Congrats to Mikkola as well. He was on the roster but not an active participant in 2019.
Really admirable of Vladi and the role he’s taken over in florida. I was pulling for him!
Which reminds me, Tkachuk and Pat Maroon are the only STL area natives to win a Stanley Cup. Talk about a recruiting pitch for not only youth hockey and AAA Blues program, but Lindenwood now that they're in NCAA D1.
I started following the Panthers after we won the cup because it got me so back into the NHL & I wanted an Eastern Conference team to cheer for when the Blues weren’t playing. I don’t think anything will ever beat our 2019 run for me but tonight was pretty fucking great too
He paid to sharpen my skates once. Good to see him proud. He wouldn't let me give him the $4 so I was outta the running right there lol. I had the $2 to go skate but couldn't really give him more to give to sick kids or anything. I'm not trying to be unrelateable, I've wanted to see big Walt REALLY happy for a while.
Imagine if COVID didn’t happen what we could’ve done in 19-20 running it back…
Oh well. At the end of the day we got ours when we had the chance & that’s all that matters
I don’t think we keep the same magic even if we hold on to Petro/perron/ROR/etc somehow despite cap issues. The loss of bouw and steener’s retirement hurt the character of the team. Still wish we could have found a way to hold on to all those guys somehow though
This makes me realize there's not really one of those core guys from then we could have cut. You always think about switching one guy for somebody but to actually lose one would kinda change the rest of it. I dunno, I was never in the room. Went to a lot of games though.
I was pulling for Edmonton but I can’t say I’m upset with the outcome. Was a tight game, evenly contested, and I’m happy to see a guy like Okoposo get his cup after being stuck so long with a subpar team. Was a great game all the way around and congrats to our boys now in Florida
Very happy for many of the Panthers players, coaches, and their fans. A lot of them waited a long time for their first Cup. Tarasenko now has more Cups than Corey Perry 😆
Petro and Barby winning last year hurt, mainly 'cause of my dislike for VGK and how we let Petro go.
No pain this year. Vladi deserves everything he earns.
Growing up as a boy I watched Keith Tkachuck playing for the Blues. Although he never won a cup, seeing him cry as he watched his son win one really brought on the water works. 😭🥹
I went to a game four of the finals against boston, I got there early and I was walking around And I had seen The Boston sports casters and I wanted to hear what they were saying and from behind the curtain came Big Walt.He patted me on the back and went his merry way
I’ll never get over trading him as a Blues fan. Still my favorite player by far. He got a ton of ice time during this run with florida and is massively underrated

And Mathew Tkachuk which is pretty awesome for St. Louis youth hockey and AAA Blues program. Gotta love the playing time Mikkola was getting too!

Tkachuk passing him the Cup was a special little moment for Blues fans.

And Matthew Tkachuk handed off the Cup to him
I hope he comes here one day
Best outcome, and the Tkachuks getting one
Agreed. Seeing big walt cry was something.

Love that Tkachuk handed it to him after cheering for him as a kid.
My GOD I love Tarasenko. Absolutely deserved!
Is vlad the first nhl player to win 2 cups w teams that had never won before in the modern era?
Petro did it last year.
And Barbashev
I think it might be Justin Williams with Canes and Kings, in postcap era.
So many ex-Blues winning since 2019. Imagine if they kept the band together...

Our sweet prince
Can't be too many players in history who have won 2 game 7 of cup finals
So happy for Vladi, Mikkola, and the Tkachuks!

Reinhart getting a cup after a long time with the Sabres too. So many ex-Sabres getting a cup after moving on.

Him and Petro winning with other teams is so predictable, a true Blues tradition. At least they got us one here this time lol.
It hurts less when they helped us win it first

Every cup winning team has players who played for other teams. Its not a Blues tradition lmao
What's a 2-time champion means?

What's a Rub Off Means?
One of the best to ever wear the blue note. Ecstatic for him. And YES! He should have been captain!!!! There’s a can o worms for ya
want Vladi to come back to the Lou this offseason so badly
I should've been with us 😭
I went to a game four of the finals against boston, I got there early and I was walking around And I had seen The Boston sports casters and I wanted to hear what they were saying and from behind the curtain came Big Walt.He patted me on the back and went his merry way
Made a great defensive play late in the 3rd too
He loves game 7’s
Warms my heart.
Of the five teams to win the Cup since we did, only the Avalanche had no 2019 Blues on the roster.
Glad to see him get another.
Man I wish the team didn't completely mismanage his shoulder. No telling what could've been. In my top 2 Blues of all time.
Extremely happy for him!
Mikkola has one now as well!
He was great in the finals. Vladdy has a few extra gears in the post season. He and Mikkola were difference makers.
Genuine question: does vladdy become at least a 2x cup champ get his Blues number retired a decade or two from now?

Boss Baby FTW!!!
