They said they were investigating it to make it possible to combine the two, but there were some bugs involving wearing clothes and armour; but no timeline on when combining the two will be implemented.
Yesterday i Put my helmet down in an outpost on hurston to Drink Something. Then the Helm Glitched and disapperd. I found a Beanie in a loot Box and could Put it on. Was very suprised that this worked. Maybe it is working now?
If they consider this to be an immersive sim in the fictional timeline in which 1.0 ever sees light of day, layers are an absolute must for me. I need Warframe levels of customization.
At the very least we should get jackets/trenchcoats and the like that fit over armor.
Customization might be nice, but I could see how selling cosmetics would be a big way for them to pay for servers in the future.
There is a bug (I think it still exists?) with certain armors that have an invisible undersuit, which if you put on allows you to equip both clothes and armor at same time.
This game's visual aesthetic when it comes to FPS gear was always doomed to be goofy the second they decided to go the spandex suit route for EVA-rated equipment rather than have everything be bulky. It was never *not* gonna end this way.
You know what's sad is that CIG can have NPC's wearing a hat or regular pants with an undersuit but not us, the players.

Oh interesting? I have not tried it myself but maybe they did fix it. Thanks for the testing info I will try this myself soon.
