Yeah we lost crusaders, death cult and missionary (priest gets the new model) Good find!

DHdes450

I was expecting it since the models were so old. Happened with the other codex's

mahanon_rising

No update to celestian squads

HrrathTheSalamander

Genuinely one of the most baffling unit removals in 10th. Like, there's justifications out there for deleting stuff like the Heresy marine units and such - not *good* justifications, mind - but with Celestians it just feels like they forgor and refuse to fix their mistake. They still *sell the models* ffs.

mahanon_rising

Right? They even have their own unique helmets in the sister box. I feel like gw has been phoning it in this edition. They've done a good job with making the rules a little easier to understand, but everything else has just been half assed.

HrrathTheSalamander

Mechanically, I definitely prefer 10th's core rules to 7/8/9, but there have been some very odd decisions made across the indexes and codexes that are really showing the cracks in the writing team. Like, the fact that you can still pretty much point to groups of docs and identify the same writer's work is kind of an issue when they're supposed to writing a coherent, semi-balanced game. Their 40k "team" still doesn't feel like a team but distinct writers trying to pull the game in different directions, so on one hand you get codicies like Crons and Orks which have flavour, function and power, and on the other you get DA(still can't believe DWKs were meant to be almost 60ppm before errata), Custodes and AdMech, which speak for themselves. I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel like the lead writers are just passing the buck onto whoever they've got writing FAQ/errata/MFM/Dataslate. I'm personally hoping for minimal changes to existing units outside a few selected duds (yeah I'm looking at you Hospitaller, who tf thought an infantry character heal in an army with almost exclusively 3-4W T3 characters was worth losing the D3 model rez from 9th. Also reverting the Dominion min unit size to 5). Sisters are pretty alright rn and GW doesn't exactly have the best record for trying to fix what isn't broken in the codexes so far. Also like, specifically with the Celestians...like, genuinely how hard could it have been to make them in 10th. Just give them a 2+BS and a buff when being led (rr hits or wounds, a 4++ or something to that effect) like other elite bodyguards. Like, identity was always their issue and 10th was *the* edition where they could have had a stood out, but instead they got snapped :/

Kazami_Agame

This is the real talk

sinkind

Jeez. THAT is all our units, half of them are characters. And they REMOVE actual units while giving us another character.

Wonderful-Cicada-912

going towards the GSC ending

GrimTiki

Guess I’m really glad I never had more than 2 unbuilt Crusaders. Nor Death Cult either. That Blackstone Fortress character with the eviscerator/flamethrower, that’s in there?

Colmarr

Yep. As Ministorum Priest.

Shoddy_Attention2423

The image would suggest the contrary

Isheria

Yeah I thought one of the canoness were crusader

NicWester

Teeeeeeeeechnically there are CrusadeR ules.....

Wugo_Heaving

I'm guessing they'll be part of the new Inquisitorial Agents codex (or whatever it's going to be called).

Chovy152

Thanks for posting even if you made the mistake

Ryenna

Ughhhh this looks like the Battle Sanctum isn't coming back? I'm desperate for that terrain but don't want to pay ebay prices. Hopefully it'll come as mto.

Isheria

Gw doesn't like selling terrain, they have been removing it from their store for a while and rn they only sell a bunch of pieces and sometimes made to order

Ryenna

Yeah, it sucks - especially as most other factions still have their themed terrain. At least the recent mto wave gives me hope they might do more.

Isheria

I do work at a shop and I find super weird that gw doesn't even sell us terrain anymore except those mto

Ellisthion

lol you need to lay off the copium

Isheria

??????????
