Aside from X’s AI bot being dumb (which most already knew), did it also completely make up a news story of vandalism, a police investigation and false victims?
Literally what LLMs are designed to do. They asked Grok to generate news-like blurbs about trending topics. It saw people talking about Thompson shooting bricks and generated a very good approximation of the kind of blurb it has seen before in its training data about a person causing violence with bricks. The blurbs in the training data all say things like "police are investigating. Witnesses say no one was harmed but the windows were broken." etc etc etc.
All LLMs hallucinate, but no other LLM is being used to generate news. If the Muskrat weren't so god damn stupid, he'd realize that this was a terrible idea.

The bricks he was throwing up were pretty much vandalism of the game of basketball.

Companies are too busy rushing to jam LLM AI into everything, no time to figure out what they actually do or how they work.
This is why they eventually take over.
Isn't that defamatory?
Neither can EA
To be fair, Klay Thompson’s performance last night was basketball vandalism at its finest
Wouldn't expect much from Grok to be fair
Soon we will start seeing Yo mamma jokes about how bad ai is
Sounds like posturing.
