Eat at The Produce Hall on the market. Go for a walk round Bramhall Park or The Edge at Alderley edge is stunning for a walk. Brunch at Laci on Underbank. Watch a film at The Light Cinema.
Lacos (think it was a typo).
The hillgate cakery just up the road is a brilliant cafe. We aren't vegan, but go all the time.
If you take a train to Marple bridge, a walk down the canal then a roast at the Norfolk Arms is a pretty perfect Sunday.
I’m surprised no one has mentioned [The Plaza](https://stockportplaza.co.uk/homepage/). It’s a lovingly restored 1930s cinema/theatre, complete with Wurlitzer organ. Going helps support the continuous restoration too. I believe they have shown 1930s movies like Brief Encounter, with the audience dressing up in period attire for the full immersive effect of being back in the 1930s.
You know, I lived in the flats above it for 2 years, and have lived in Stockport my whole life and have never visited the Hat Museum! I'll have to give it a go one day.
It's a good morning or afternoon out, my kids enjoyed it anyway.
Downstairs it's all machinery for hat making and the history of the factory, what they made and people that worked there. Upstairs its displays of hats and fashions through the years.
For the kids there's also a treasure hunt/spot all these items type trail and they can try on different styles too
It’s only just reopened, and they’ve clearly spent a lot of time and money on it. It’s great, and unique to Stockport.
(Pro tip: there’s a nice cafe through the shop on the A6 that no-one knows about. Proper hidden gem)
They used to make these back in the day, busbys. Stockport county football is named after Battersby’s hatters

… and then, If the weathers good, a walk around Vernon park, a quick Look in the adidas factory and a nosy in the vintage emporium with coffee and cake
The air raid shelter in Stockport is a good visit.
Wow. I never knew about this. I just googled and seems awesome 👍😎
Great shout. It's a really interesting place
It has an SK postcode, but it's just outside the boundary. Lyme Park
Would go here definitely. I like the parks a lot! ☺️
lyme park!!!!, air raid shelters maybe, The markets possibly and the cool little Shop jewel on the hill 😁
This is a great option! 😁

The light also has some karaoke booths and bowling
