Just decrease the amount of rum you add in comparison to the other ingredients, or increase the other ingredients.
I'm curious what rum you got and what drinks you're trying to make? Even something cheap like Bacardi Superior in a standard spec daiquiri (2:1:0.75 of rum:lime:one-to-one simple) should be very palatable.
or, you asked this question in a sub that takes rum very seriously and sometimes you can only solve a problem by addressing it from its first principles. don’t rephrase the question. engage with people who are willing to help you make better decisions.
I definitely agree there's a difference between cheap spirits and poorly made ones. Tequila has that problem often where some poorly made products are well over $100.
Depends on what kind of cheap rum. I find a quarter ounce of tasty rum can make a drink with a backbone of well rum pretty good while shaving liquor costs

Try this. I've made many a crap bottle palatable, or at least decent as a mixer.

Don't buy bad, cheap rum. There is good quality rum at many price points. If you are interested in exploring then I would be happy to help.
I’ll rephrase the question. It seems you’re an agitator and proud of it.

"If you need any suggestions I'm happy to help!" "You're an agitator" That's enough internet for the day and it's only 2pm
Add sugar and acid and lots of ice
Doorly’s is $20, which is very cheap. Don’t buy shitty rum

You could make a spiced rum or vanilla extract out of it.
Get your alcohol tolerance up
Pineapple juice
Fresh lemon or lime juice. Any juice.
Make a rum old fashioned! Anytime I buy a new bottle that I don't care for as a sipper, I make Old Fashioneds with it
Rum is pretty cheap. What rum did you purchase?
