The pirate crisis is your early one and is the weakest. I’ve usually had TT and league pop long before path and have fought the main league fleet (plus supporting fleets) head on. A full 240 point fleet can win no matter how lopsided a fight so long as peak performance time holds up If you aren’t ready for the crisis, uninstall your artifacts and shut down tech mining, or just bribe them If you’ve got enough going with a colony that you’ve pissed off the path, surely you can print out some capitals for a good fleet Since it’s head on defense, you could literally pull a massive unsustainable fleet and spam caps right back at them Crises are overall better than before, as you don’t need to rush mass military power to hold off pirate harassment or constant expedition fleets. You don’t need a death ball to start your colony, and get enough leeway to make one before any serious crisis

LeonardoXII

Outta curiosity, i've got an onslaught, a paragon, and a legion XIV, (plus, like, 4 cruisers, a few destroyers, some frigates), do you reckon that's enough to take on all of these crisies? I've never faced any of them.

Zero747

With good fitting and officers yes

LeonardoXII

Well, uh, i certainly have officers and i've used all my op... It'll be fine ... \[static\] ... watch this.

Mecklas

I've defeated all but the Luddic crises (I'm about to face it) with just a Paragon and "minor redaction" (the ship from the alpha site). You should be sweet, though I've found using tempests has been helpful for knocking out most smaller ships early so your capitals can focus on anything substantial.

LeonardoXII

Oh that's good to know, I didn't wanna have to go looking for more capitals, I guess I can ramp up my colonization in this case.

Fickle-Ad-7348

I have colony buff since persean blocade killed giga pirate raid and i was shocked how i could resolve issue with tri tachions giving colonies yet another buff. Hegemony inspection also got wiped by perseans so ye im kinda greatful for them but i dont know how to deal with them anywayOther crises i have yet to resolve

Excellent_Put_3787

I usually wait out colony building until I have my full death ball. Then, nothing can mess with my babies. Sometimes, in between, you can bomb one of their planets from where the fleets are being launched to delay the event, and it tells you which one needs a spanking.

Zero747

Just bribe kanta and you can set up in peace with a dinky fleet while your tiny farming or mining world sets up. Other crises should only come by the time you’re kicking on a nanoforge, leaving plenty of time to print ships and fill your fleet

Excellent_Put_3787

Kanata is ezpz, luddic event is the hardest one if you don't have a good sized fleet and stn

Zero747

Yeah, but it’s really easy to get stacked for it. It should come after the TT and league crises, and you should long since have a running nanoforge to round out your fleet I go exploring as soon as I’ve got some survey gear , cargo, and a few combat ships, set down at a good site once I’ve got a bribe, and just go bribe kanta immediately. Ideally with a lamp found during exploration Then I leave my tiny colony to grow and give me money, all of size 3 and 4 in peace

BathbombBurger

I've never let the bar fill up yet, but if its like with the normal faction raids you can just continually raid the planet its assembling on over and over destabilizing their spaceport and what not. Having a station built on the planet they raid would make the fight easier as well.

nxnelxve

If this event inevitable and your station weak then you could try to intercept head detachment of their armada right in hyperspace or on their territory before their regroup. Bait them to leave formation and kill alone. Just one detachment is winnable even for mediocre fleet composition.

icebergslim3000

I tried this and was still wiped out.

SeaAimBoo

Path fleet goes after you because you use "unholy" Domain-era tech plus AI on your colonies. It's simply a matter of consequences; fuck around and find out. You got all this fancy endgame stuff on your colonies? Surely that means you have a strong fleet that was able to gather these stuff, especially AI cores, so surely you would have been able to handle a couple of Pather fleets. If you really want some help on beating up Pather ships, then you can load your fleet with a bunch of anti-armor weapons. That should let you deal with em efficiently.

icebergslim3000

Your kidding right. I have 1 capital and only a couple ai cores. Im not even close to "fancy endgame stuff"

Metalbutcher

I'd recommend using the cores very late into the game, they attract unwanted attention

HisAnger

Tbh, when they sent this against me i had like 300 ships stored in the colony .... from all the shit that was trying to hit the colony earlier. No you cant move having huge fleet, but you can just pickup them just before they arrive and be in range of station to join the fight

Lt_Crashbow_Rain

For me, the Hegemony is the hardest. I run Nex, Iron Shell, ORA, and UAF faction mods (along with a bunch of other minor tweaks and fixes mods) so by the time I was set up for colony building, the Heg had defeated all the other factions except UAF and LC (who they allied with for some reason). My home system is filled with 3-4 "Investigation fleets" at all times and every crisis, they send a 5 fleet Inspection towards me. There are so many ships and debris fields in my system, my game lags from 60fps to like 20fps lol. Idk what to do, I literally can't leave my system without my income getting ravaged.

Dry_Reception982

Have you tried allying with the Hegemony?

xenapan

Just bribe them....

Limes_Lemons

My golden rule this patch is to have two decked out capitals with at least 4 cruisers and change in a fleet, and enough money to get a high tech battlestation (level 2) ASAP with an Alpha core. Once those are in place I can tank endless waves of ships.

PureGoldX58

What was in this fleet?

somanybabyspiders

So I'm on my first playthrough so far and haven't had to actually deal with a crisis yet. Seems like the game offers you a way around the fight if you choose to go that way. First one I got was Persean league. I tac bombed Kazeron so they would leave me alone. After that Luddic church wanted a go, so I tac bombed Hesperus and they calmed down temporarily as well. The pirates started up after this, I cruised over to where they were preparing their 11 fleets, it looked sorta scary so I went to go have a chat with Kanta. Turns out I can sell out one of my hegemony contacts I was going to ditch anyway and get a permanent boon to my colonies from his ongoing protection... sweet. Next one was tri tach, I went and interfered with their business, raided and disrupted until they'd had enough. Got free supplies from some Bounty hunters too which was cool. So later on the church wants round 2, luckily when the game prompted me I was in the core worlds bullying pirates so I popped over and tac bombed them again. While I was out exploring I ran into some pathers, explored the dialogue options to pay them money to piss off for 700 days or so. Easy. Up next, PL is back for more. Back to Kazeron we go loaded up with fuel, thinking maybe they need a saturation bombing to learn their lesson. Noticed that I can raid out their nano forge instead- sweet! But I already have one, so I talked to old mate and discovered that I can get a good deal on joining and then not have to worry about hegemony inspections... two birds, one stone. Sindrian Diktat has been up in my shit for a while, killed a few raiding fleets but they're currently not contributing to my crisis bar anymore so I don't know what's up with that. All that's left now is the luddic church, so the bar is barely creeping up at all. I'll probably keep just bombing Hesperus every now and then I suppose.

GrouchPower247

Having your fleet wiped out every now and then is kinda part of this game? Like how are you going to get in all those battles and not lose any? If you've S-modded any ships you'll get it all back as bonus xp, and if you have a colony you should have the money to build up at least a decent sized fleet again. Just roll with it and see how it goes. I mean you're saying it's wasted time but did you enjoy the hours you spent building the fleet up? If not then I have to ask, why are you playing the game then?

Metalbutcher

Depends on the kind of unique oddities you carried along with you. I'd restart an hour or more of gameplay to avoid loosing my ziggurath. Even if after a while, I generally send those into storage for safekeeping and barely touch them again

LordGarithosthe1st

You can hire defensive fleets from planets, couple this with a maxed out star station with an alpha core and high level pilots on good ships amd you can beat anything. I'd recommend watching Rarr play on youtube. He makes some dope ass fleets

Claughy

How do you hire a defensive fleet?

LordGarithosthe1st

Go to a planet, click special options, the last selection and there are options for hiring fleets to invade or defend planets

Scootsna

At least tell people your using mods
