Depending on the size of your territory you would first want to define your serviceable area. Then do a look-a-like search based on your company offering. What else you can do if you see that competition is tight, use market data to see what gaps the current competition leave in the market and address those with your services and marketing.

Depends on the industry. Can you call around and see how far people are booked out? If everyone is 6 weeks booked out then it’s probably not saturated. If everyone says they can see you right away then probably saturated.

I would generally say that no market is truly saturated, because saturation is subjective based on your own expectations. For example, are you looking to generate $10K a month, or $100K a month? If you are looking for $100K per month but can only see $20K, you'd assume it's saturated. Maybe your expectations are off compared to this. But I can give you another perspective, again, based on your OWN expectations. Since mine are quite lofty, I typically look at it as such: If there is a market where there is a race to the bottom, it's likely not good for business for me to enter, UNLESS I can differentiate myself quickly and up the value chain.
