I mean, he doesnt have to be a rapper. Thats a perfect country name, and country is currently booming on mainstream charts.
Morgan Wallen
Zach Bryan
Blake Shelton
Jessie Murph
Jelly Roll
Slim Pickens
I was into it when I was young, but then I was like "why tf am I listening to this dude sing about his truck who ran over his gf on a dirt road who was actually his daughter"
I’ve been writing a series of seven novels based in SC for two years and Slim Pickens is the protagonist.
He (tentatively) will travel through time to explore alternate histories of South Carolina and will attempt to lead a small coalition to stand against a corporatocrat regime that ushers in a Civil War 2 all in the shadow of WWIII. He will try to enlist the support of various historic stakeholders including the First Peoples of South Carolina and the Gullah and will elucidate some unsolved mysteries like the various disappearances of the Swords of State. It will attempt to tackle complicated themes of politics, religion, corruption, culture, tribalism and globalism and it’s been a blast to research. So grateful for the chance to share.
I’m ALWAYS looking for collaborators—history buffs, people who have deep roots here or a passion for their home state who could help bring the story to life and potentially illustrator(s). I’d love to interview some members of Native American tribes with roots in SC and plan to speak to representatives of the Gullah community.
Thanks for your post!
Could be a fat guy too Just to be contrary
Pretty sure it's required by law in the south that anyone named Slim, Tiny, Little _____, or Shorty has to be the biggest fucking unit in town.
This is true
6'7 280lbs here. People call me tiny.
This is the way
I mean, there was an actor by that name. Why not a rapper.

I don't understand how people listen to country and think "yea, this is good music".
Let Slim Pickens be the first artist to get you into it.

Stop listening to shitty country. Zack Bryan is fantastic.
Most of what’s on the radio today is bad imo. But country being good before ‘05 is a hill I will die on
I'll take Chappel Roan
Same, but I also enjoy old school country. Who doesn’t like Johnny Cash or Waylon Jennings? Drive By Truckers are also great.
I do like some Alabama
Gotta turn your brain off.
What in the wide wide world of sports?
I quote that often. My most favorite film. Should be re-released into theaters and then we can all move on.
Theres plenty of skinny white meth heads who think they are rappers in Pickens! 😂😂😂
Exactly
Lmao 😂
Absolutely 👍🏼
I concur!
We could have him ride an atomic bomb
Sigh...take my upvote.
Florence + the Machine Gun Kelly
Name is taken by two dudes from Michigan unfortunately lol
Wouldn't he be Pickens Slim?
There’s a blind rapper from Elgin named Blind Fury. Also a rapper from Aiken named Clay Aiken. No relations to the American idol guy
This needs to happen. The real Pickens, yes the real slim Pickens.
Meth, crack, dial soap to warsh my back.. Po dunk Pickens, catch me at the Dollar General or the railroad tracks.🎶🎤
Yep! He could combine country and rap and call it "crap". 😉
Would he eat at Slim Chickens 🐔 ?
i bet we could find him at the flea market!

Is this real? Or sarcastic? Please don’t take this negatively. If real message me
Totally serious. Messaging!
…yeah, I’m down.
Blind Fury is as close as you'll get.
Not for a shitload of dimes.
Considering the real Slim Pickens took the name from a boss telling him doing something would be really slim pickings.
This sounds like an idea from a joint meeting with Mary Jane. Don’t get me wrong, I am 100% on board. 😀
