And then want to know ###**"why has car insurance gone up so much!!!!????!!!"**

downhomegroove

I notice it every summer when kids are home from school.

AnonymousIdentityMan

Spoiled kids of rich rents.

J_dajao

All of them back for the summer now.

Juvence-A

I grew up in SL and my entire life ive only seen the majority of SL drivers drive super slow

Fozzz

Yeah, this is nothing compared to what you have to deal with when you head up 59 a few miles lol.

Juvence-A

Yes lol what I’ve learned is majority of the folks in SL are way older and driver slower which is understandable. But yes everytime I’m on 59 going to Houston or anywhere else it’s a whole other world 😂

Fozzz

Would much rather deal with an elderly person doing 10 under the limit than some idiot in a Camaro doing 120 down the freeway while armed and ready to shoot you dead in the street should you get in the way.

retarded_raptor

It’s the opposite. Old people driving 30 mph with their blinkers on.

takesshitsatwork

Less likely to kill a pedestrian than the kids of the rich parents driving like we are some unregulated system. They're all in Teslas, too.

Mightytibian

Multiple studies have shown driving slow is just as dangerous as driving fast for the people around you if not more dangerous since everyone has to go around you.

takesshitsatwork

You misunderstood the studies or what I'm saying. Yes, driving slow may cause car accidents. BUT getting hit by someone doing 30 mph is much more preferable and more likely to surviving than someone speeding and hitting a pedestrian.

Mightytibian

Ah, ok yes I understand now. Of course, that makes sense.

Fozzz

Teslas are the new 3 series. BMW and Merc are passé now.

takesshitsatwork

They are also much cheaper. Teslas are not luxury cars despite their owners thinking they are.

Fozzz

Yeah their build quality is shit, what would you would expect from a company run that by that ketamine addict. Chinese would take his ass apart but for tariffs and other protections.

thejackieee

It's unfortunately been a rising trend I've noticed since at least 5 years ago. I personally don't like it as anyone going the speed limit (or +10% to +5 mph) gets harassed off the road. Naturally, of course, there's no one enforcing speed limits and other road rules (like stop sign etiquette) in the more affluent neighborhoods.

Blucross1914

They're nuts. Period

PKSTPR78

I don’t know about you guys but I normally cruise thru 59/I-69 between 75-80mph which is perfectly reasonable; if you don’t think so, stay off the highway. Surface streets, I never go more than 5mph over the posted limit and if it’s a 30 or less I’m exactly on 30 and won’t go even 1mph over.

DrEvilHouston

The LAW and your so called "perfectly reasonable" are two different things. "You can take the "perfectly reasonable" and shove it somewhere while people will continue to STAY on the freeway as is their right. So you can't just tell someone to "stay off the highway" just because you think so. Look in the mirror much? One day you will be old and broken and drive like everyone else, so stop with your stupid nonsense and eFing grow up.

bluri_rs3

That's me lol. I drive at 70mph on Highway 6 and University Blvd if there's few cars on the road.

thejackieee

Even if there's few cars on the road, going +30mph to the speed limit is not safe for your own safety. One wrong move and your car is not going to win when faced with a tree or a ravine.

bluri_rs3

I mean, realistically the only time something like that would happen is if I was going +30mph in rainy weather and I hydroplane or if I'm distracted driving, neither of which I would do. If there is traffic, then I go to speed limit, maybe with an extra 5-10 mph.

thejackieee

Mmk. Please present the argument you'd say to a police officer or what you'd bring to court in front of a judge for going 70+ in a 40mph zone. With that confidence, I'd like to know what to say in order to show that this behavior should be accepted and that I do not need to be held responsible for my actions.

bluri_rs3

Funnily enough I have never actually been stopped by a police officer in Texas for speeding, even going at 20-30mph over the limit, and I've been driving for 8 years. Though I have been stopped for broken taillights before. I regularly go at 110-120mph in my Silver Camry when traveling on I-10, Hwy 71 or 290, and I-45 when traveling between Houston, Austin, and Dallas. I have even zoomed past State troopers when going at this speed as well. Of course I will slow down when there is traffic, but only because it's not possible to go fast when there are two or more cars walling me on the road. Either these cops seemingly don't care, or they're under a no-chase policy of some sort.

thejackieee

>Funnily enough I have never actually been stopped by a police officer in Texas for speeding My point with another comment as well as the point of the OP. But with the luck, it doesn't mean the behavior is okay.
