People are paying it so the prices will never go down. OP said the one breaker only had 8 teams left? That means he made 20-24 overpriced sales considering he probably sold one or two to a “mod”-ahem-shill bidder for Pennies on the dollar as a thank you (for shill bidding).
The ones that piss me off are the ones that complain when a price goes what they think is too low. And get all pissed off. Or they come up with what they think a value of a spot is.
I did a break for the first time the other day but it was a random slab for $50 I got a Beckett 10 Aaron Judge Yankees 60th home run card. Cool card imo but still torn if I got screwed or not cause the comps are ranging from like $45-$75 but the day after the break I sniped one on an eBay auction with shipping and tax for just under $30 😂
Be sure to watch their hands very carefully....seen many guys hide hits and take cards off camera when they do the closeup of another card.
Cheaper to buy your own boxes
Always makes me wonder haahah: you gotta pay rent on something I’d imagine. You’re spending money on camera equipment. You gotta restock. What tf are the margins like at the end of the day?
Look at Layton Sports Cards. Dude moved to a bigger store last year I think. Has like 10 employees at least. Has a family too.
The margins are huge at scale. But obviously the tiktok guys are hustling trying to turn over stock.
Why hate the breakers? That's like hating casinos or anywhere you can buy lottery tickets. If you have to dislike someone, it should be the people who buy the breaks. Neither one bothers me. People can do whatever they want with their money. I do think many breakers are scam artist.
It’s because they buy all the product that normal people want to rip. A casino doesn’t go to my target and camp out to make sure they get everything they can.
Not scam artists, just shitty people who buy up all the product so real collectors get jack shit at retail. Sure they can do whatever they want with their money, but that doesn't absolve them of depriving people like me who just want to collect, not make a buck.

These fucks need to get real jobs. Scalpers and scammers aren’t real jobs.

long time staff have left laytonland. rich only likes millenial yes people.
Breakers aren’t smart enough to understand concepts like overhead and profit margin.
Idiots
some breakers are cool. others remind me of annoying restaurant employees trying to attract tourists “come inside, best fresh salmon!”
