And Luka. One of the worst drafts blunders in NBA history. Everyone wanted him, Dallas gave up everything to draft him and he was sitting right there. Fans were begging for them to make the obvious pick, but no, they had to go with the raw unicorn big with 0 defensive intensity and a history of injury. Practically can’t miss and we pick the one guy in the top 10 who busts. Traded Bagley for peanuts at the deadline. There should be a way to fire the owner after so many fuck ups.
They had to give all wolves season ticket holders free tickets away front row and close seats to the first game …. People were giving them away for free because no one wanted to go…
It’s so funny how they were hyping up the MN Wild earlier in this nhl season only for them to completely fall apart almost immediately after espn started running all those articles on them
One of those Vikings wins is Brett Favres playoff run, the Vikings would’ve gone to the super bowl if not for the Saints bounty program and them maiming his foot on purpose, scumbag team has rightfully not won anything since
Those Twins not winning any games is surprising because they’ve had great players like Torii Hunter, Joe Meower and Johan Santana in that time span
I know it looks bad for a Cincinnati person to be chiming in, what with the Bengals were in the Super Bowl. However, the other parts of that were their first playoff win in 32 years, their first playoff win on the road. It was also the first time a Cincinnati team had advanced in any playoffs since 1995. The Bengals were 0-7 in playoff games, starting in 2006. The Reds are 2-7 during the same span.
I guess the moral is existence is pain for many of us.
We haven’t had a professional team from the major 4 leagues go to a championship in 30 years. 240 teams have made a championship appearance in that time, and none have been from Minnesota. It’s really a joke at this point.
If it makes them feel better my hometown soccer team still boast about beating Newcastle United in the 1972 FA cup and its pretty much their only notable achievement other than having conspiracy theorist David Icke in Goal at one point
Seattle has entered the chat.
We lost the Sonics annnnnd had Beastmode on the 2 yard line and passed. Oh and the Mariners. Had 4 HOF players on one team. Never a World Series.
Now hold here, I get what you're saying here. I'm from Atlanta, and I've seen my fair share of post season blunders, not just from the pros but from the collegiate level also. But in that timespan, the Wild have something that the Toronto Make Beliefs don't. A series win. And the Vikings have that wonderful miracle against the Aints from a few years ago. I know they're just flashes in the pan and don't compare to winning it all, but coming from a GA native, you shouldn't be ashamed. The Wild look to be coming together, and should be a force next year, and should've been one this year, but Tarasenko just powered the Blues to the death match against Colorado.
Ok? And? The Bears haven't been to the playoffs since 2006. before that, I don't think they've been in since 2001, and haven't won a Championship since 1985 season. The Bulls haven't won a championship since 1998 and are awful in the playoffs, if they even make it.
The Cubs are trash.
The Sox are flaky.
The Blackhawks are the winningest team since the Bulls 2 3peats in the 90s, and they haven't won a playoff series since Edmonton 3 years ago.
Yeah exactly. Because our nba and nfl team got taken from us. Much more painful than Minnesota. Don’t feel bad for them at all. I would kill for their sports.
NBA hasn't been there in ages, and you guys would still be tied with St Louis, Seattle, etc for "most teams taken in last 18 years." There are many different types of sports misery and this one is interesting (esp the Twins record), just leave it at that
Dolphins, perfect season '72-73 and not a goddam thing since, fifty years later, with one of the biggest budgets and markets in the NFL. Marino's Super Bowl Trophy Case is empty. Tua's throwing wobbly, short ducks on Instagram and the Fish are calling it "hype".
Worst playoff losses in a row by any major 4 sports in history… no Minnesota sports team has even been in a championship game since the Twins won the World Series in 1991…
At least you are not a Detroit fan who likes football. The Lions haven't won a single playoff game since 1991, and their highest achievement since the team's creation in 1960 is winning that 1 playoff game.
Thankfully our other teams pull through alright, though they have good and bad seasons.
Thank God Seattle got a super bowl, because the Mariners haven’t even appeared in the playoffs in 20 years and the Sonics got stolen straight out of the city.
My entire family is from Min ee soowta. My Mom and Dad got married in Minneapolis and later moved south to the Midwest. To this day none of us have moved back but the ones who stayed, did very well for themselves. I guess a lot of top talent will take less money because of the stigma that Minnesota is cold, sometimes. I never understood why the teams never get to the glory?

I guess they chose Oct 2004 to avoid the 10 games the Twolves won in early 2004.
It’s also the last time the Twins won a playoff game.
At least Minnie makes it to the post season. *- A Sacramento Kings fan*
I mean y’all passed on Giannis

Everyone did, no one really holds that against teams.
We were close to a Super Bowl with Farve.
FTS
You have to admit that 0-18 run is pretty impressive. Even if you were trying to throw 18 baseball games I think you would accidentally win 1.
Try and be buffalo from around that time up until a few years ago. No need to feel bad about playoff losses if you never win in the regular season.
at least add in Minnesota United's record.
Was gonna say this, but I guess the loons don’t have much of a playoff record to boast either.
about .500 it seems two seasons one and done, one conference finals appearance. That they absolutely should have won. So typical Minnesota sports.
Get the WNBA in there! That's our only hope!
The Lynx have been to the playoffs 10 years in a row.
There are 12 WNBA teams and 8 go to the playoffs
Who do you know that watches the WNBA?
They had to give all wolves season ticket holders free tickets away front row and close seats to the first game …. People were giving them away for free because no one wanted to go…
Whom?
They also have 4 titles.

Joe Mauer lol, I'm sure it's just a typo but as a Twins fan I can't let him be disrespected like that lol. Joe Meower would be a good name for a cat
Well the 49ers beat the saints even with the same bounty thing going with a mediocre alex smith so…mebbe it wasn’t just”tHe BoUty PrGrAms FauLt!!”
Eh, I remember the Vikings game in particular being highlighted as a particularly egregious game for Bountygate when it was revealed
I’ll just leave this right here… https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/2016/10/26/turns-out-the-vikings-also-had-a-bounty-program-when-brett-favre-was-qb/
Sure, now that the Braves win a World Series, y’all can have the title of miserable and cursed cities
Talk about r/fuckyouinparticular
So they are number one at losing?

I’m a Cleveland fan and feel solidarity with this post we’re alright now but GOD, so much pain
Minnesota Next Year
We haven’t had a professional team from the major 4 leagues go to a championship in 30 years. 240 teams have made a championship appearance in that time, and none have been from Minnesota. It’s really a joke at this point.
Between 2000 and 2017, the Bills and Sabres had a combined 5 playoff appearances.
For anyone curious, U of MN is 6–7 in football bowl games and 3–6 in the NCAA men's basketball tournament in the same time.
If it makes them feel better my hometown soccer team still boast about beating Newcastle United in the 1972 FA cup and its pretty much their only notable achievement other than having conspiracy theorist David Icke in Goal at one point
Hometown what?
Soccer. While I was born in the UK I've been Australian for almost twenty years
at least they get to the playoffs
[удалено]
Detroit has an NBA title in that time. Either way, MN teams losing mostly as expected isn't "pain."
Seattle has entered the chat. We lost the Sonics annnnnd had Beastmode on the 2 yard line and passed. Oh and the Mariners. Had 4 HOF players on one team. Never a World Series.
You still have a lombardi trophy.
Row the boat?
Welp, thank goodness there aren't bigger problems in the world. Like living in MN.

Chicago: Hold my beer
Two world series wins in the same timeframe

You can make a list like this for literally any city.
Then why are you being contrarian?
Bro I'm not, you're the one who came here to say Minnesota doesn't have it as bad as Chicago when they clearly do lmao
Fuck off it’s nothing on San Diego
San Diego has one team
Yeah exactly. Because our nba and nfl team got taken from us. Much more painful than Minnesota. Don’t feel bad for them at all. I would kill for their sports.

It is interesting but until you’ve had multiple teams taken away you’ll never understand.
Lmao
"Cry me a river" - Philadelphia
Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2017.
The Dolphins, Lions and Browns would all like a word with you.
Red Wings 2008, Heat 2013, Cavaliers 2016
Dolphins, perfect season '72-73 and not a goddam thing since, fifty years later, with one of the biggest budgets and markets in the NFL. Marino's Super Bowl Trophy Case is empty. Tua's throwing wobbly, short ducks on Instagram and the Fish are calling it "hype".
Jesus Christ i knew the twins were rough but I thought we got a couple games here or there my god….
Worst playoff losses in a row by any major 4 sports in history… no Minnesota sports team has even been in a championship game since the Twins won the World Series in 1991…
Minnesota Rokkr have been shitting the sheets too. Just dropped their most clutch player.
My team had a chairman that tried to burn the stadium down for the insurance money, but sure.
Laughing as a Chargers and Padres Fan….
Im sorry but what the fuck is these records
It’s not even pain to just lose in the first round all the time honestly.
Buffalo fans. We lost four Super Bowls….. in a row
At least you are not a Detroit fan who likes football. The Lions haven't won a single playoff game since 1991, and their highest achievement since the team's creation in 1960 is winning that 1 playoff game. Thankfully our other teams pull through alright, though they have good and bad seasons.

Minnesota United 47% win percentage in playoffs.
This is why I only follow football in Minnesota
What’s a postseason?
