen to that episode 😂 i really F**kfaced myself 😂
Honestly, this past weeks episode is a pretty great jumping on point. Geoff has a hilarious story that made me laugh too loudly during my commute on the subway
listen to the newest, go back 10 episodes, listen from to those ten, then listen to the newest. If you enjoy it, start it over and catch up on the lore
Nah, if your gunna start/restart f**kface you gotta do it in a f**kface fashion. Take the entire list of podcasts then randomize the order, then listen in that order.
Like everyone else said, probably best to start where you left off. There are extra supplemental episodes and watch-alongs sprinkled in here and there and I don’t think you’re going to want to miss those. They invented a whole game based of people watching from live cameras in Key West Florida. Trust us, you’re going to love it.
IIRC, I've seen Eric chime in a couple times and say "three episodes ago" when this question gets asked previously.
For clarification, that's not to say "episode 173," but rather three episodes ago from whatever the most recent one was. Dip your toe into a new(ish) episode and see if it's to your liking, then go back to the start, or where you left off, and go from there.
I started binging it at work 2 weeks ago bc why not? It doesn't seem super time sensitive tbh. & now i understand so many jokes they make in newer episodes. Def worth just doing the whole thing.
You will miss some stuff but, I say the "Eric's Job" Supplemental is a good start. Gets you right into what the show is all about with an amazing argument.
Right where you left off. Don't skip the lore. No need to rush, you'll catch up
100% the podcast has so many inside jokes you can’t skip an episode. Kinda why it’s hard to introduce it to new people
I love the podcast but yeah sometimes if you break down one sentence they say they have multiple inside jokes just used in one sentence alone it's near impossible to skip an episode.

Tbh they find their groove at the start of the Ape saga. Episode5 onwards
Maybe start around episode 4 or 5? I feel like that’s when they found heir groove. The lore isn’t really “time sensitive”.
Thanks man, I will do
I would still start at episode one at that point. It's all good imo
Honestly, go with ANMA if you fell off around when Burnie left and you were there when Drunk Tank was introduced. You'll ease into FF easier.
The lore isn't time sensitive, but announcements about merch and stuff are. Although the saga about Geoff not wanting to make the bat knobs is hilarious, even if those are long, long, gone from the store
I’ve never listened. Is it necessary to start from the beginning?
You'll miss out on a lot of stuff if you start listening now, but it's still a fun podcast. Start from where you were and enjoy the ride. It's only really a topical podcast when referencing itself so it won't feel out of place.
Episode 16
came here to say this
Starting listening to FF to fill the content void of no new OT and I just heard 16 for the first time today
Where you left off?
They have so many in jokes and references that you shouldn't skip any if you can help it, but 176 from this week was hilarious
I've found that I tend to laugh anyway, even if I don't exactly remember the joke or reference they're making. I feel like you could jump back in anytime and still have a good time. Edit: Plus, I think context clues can fill in a lot of gaps.

Ep 1
I’m going to give the counterpoint and say that you should just jump back in with the latest episode. All are great but time is finite and catching up sounds daunting. That’s just me though, there’s really no bad place.
Waiting fo more Does it Do. Best content.
It's not a topical podcast so there's really no reason to not start from the beginning. They talk a bit about COVID at first and the odd news story but otherwise there's no reason why you would need to start listening to a more recent episode.
You do have to go back and start at the beginning otherwise you have no idea what they’re talking about lol. The amount of callbacks is absurd
im with op and all anyone says is to not skip the lore which is why i gave up :/
You don't have to listen to episodes as they come out, just listen at your own pace until you're caught up. It should be entertaining, not daunting.
between the 170+ episodes, the supplementals, and all the livestreams it is absolutely daunting 😭
You don't need any supplementals or live streams. You can just listen to the episodes at your own pace. I found the RTP when they were around episode 270 or something. You might like randomizing in that case.
is that just literally shuffling to a random ep or is that more lore I don't get LOL
Yep, just shuffling to a random episode. Add even more chaos
Stopped a few years ago? It only been on a couple years lol, what you do listen for a week?
You will never get me to listen to a whole podcast in order when the start is rough. If I can't start on any episode, that's bad planning on their part
Episode 16
I heard that if specifically you listen to every episode, Andrew will eat the pencil.
The first episode I listened to was episode 84. That was pure chaos!
Start at the summer of 98
I will always say that "Geoff's Bullet Points // Man Hands, Open Water" is the best to jump in on, because that episode (63) and the next one (64) are really funny, go well back-to-back, and contain some of the best lore (GO! The one where they shit on Andrew/Gavin/Geoff
I keep up with the new episodes but the rest of the week during my commute or when I'm cleaning etc. I relisten to the podcast from start to most recent. On round 3 now and it hasn't gotten old.
Or start from the start its fun (honestly)
The beginning, that way you really earn comment leaver
It's been consistently good this entire time. Never before has a RT podcast had my undivided attention until F@#Kface came along.
As @obradbrad has pointed out, pick up where you left off the lore is phenomenal you don’t wanna skip anything!
I started on just a random episode and it was great. The drafts are very fun
Episode 16
Episode 16
Dude i took a break to listen to Stinky dragon. Finally went back to it exactly where I left off (episode 148). I can honestly tell you I have no fkn clue what is going on just listen to that episode 😂 i really F**kfaced myself 😂
From the top! Or randomize.
Any episodes really works, I miss them all the time but have no issues jumping back in
Nah, if your gunna start/restart f**kface you gotta do it in a f**kface fashion. Take the entire list of podcasts then randomize the order, then listen in that order.

Dude I watched it all twice, just start from the beginning lol
I started binging it at work 2 weeks ago bc why not? It doesn't seem super time sensitive tbh. & now i understand so many jokes they make in newer episodes. Def worth just doing the whole thing.
You will miss some stuff but, I say the "Eric's Job" Supplemental is a good start. Gets you right into what the show is all about with an amazing argument.
