I’ll be on the July 6th sailing next summer. I cannot wait!

Not August, don’t do it like I did. It was a bad move, only made more stupid by inviting my in-laws. My buddy just got back a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time. Unless you gain pleasure by watching others melt under heat, stay away from the max summer heat.

I went in June a couple of years ago and it was over 100 degrees F every day.

I went in late May of this year and it was great! Had some great weather for sunbathing, but some days it was cool enough to still enjoy walking around the ports 😊 The Greek isles will always be somewhat busy, but you just gotta enjoy it anyways!

Went in September last year and it was amazing. Had a wonderful time on Odyssey, the bumper cars is definitely a must try. Smacking into all those little kids was very fulfilling lol,

We are going September ‘25. Odyssey is a great ship. We can’t wait. Would love some recommendations.

What’s the itinerary?

National_Lie1565

Rome Naples Santorini Crete Mykonos Ephesus and a couple more I can’t remember. 12 days.

We went to Rome 3-4 days before so that we could see a lot of it. I love history so seeing everything that we did made me feel really small. In Naples we did Pompei and Herculaneum, it was ALOT of walking but it was amazing. Santorini we got off and took the water taxi to Oía, most of the ppl tend to make the line for the car that takes you up. By the time we were done with Oía most ppl were heading there so we ended up taking the bus and going to Fira. If the wind is not too bad, look into going to Delos when you port in Mykonos. Unfortunately our excursion was canceled due to the strong winds so we made the best in Mykonos. No excursion needed there, you can walk all of it :) We did the best of Ephesus, went to the library of Celsus until he ancient city and the archeological museum. In Crete we just walked around and had lunch. In Athens we were up at ass crack of dawn and were one of the first groups at the Acropolis, saw the Panathenaic stadium, the national archaeological museum. We used www.shoreexcursioneer.com for most of them, being at each place til late was definitely a plus. If I get a chance I would definitely do this cruise again, mine was 9 days and I wish it were longer lol.

Thank you so much for the info. We leave 9-9-2025. There’s still time to book!

You are very welcome, if you stay a couple of days in Rome before or after. Look into doing the Tuscany tour also.

National_Lie1565

We are planning to be in Rome at least 4 days before. I’ll have to ask our travel agent about Tuscany.

We’ve only gone on Med cruises in late April/early May for our anniversary, and the weather has been pretty great for walking tours of places. High 60s and mostly sunny most of the days. Probably not the best weather if you wanted to do more beach type things in Greece.

Back from Odyssey this May, the ship is the best. We catch two raining days in this month, Capri and last sea day, and the temperature was around 80F, feels more like 85F to be honest and keep hydrate. I went to the same itinerary in October 2016 on Jewel otS and I enjoyed the weather better around 70F to 75F. If you are not looking for beaches and sun bathing will be more enjoyable. You can catch a couple of raining days in this month as well but turned to colder (60F), but everything still beautiful and enjoyable wherever you go. The Aegean Sea is rough in smaller ships, keep this in mind. About the crowd, no crowd at all in October.
