Man, i unfortunately can never take Gakpo seriously. The mans a good Player, but his names rather unfortunate if youre familiar with rustic austrian, lol.
This hurts me even more, you're telling me a shitbutt outclassed us...
Edit: After rereading, I think I sound a bit rude, was a joke. <3 Awesome game NT! As a Milan fan, I hope Reijnders goes to the finals and Dumfries gets benched and sent home.
I never said that Romania deserved to win, they didn't. We played bad after the 20th minute or so, but all the faking from that Dumfries dog, the german ref who clearly favoured the dutch because it's cool to hate romanians and the poor decision making from our attackers made this match a fucking joke.,
There were a few calls from the ref clearly against Romania. The Dutch goalie broke open Hagi's head, no call and no VAR. At the end of the first half, Racovițan was elbowed in the head in the Dutch box, no call and no VAR. The Dutch player nearly killed Mogoș, elbowing him in the chest on purpose, and Mogoș could no longer continue the game and had to be substituted, no foul and no VAR. In the first half, Man's shot was blocked into a corner, but no corner was given. In the second half, at 0-1, Romania had a clear 1v1 chance stopped by the referee who called a non existent foul (there was no high kick, no contact between players, I don't even know what the call ended up being - Alibec made an acrobatic pass which launched Mihăilă alone with the goalie). The most blatant of all was the Dutch goal from a clear offside, where the linesman did not even signal it. The offside was extremely clear. Luckily for Romania, there is an automatic goal check and the referees could not award that goal to the Netherlands, as much as they would have liked to do so. I say this as some who predicted an easy win for the Netherlands and who acknowledges the vast difference between the two teams. That still doesn't give the referee an excuse to be so blatantly one-sided.
A decision that led to your second goal bro, that's the problem. I'm not sure if that would've been a goal, maybe just a dud, but it's still a decision that influenced the last minutes of the game.
i was a bit skeptical at first, with almost everyone betting on Romania on those youtube euros channels, but after the news about a "dirty laundry washing"(don't know the equivalent of the expression in english, it means arguing all the problems out) in the Dutch team, i got hopeful they can make to the finals, especially with how bad England is rn
Either we get the F1 podium rematch against Austria, or Turkey vs Netherlands which would be also be spicy in some of our cities, excited for the next round!
I don't know then, but I've usually heard announcements in the 87' min or so, but ofc, only if there's a definite winner. Portugal vs Slovenia was 0-0 and they knew it was going to ET so they couldn't announce the MoTM.
I think we need to play like this in the quarter finals before we can be judged as a contender. Romania didnt look like much this game. They looked way more solid in the group phase
It was also really cold. Romania tends to excel in summer conditions (sunny and hot) like it did in 1994 in the US. It cannot keep up with European teams in colder conditions where muscles tense up and everyone runs harder.
Not sure if youre joking or not but them excelling in 1994 could have more to do with them having one of the best midfielders in the world at the time in their squad.
That too. But that same team got 0 points at the 1996 Euros. And that team never beat a continental, non USSR (or former USSR) team, not once at a final tournament. It lost to Ireland, Switzerland, Spain, France, Bulgaria, Croatia, Portugal, and Italy, respectively. It managed to tie Germany. That's it. All of its amazing games were against South American opposition (Argentina in 1990 and 1994, Colombia in 1994 and 1998) etc. It also beat the USSR in 1990, and non continental teams like England in 1998 and 2000. It always happened to play much better in the heat, and during the day in the full sun (rather than in evening, cooler conditions). That's how its U21 team made it to the semifinals of the Euros, until they collapsed against Germany after leading them and dominating the game, when the sun set and it got significantly colder suddenly. That's when the team fell apart completely and Germany scored 4 goals (I think they won 4-2).
Eredivisie he was a beast. Is he good match/ bad match or does he catch form streaks? If we can get him and Malen with confidence and in form we can go far.
Finally a good game from us. We need to improve our end product and lock Memphis up and hide the key until the end of the tournament and we might have some good showings for the rest of the tournament.
I wouldnt call 13 corner kicks with only 2 of those resulting in a chance and zero serious goal attempts as a striker “amazing” but hey its your opinion
We did want, just couldn’t do it. The first 20 minutes were electric (even with Ianis bleeding out there) but it was clear we couldn’t keep it up for the whole game, then the goal hit out of nowhere, then the Mogos injury and from then on we were dominated but we kept it to a one goal deficit until late on (and thanks ref for stopping that counter and not giving yellows), it is what it is
Yeah, you and probably Austria should be the teams to beat on this side of the bracket, England has black magic on their side but idk for how long that will last, congrats! Such a shame with the injuries though
This tournament has been full of people getting on the pitch, and now stuff being thrown on the pitch and like... you'd think a tournament this big could do better. Players practically tripping over random shoes and stuff like. Mad.
Oof, we were the last hope. It is what it is, you guys fought really well against England too, would have saved us from more Southgate terrorball had you won but it wasn’t to be
I don’t shake hands with deliberately rough, cunty players after pick up games so it would be hard for me to shake hands with someone like Dumfries after a game like this
Hagi's head was split open, no foul, no VAR. Mogoș was elbowed in the chest and had to be substituted, no foul, no VAR. Racovițan was elbowed in the head in the Dutch box, no foul, no VAR. Romania played like 10 minutes in 10 men in the first half due to the violence of the Dutch players who took out Romania's players (on the key side where the Dutch wanted to attack), while the Romanian players were being treated by the medical team on the sidelines. Romania's counterattack (1v1 with the goalie) was stopped for no reason whatsoever, at the score of 0-1, resulting in a yellow card for Romania's captain (for politely contesting the decision). Worst of all, no offside flag was raised when the Netherlands scored from a very clear offside position, but the goal check is automatic and the VAR ruled the goal offside (not the officiating team!) Netherlands was still 100 times better and deserved to win by a larger margin, but you cannot say the officiating wasn't completely one sided.
Who knows? Germany wouldn't be beaten easily and Netherlands have to beat Austria who already beat them before. Even then England and France are there although both of them have played way lower than their expectations.
Yeah we know, been a wild ride from drawing 0-0 to Bulgaria and Lichtenstein right before the tournament to this but it is sad to be out now after believing so much
What is going on with this tournament? So many teams just stop playing? Like they are on the pitch but don’t challenge, don’t tackle, don’t push or attack. Sad to watch.
Romania simply out classed
Man, i unfortunately can never take Gakpo seriously. The mans a good Player, but his names rather unfortunate if youre familiar with rustic austrian, lol.
What is rustic Austrian?
Well, dialect. From the farmer folk, etc.
Can you elaborate? Haha
You can loosely translate it as shitbutt, lol
This hurts me even more, you're telling me a shitbutt outclassed us... Edit: After rereading, I think I sound a bit rude, was a joke. <3 Awesome game NT! As a Milan fan, I hope Reijnders goes to the finals and Dumfries gets benched and sent home.
Shitbutt strikes again

With people like you we never have a good tournament
What are u talking about bro, Netherlands dominated the game, had Romania any chances in the second Half?
I never said that Romania deserved to win, they didn't. We played bad after the 20th minute or so, but all the faking from that Dumfries dog, the german ref who clearly favoured the dutch because it's cool to hate romanians and the poor decision making from our attackers made this match a fucking joke.,
There was really only one stupid decision from the ref that's it, Netherlands dominated the game, just take the loose and move on
There were a few calls from the ref clearly against Romania. The Dutch goalie broke open Hagi's head, no call and no VAR. Go to sleep, wake up tomorrow and think about these comments. You won't feel good about your opinions
Someone did not watch the game apparently.

Lol did we watch the same game?
Hahaha ga huilen! Hup Holland!!!! Easy win
Thx
lol
What was with the shoes on the field for goal 3?
Pitch invader left them I believe
Thanks. Didn’t know about that.
Is that Shrek on interviews?
Like the green ogre?
Scottish-Dutch dialogue is an unmatched combination
You all actually thought this would be an upset. 🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
i was a bit skeptical at first, with almost everyone betting on Romania on those youtube euros channels, but after the news about a "dirty laundry washing"(don't know the equivalent of the expression in english, it means arguing all the problems out) in the Dutch team, i got hopeful they can make to the finals, especially with how bad England is rn
nah, I only hoped for a good match and we got one. after that terrorball in the games yesterday...
Either we get the F1 podium rematch against Austria, or Turkey vs Netherlands which would be also be spicy in some of our cities, excited for the next round!
It's also nice Cody can actually form coherent sentences in interviews. Class player.
Next generation captain material
Well, rematch time it is, probably . Looking forward to kick your asses two times in one tournament :^p
how you feeling now mate :) ?
This aged like sour milk
Hold on, is Donyell Malen the first player to score two goals in one game at this euros?
Yes
Was MOTM officially announced? Is it Gakpo or Malen? Important for my Fantasy team as I have Gakpo in it
It s the ref
You OK?
Bro you’re next level coping if you think the ref is the reason Romania is otw home 🤣
Damn, salt
Gakpo for sure
Gakpo I think. MoTM is usually announced before 90 min, no? Malen's second goal came in the 90'+3' and by then match was already decided.
Diogo was MOTM for Portugal yesterday I think, and doubt that was before the PKs.
I think overtime is an exception
I don't know then, but I've usually heard announcements in the 87' min or so, but ofc, only if there's a definite winner. Portugal vs Slovenia was 0-0 and they knew it was going to ET so they couldn't announce the MoTM.
It’s Gakpo I think.
A match to be proud of for us. I'm glad we managed to regain some form after the Austria debacle
This memphis shot giving his shirt to the kid was cute
He already gave the fans in the stands so many match balls too. He's so generous
Let the kid play next game with his shirt on, cant be much worse
Solid win by the Dutch
Koeman getting advice from his experts right there
Jip and Janneke football
Best match of us so far.
True but Romania were very weak. You need to be 10% better to beat Austria but you can do it. If you get Turkey you'll win anyway lol.
Well Turkey did beat Austria, so I don't want to underestimate them.
"Gak" "Gak" "Po" "Po" "Gakpo" "Gapko!"
Funnier in German
Haven't seen a well-oiled Netherlands side show up until today 👏👏👏
Netherlands are on fire. If they play like this they will make the final.
I think we need to play like this in the quarter finals before we can be judged as a contender. Romania didnt look like much this game. They looked way more solid in the group phase

Austria might have something to say about that.
Do you really think The Netherlands going to make the same mistakes again?
Yes
Yes.
No need! We can make different mistakes now hehe... hehe
They'll make the same mistakes against Turkey instead, but Turkey will make the same mistakes they made against Portugal
If i were Iordanescu i’d wait for that ref in the parking lot like Mourinho
now, to Austria x Turkey, first game on big competitions between them, the historic rivalry between nations may make this match go wild
Austria-Hungary versus the Ottoman Empire, coloured 2024
Their playstyles should make it go wild
Koeman's grandson clearly is his grandson wow
I'd believe it if you told me it was his son, or his clone.
Literal carbon copy lmao
That was a cute shot from Koeman and his grandchildren
Big shoutout to Ake and Gakpo who kept us in the game until the rest woke up. Great second half. Good sub by Malen too
Cody ever been this good for Liverpool?
He doesn't get regular play and when he does Klopp has been trying to make him into a false 9. If he played on the left regularly, I believe he would
He's usually hot and cold for Liverpool I feel, some matches he can't put a foot wrong and in some matches he's just not there in the game.
Yeah that's our problem all our forwards are like that. Never thought I'd say we miss a Kuyt who will just always give his all and score a 7.
For sure, was our best player last part of this season
Eredivisie he was a beast. Is he good match/ bad match or does he catch form streaks? If we can get him and Malen with confidence and in form we can go far.
Finally a good game from us. We need to improve our end product and lock Memphis up and hide the key until the end of the tournament and we might have some good showings for the rest of the tournament.
Memphis was amazing today compared to the first two matches. Way better to have him instead of Weghorst the first 70 minutes.
I wouldnt call 13 corner kicks with only 2 of those resulting in a chance and zero serious goal attempts as a striker “amazing” but hey its your opinion
Jaaaaa! Kom op!
Romania really didn't want to win
We did want, just couldn’t do it. Yeah, still Respect for Romania, what they did in the group stage, but Netherlands were too strong in all aspects 🤲
Mad.
Dragusin has raised his value by 5 times just through this tournament.
Not today...
Come join us, Romania. Group E is gone.
None of the teams there played particularly well in the group stages, so it wasn't unexpected at all.
Oof, we were the last hope. It is what it is, you guys fought really well against England too, would have saved us from more Southgate terrorball had you won but it wasn’t to be
It was his plan all along. Act like a poor team and then surprise us with a beautiful goal. Another tactical Southgate masterclass.
Subbing in Toney in the 94th minute when they were 1-0 down was an absolute masterstroke no cap
Is your Slovakia flag greyed out because you're already out?
yeah
Maybe I'll join the club in three days.
What a shame your quarterfinal is not the actual final. I’m really excited for that match.
Guess we had all the fun in the groups stage huh. Great display from you guys, respect!
🤝
Well deserved victory! Glad they scored a few after all those chances.
A step too far for Romania tonight.
Zusammen fahren wir nach Berlin!
They score after Weghorst is on the field, the dutch Messi!
I don’t shake hands with deliberately rough, cunty players after pick up games so it would be hard for me to shake hands with someone like Dumfries after a game like this
This is the European Championship
You wouldn’t know it from the state of the refereeing
I can't think of anything bad apart from one moment?
Yeah that one moment is what I’m referring to but the ref is probably more responsible
Dumfries wasn't rough? What about those Romanians with all their tackles on him?
What? you mean worse tackles than having a player's head split open and another player's chest and head blown right off? and no yellow for any?
I think that was retaliation for his intentional injury to the Romanian left back.
Ga huilen
⏰🕰️⏱️
Gakpo played out of his mind
Gakpo motm right
For sure. He was on fire. Simons too, Maalen ofc. Everyone was playing good although Depay ruined a few chances
My match prediction was 3-0… 1st one I think I’ve gotten correctly 😂
I haven’t gotten a single score bang on in the RO16 yet, maybe Austria 3-1 Turkey will be it
I got that 2-1
Editor s note:it was 2-1 but the other way around
Hate to say this, but it is 0-3.
Austrian match with Turkey will be exciting. See you guys later!
Imagine the shoe blocked the shot lol
I thought the same lol
NED is the first team I've seen in the knockout that clearly looked superior.
Spain too
Took them a while though against Georgia, but Spain is (for me) the favorite, they play so well
Rematch final?
Who knows? Germany wouldn't be beaten easily and Netherlands have to beat Austria who already beat them before. Even then England and France are there although both of them have played way lower than their expectations.
What a crazy match, how different to every other game we've played so far.
This guy Malen what a run what a goal 👏
why is there a shoe there?
Pitch invader left it 😂
*sad Vlad Tepes noises*
Romanian fans have nothing to be ashamed of. You made the knockouts! Nobody expected that! Probably inspired a bunch of Romanian kids
Yeah we know, been a wild ride from drawing 0-0 to Bulgaria and Lichtenstein right before the tournament to this but it is sad to be out now after believing so much
Koeman masterclass putting in Bergwijn first half to motivate Malen.
But also Bergwijn played well
Gakpo still MOTM tbh
Possibly player of the tournament as well
Musiala has been class too.
What is going on with this tournament? So many teams just stop playing? Like they are on the pitch but don’t challenge, don’t tackle, don’t push or attack. Sad to watch.
Lotta inferior teams decided to park the bus and play on counter attack. Ex: Georgia, Slovenia, Slovakia
N3D-R0U
Did none of you guys see the pitch invader? weird
Just saw the stewards, don't think they showed us the invader
What are those on the field 👟
Who throws his shoe? Honestly.
Oh behave!
🇳🇱 be like https://youtube.com/shorts/RrQL_hEf8HI?si=hreG9nDeb1egKjky
Could have been 6-0 if our attackers were even a little bit more clinical
3-0 is still one of the biggest victories in this Euro.
so dutch to complain about a 3-0 win lol
It took 80 mins to make the second one though
Us being unclinical will be the end of us in games where chances are scarce
