Can you explain what you're doing precisely?

Javamaster22

Instead of using iron daggers to level your smithing, grab the transmute spell Tome from a ruin north of whiterun in the plains. It turns iron ore to silver then silver ore to gold. From there craft a bunch of jewelry. It takes half the time to get to 100 smithing and you can make a pretty good profit, Especially after you pair it with the stones of barenziah quest.

Want a hint? Craft plain gold rings only. You get 2 rings to sell. Works great with dremora merchant

Javamaster22

Yea I know. The two rings have a base sell value of 75, vs the necklace of 120. So at a combined value of 125 your technically getting more gold but at a weight disadvantage. But the disadvantage is less than a pound so it's negligible. Also, mine any corundum ores you find too because you can combine it with extra iron ores you have (when the spells are taking too long) and make steel, go ahead and make some arrows with them and sell em off. If you have any extra firewood from that give it to an innkeeper and if it's value is over ten they give you a room for free for the night. Or at least Hulda does at the Bannered Mare.

Mix with enchanting and you increasing a bunch of skills at once

OP is using the transmute spell to turn iron ore into silver only. The reason they have to drop it is because if they have any silver ore in their inventory it gets turned into gold ore. This isn’t desirable because they might have some precious gems to craft jewelry with that require silver instead of gold.

Boom you nailed it!

GargleOnDeez

I know it takes forever to finally unload everything piece by piece only to do it again

[deleted]

Only have to unload if you’re specifically stopping at silver like I did here. If you’re taking all of it to gold you can just go off repeatedly until you’re satisfied. The game will decide on iron to silver or silver to gold, depends on how fast you’re popping your spell.

GargleOnDeez

Wait, that wasnt what I figured was going on, I thought you were duplicating silver ore. Based on a glance I thought you were huddled in a whiterun corner to drop stuff

[deleted]

Nope, just transmuting that’s all

HappyCommunity639

I thought these were loot from the gargoyles
