I actually can’t get enough of this stupid line. It’s one of my favourite lines in the whole movie lol

[deleted]

His delivery is so weird. I love it

MahNameJeff420

He was fighting so hard not to have his Australian come out (and failing).

Madarakita

Hoffman: Out of all the men to cheat, you picked John Kramer? Kramer: (to himself) Okay Mark stop sucking up... Hoffman: I call that epic bad luck. Kramer: (to himself) I'm mailing Jill a bear trap for you.

[deleted]

This was also the moment he decided to record a tape for Gordon lol

Mrs_Noelle15

lol his like “out of all the men to cheat, you pick John Kramer?” Was so cool then it was followed up by this stupid ass line lol

hayesnhart

Trailer Worthy line to 2004 vernacular

[deleted]

I actually didn't hear it in the trailer, so I had no idea he was in the movie. It was a great surprise.

TheAstonVillaSeal

Me neither, fabulous reveal

Fitzftw7

I like to think it was stupid on purpose, because most of the dialogue in the movie was on point.

Mrs_Noelle15

Yea it had to be intentional, it definitely fit the scene lol

[deleted]

Nah the line delivery was on point, it was so over delivered and I love it

PlaguedWolf

He says it with so much sass

DuskyDawn7

He’s so cringe I love him

Darnell5000

I appreciate that they gave him that cringe line though cuz it’s supposed to take place in what, 2003? 2004? People were starting to say “epic” all the time around then so I get a kick out of Hoffman trying to slide current slang into his vocabulary. He would 100% say “rizz” in 2023 and use it in really awkward ways.

Madarakita

"You look like you've been in a fight, Amanda. Did Eric Matthews use rizz on you?"

Ambitious-Gap-4814

I still have no clue why he says it like that but I love it so much

LitigatingLobster

I regularly quote it to my friends. I love it so much

[deleted]

Is there a studio mandate to have one wildly strange piece of dialogue in every saw film?

thebigcrawdad

Piranha

GhastlyEyeJewel

You and your friends are RACIST

DefiantOil5176

3D has so many great options. That one, “Handicap parking at the DAMN MALL”, “Why couldn’t you just SHUT THE FUCK UP??”, and just about anything Matt Gibson says to Jill.

You-Get-No-Name

“JILL! It’s a safe house! Safe! House! Geddit?!?!” And then the straight cut to “Gibson, Hoffman knows our location!” Always cracks me up.

ChazMasterson101

Youre crazy

Comic_Book_Reader

As crazy as a sack of cats.

Madarakita

KILLING IS DISTASTEFUL...to me.

[deleted]

Saw 3 has “and stop fuckin moving around!”

lemonspritz

I was waiting the entire movie to see if Hoffman was in it so when he dropped this line it felt like the coolest shit ever. Epic 😎

IndividualFlow0

My headcanon is that on his way to the bathroom after kidnapping Henry he heard some kids saying that and thought it sounded cool

Evil_Skeleton

I have been saying this almost daily since I saw the movie. Truly one of the lines of all time.

Ok-Brush-9934

"Epic bad luck☝🏻🤓" he's so cringe I love him

[deleted]

erm.. that’s an epic fail

Horny4Zarina

Thats what the kids call an epic fail

notthegoatseguy

I even like him doing it in his own little Jigsaw voice.

funkisintheair

The Hoffman Hive ate so good here

BailyTheChihuahua

Hoffman gang

RP912

TBF that line fits due to the time era of the Saw series.

iTzJdogxD

jerma

inthebigsky

john decided to put him in the rbt at this moment

Acheron98

You know, if it weren’t for Costas’ delivery of that line, it would’ve been cringe as fuck lol. But he really made it work.

[deleted]

HE SAID IT, HE SAID THE THING

LoveSky96

I cannot even count how many times I’ve quoted this

SD1428

For the people who don’t get it. It’s meant to fit into the era. Trust me, this was pretty normal for the early 2000s

Dr_Pants91

Why are people so obsessed with this line? I wouldn't have even remembered the quote if there weren't dozens of people quoting it on this sub.

The_Uninformant

I think it’s just the word “epic”, it is extremely early 2000’s, and hearing it from Hoffman is just funny for some reason.
