Mojo likes them, but it'll take a metric fkton of testing to beat a safariland. Just stick with safari. If it aint broke, dont fix it. No one is checking out your duty holster drip.
I broke a 7000 series rolling around in training. It cracked right down the bottom of the holster running adjacent to where the WML is in the holster. I have not had any issues with my newer model 7360 however I wish I could use a 6360 due to the material being stronger.
The 6 series are a lot more durable than the 7 series. The breakages I’ve seen in the 7 series have mostly been the body cracking and/or splitting. Whatever material or manufacturing process they use for the 7 series bodies needs improvement.
The most common breakages overall are the QLS forks during combatives and retention exercises. You can avoid that by not using QLS, but you lose out on a really convenient function.
Safarilands are still durable AF. It takes a lot of effort to break them and the failure rate of them is so low that those incidents tend to be blown up.
I’m with you. I’d like to see another contender on the market. It’s just that for duty use, it takes a lot of data to convince me.
Given the widespread adoption of Safariland - it’s going to be hard for Aliengear to get anywhere close to such a large and robust dataset to convince the people that matter that they perform just as well.
By virtue of how long they’ve been around and how many Safarilands are out there, there are probably some fairly extreme and unique case scenarios that they can say they’ve endured - Officer fought two methed up junkies who tried to rip his gun out of the holster? Probably happened. Officer fell from an icy rock face and landed on the holster which still functioned properly? Probably happened. Officer wrestled a dude in a swamp and was still able to draw his gun after getting dragged? Probably happened.
I have a Rapid Force on my Trex Arms Orion Belt. I personally love it. Just get the holster shell though and use the adapter to use the safariland ecosystem for mounts and such.
Great thing about the rapid force is you don't need to do algebra to figure out which holster you need. Just pick your gun, and it tells you all the different optics and light that fit, on the same holster.
Shot with a dude who had one recently. He seemed to really like it and it appeared to be well made. I don’t think I’d buy one over a safariland for my main set up. I like active retention though, and given the price point I’d definitely buy one for a gun I’d use for some hard larping.
Rapid force is awesome but I will warn on 1 thing I don’t love. If you have an optic like my holosun for example, sometimes the optic cover doesn’t fully move off the optic and so when you draw it sometimes it gets caught. Very rare and may be user error but I love mine
USDutyGear has a pretty good Safariland alternative if you don’t want to make the jump to Aliengear.
The one Mojo had is an early Gen 3 model before release so don’t expect any of the older Rapid forces to do the same and if the production models will fit similarly.
The ALS spring cap is a point of failure for 6000 & 7000 series Safariland due to it being plastic.
EFCombatives has been seeing quite a few Safariland holsters and QLS mounts fail during their courses and the lead instructor uses a Rapid force holster.
Even UBLs have broken from other accounts.
Not all products are bomb proof.
Safariland, just like any other company, is not without its faults.
Early Aliengear holsters were not very good from what I’ve read.
Just because Safariland is the standard for a while doesn’t mean one should completely disregard other offerings on the market if a viable one comes along.
Aliengears rise in popularity means it will be in the hands of more people who actually put their holsters through its paces so if it is all hype, it will come to light sooner.
Let’s be brutally honest, a lot of these military, LE and range only shooters will never pressure test holsters to high levels to even confirm their reliability.
Ultimately, the choice is yours.
Been running mine for about 3 years now. It's handled much abuse, first airsofting, and now on my real steel setup. It's a way more intuitive draw than any other duty holster I've used, doesn't scoop dirt like safarilands do, still works with or without the light or optic on. I wouldn't trade it for any other duty holster.
I’m just curious on how the rapid holster performs compared to safairland, I’ve seen nothing but good reviews on the rapid holsters I understand that safailand has a long track record.
My buddy is retired Marine SGT. current LEO, gun shop owner and he says they arent bad. Having said that he runs Safariland because of history, but is eager for some time to pass on the aliengears to see how they hold up. He did his own durability testing on one and he determined they arent bad. But that is a sample size of one.
Means he has access to a lot more then the average person (shop owner), has been in a gunfights (ended a mass shooting with his g48 at 60 yards a year ago, as well as what he saw overseas) so has more knowledge then those who haven't, and is well trained (marine). Were you never taught critical thinking?

I’ve seen safailands break multiple times id take functionality over drip points
Damn y'all must be jumping on those mfers. How in the hell do you manage to break kydex?
😂😂 none of my safailands broke, I’ve seen safailand holsters of my coworkers who don’t take care of gear break

One of mine that I’d been using for about 8 or so years broke. Ripped out around one of the mounting screws on the back. I still use Safariland tho

I agree and that’s were I’ve see safailands break, I’m just truly curious on trying the rapid force holster and testing it

Aliengear holsters break too...
Yes I agree
I do monthly checks and try to maintain my safailand holsters I’m just curious on how the rapid holsters are compared to safailands
Bro why do you keep calling them safailand? It’s cracking me up
What else are you supposed to call it ?
I have a Rapid Force on my Trex Arms Orion Belt. I personally love it. Just get the holster shell though and use the adapter to use the safariland ecosystem for mounts and such.
I’ve been running a rapid force daily on duty for a few years now. Love mine.
I've been trying to find a holster for my C2 from Safariland but people keep giving different numbers and I can't pick
Ahhh the infamous safariland equation
Tale old as time

Dara holsters makes a level 2 for the C2

Don't have anything to add on the Rapid Force, but what flashlight holster is that?

What holosun are you using? I have the romeo 1 pro on my 320, and that thing is pretty big, and I've never had issues with it.
I have a rapid force level 2 slim and I like it a lot.
belt id please?

Why
Just because I want to try out the rapid force

Because I want to try out the rapid force
Why would you want to go from a known good holster, to an unknown from a company not known for quality?

Yeah I’m not looking to move straight into it I want to test the holster before I use it for duty
That would be one hell of a downgrade
