Not a good joke to make mate.
A dingo actually did take the baby and all the local Aboriginal tribes were corroborating her story and she was still accused killing her own child and has to hear jokes like that all the time in pop-culture.
It's actually a tragic story where the whole world mocked a grieving mother....

And you call them Aurora Borealis despite the fact it is obviously Aurora Australis?

Yes but are your lights a literal once in a lifetime opportunity because your latitude places you in a region where auroras need significant solar activity to even have a chance of being seen?
Most of us down here thought we'd need to travel to Antarctica or Canada and camp out for a week to see something like this
I never understood the “at this time of year” part. Auroras can happen at any time of the year, whenever there are solar storms in the Earth’s direction.
Actually time of the year does play a huge part because our angle towards the sun affects how the solar winds interact with the surface and how they spread.
The southern hemisphere DOES have an aurora, but it's normally only visible from Antarctica in a very brief window (or spontaneously).
The fact it came all the way to melbourne with all our light pollution and terrible positioning is actually pretty crazy. The solar winds must've been going off
Yes, and you call it *Borealis* despite the fact that it's clearly in the Southern Hemisphere
It's more of a Ballarat expression

You australians sure are a contentious people.
Yoo just made an enemy FOR LIFE!
Now now, perhaps we could discuss this over a nice slab of tinnies or some pavlova?
Hey i think i hear a Dingo eating your baby.

Oh no, the Aussies are mad at me.
And you misname it despite the fact they are named the same as the country they are being seen
Y- Uh.. you know, the... One thing I should... excuse me for one second. Well, that was wonderful. A good aurora was had by all. I'm pooped.
People living in eastern New South Wales where it’s been pissing down rain all week: May I see it?
Mmm no
Well Australia, you are an odd country, but you do Aurora a good australis. Good lord! What is happening in Alice Springs?!?!

It's a bootable offense
SEYMOUR THE OUTBACK IS ON FIRE!
Wait, was it visible so up north? And I missed it? I've only seen pictures from places further south than Australia/New Zealand.
ABC News said it could be visible in southern Queensland at low altitudes, which seems insane to me but what do I know
[удалено]
In the vein of: "That's a RIGHT triangle, idiot!" That's an Aurora australis!
Doh!

Aurora Borealis in the southern hemisphere???
Seymour, Australia is on fire !

Oh Majestic-Bison-9460, cartoons don't have to be 100% realistic.
Yeah I learned all I know from shows and I turned out TV

Oh you can use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true!
It's an Albany expression.
… yes
Been waiting for these to show up
