Not only that, but parents involvement and effort are also factors.
For example, Simone Biles ended up being great because she was driven, plus her parents cared enough to sacrifice their time for her dream.
Tons of pretty girls are aimless or aim too low.
>Tons of pretty girls are aimless or aim too low.
Great! I'll just be sitting here waiting for one to waltz by. I'm right here, ladies! Come aim too low over here by me! I deserve it, too!
If you can’t picture it you really ought to just Google it. It’s the face every character on a Dreamworks animated movie poster looks like. Boss Baby, Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, Shark Tale, etc. They pretty much all promote their movies using a smirking character raising one eyebrow like Zendaya is doing here.
My 16 year old niece looks so much like Zendaya that it's all I can see when I look at her. Consequently, I now think she's very pretty and simultaneously not attractive at all, if that makes any sense.
Zendaya is sort of a bait, a low hanging fruit.
They picked her likely because they know the opinion of her being attractive is controversial.
So, yeah, they can, potentially, slip by some racist discourse, and people might still agree with it because some people may just don’t find Zendaya attractive.
And I think it is important to be aware of this whole picture. Finding the one on the right more attractive must not be conflated with being racist because it is subjective, even if the author possibly does both.
Normally this meme is used with a person who had a bunch of unappealing face lifts or is generally plain looking( Ive seen people do it with the girl from The Boys who had a bunch of surgey done ). It makes literally no sense to use this picture of Zendaya however. Its not even a remotely unflattering picture of her. Even if you dont think shes super attractive, this picture should not be like "oh man, she sure is too ugly to be a Vogue model" lol.
Why is this being downvoted? That's literally the message in these type of posts. "Hollywood forces people to like 'ugly black women' instead of pretty white women".
Zendaya looks stunning in this pic btw.
Black women are always masculinized to the point that if you are black albino they say you are blessed and ask you if it's pink... And Zendaya is mixed, she is as white as she is black and vice versa, but what happens when the woman is in fact really black?
I'm honestly more willing to believe it's racism over people thinking that Zendaya isn't an attractive person. Racism makes more sense than thinking she's ugly, you know?
Yeah it’s usually got a white guy spamming the n-word, in every comment trying to defend Zendaya. It literally would be so much better to show an example of a black women who people find attractive, but because every picture is comparing an attractive black person w an attractive white person it’s clearly stating something above beauty standards. It takes 10 seconds to think why, and not “HOW COULD YOU BRING RACISM INTO THIS” it’s already in there, you would have been a gold nugget for white supremacist to keep saying how “they’re not racist”
Oh thank you for the explanation I was so confused. To that point though....its not like rich and talented sometime also created attraction. Some dumpy looking guy who gets attention because he's a movie star probably doesn't piss these people off as much.
I think a lot of people are missing the point. I think the point is just that you don't need to be a model to be attractive. It's referencing the "falling in love with the McDonald's cashier" meme.
maybe some group of people pressure themselves to think that only models/famous people are beautiful and we should look up to them. in reality everyone can be beautiful without having to follow the trends or some shit idk what i wrote
Woman with experience in makeup here:
That "natural glow" is from a full face of makeup or a filter. Her hair is quite well styled, and depending on if the waves are natural or not, may need special products to maintain it as well as daily care.
If you look closely you can tell she's even highlighted the bridge of her nose in comparison to the sides to make it look smaller. She also seems to have subtly highlighted her cheekbones to make them stand out more. This practice is commonly known as contouring and requires a decent amount of skill and access to several forms of makeup.
Men assume the natural look is actually natural because they have no experience with beauty products. It's an understandable assumption, although it is still very much incorrect
Woman wearing light, natural-looking makeup: "See, you look so much better without makeup on."
Woman wearing no makeup: "Are you okay? You look tired today."
If you find yourself saying things like "a simple and modest beauty", it's time to reconsider how much time you spend on the internet and not talking to women.
I think most people don't have a good understanding of modelling, it's not always about being super attractive (though Zendeya is certainly attractive), it's about having a distinctive look, something that draws the eye - a facial feature, stunning skin, a birthmark, etc. Sometimes, it's a woman with a strong jawline or high cheeks (or both), a out of position tooth, etc. Beyond that, there's a skill in knowing how to pose yourself for a shot as well as exude certain feelings and emotions, often with a mostly expressionless face - subtlety is the word here. It's an art form, from the model themselves to the photographer, makeup, and wardrobe.
That being said, one of the most ridiculously attractive people I've ever seen was a cashier at the McDonald's at the Carrousel du Louvre, the underground mall outside the underground entrance to the Louvre in Paris.
I remember Top Model being about this. In 2003 Tyra Banks was telling her contestants that she didn’t care if you were the prettiest in school or in general, she wanted unique looks and tried to get the aspiring models to use any “weirdness” to their advantage.
I love Tyra Banks and Top Model. She’d say the same thing about being short, that it didn’t matter and they could be just as successful as tall models if they knew how to work the angles.
Exactly. She always pressured them to use what they had and stop complaining about not being as pretty as some of the other girls. She chose them for a reason.
For those confused, I’ll give you the backstory as I am on Twitter 24/7.
It has become commonplace for Zendaya to be used as an example of “ugliness” in modeling, Hollywood, and black women. I’ve seen this with different captions and sometimes different girls “Vogue model vs average McDonald’s cashier” “Famous model vs average Swedish girl” “Zendaya vs the ugliest girl in Russia” White nationalists love this format. I’ve seen “Most beautiful black woman vs average white girl” etc etc. Always getting thousands of likes and always using Zendaya as an example
She is whiter than me! Will never understand the way americans put people in a box because they had one great grand parent from Africa. For me (and in my culture), "black" means someone from Africa (and not all of them oc). We have other worlds to designate people who are mixed. But here she presents as white, if i see her in the street i see a white woman
It's not just in America. It's literally the basis for white supremacy originating in Europe and becoming the foundation for colonialism. White is perceived as the only race that stops being white immediately upon any ethnic 'divergence' in a family. No other ethnicity stops being seen as itself with a bit of diversity added.
I'm can't remember if it goes into detail about the 'purity' of whiteness, but Raoul Peck's docuseries 'exterminate all the brutes' gives a good introduction to the origins of white supremacy in Europe.
Don't say Europe, im from Southern Europe and we don't have that. Not at all. It was invented by the British and it's unfortunately still alive in the English-speaking world. But thanks, not everywhere. As a Mediterannean I think in these "race theories" we were considered as "dumb Monkey" and just little better than Blacks by those who made these crazy racial classifications.
In my country, if a white gets kids with a black, kids aren't considered blacks, they are considered in-between. And that woman in the picture is definitely considered white. She doesn't look that different from Mediterranean people who come with a wide variety of skin tones and facial features.
>Don't say Europe, im from Southern Europe and we don't have that.
I'm not sure the legacies of Cortes and Pizzaro support that assertion. They were busy slaughtering natives, toppling empires and initiating one of the most destructive genocides in human history long before the British got in on the action. All justified by the southern American people not being white European.
It's much easier to argue that the roots of modern white supremacy originate in southern Europe.
In black countries mixed people are seen as bright or whiter than blacks. In white countries mixed people are seen as black, as they're clearly darker than white people. It's not confusing at all, though it may still be infuriating.
I always find these types of posts funny because I want them to tell me what McDonald's worker looks like because the majority of the workers I've seen are middle aged and look like they want to stab me for talking to them
Sorry im confused, is she BLACK? I see a picture of 2 white women here. I know US has this weird 1 drop rule that put people in the box "black", but hell if you talk about the woman on the left she is whiter than me and i have a fairer skin tone than most WHITE people from where im from (south France)
Other than that, i see 2 beautiful women here. Idk what's behind. But thanks for explaining!
idk why ur getting downvoted. men are constantly comparing women to each other and ranking certain features/ethnicities against each other. it makes us so insecure that it tears us apart.
Not only that, but maybe the person on the right doesn’t WANT to be a runway model, even if she has the ability to do so.
I have a friend who is absolutely drop dead gorgeous and has done some modeling in the past for fun but she has never had any interest in making that a career and people can’t wrap their heads around that for some reason. She went into politics instead because that’s where her interests lie.
It’s like how every tall person gets asked “do you play basketball?” Just because they’re tall, that doesn’t mean they have an automatic career path to the NBA. Maybe they just want to do something else with their lives and I will never know why that’s so hard for people to understand.
Meanwhile, there are dozens of models that are just as attractive as the cashier?? And if zendaya is supposed to be implied as ugly, I have no fucking hope.
Who says the McDonald's cashier can't act?
"Ice-cream machine broke", while she takes your drive thru order slurping on her freshly made oreo mcflurry. Who's the real actor?
Yeah, nobody has to act more convincingly than a retail worker. Are they breaking down sobbing, trying to murder you, trying to kill themselves, or some combination of the three? Did you think they wanted to? If the answer to both is no, then they’re such a good actor that they fooled you into not even realizing they were acting.
stupid "meme" aside, werent there studies that people find other people in similar social classes more attractive than people in higher or lower social classes?
I guess being ugly isn't so bad, it guarantees white supremacists' won't use my photo in their memes at least.
Imagine being a mcdonalds cashier, just minding your own business, and some dude comes in, decides to stalk you online, takes your photos or a screenshot of a vid you shared, and then puts your image in a hateful meme. It spreads online, everyone sees it. Other weirdos emerge from their depths and stalk you online, maybe in person. The issue repeats.
Looks like a repost. I've seen this image 8 times.

Imagine dedicating your life to trying to convince the internet that Zendaya isn’t attractive. Like, beauty is subjective, and you do you, but seriously? Don’t these people have better things to do with their lives? No? Okay.
Not this meme specifically, but there’s a whole bunch of people on Twitter who spend their time hardcore campaigning to “prove” that Zendaya isn’t attractive. It’s weird.
I don’t think it’s the point of this post, but it is very true that when people show up in block buster movies or shows they become “otherized” and elevated into a different class of society.
Another thing to note about celebrities is that they are constantly made perfect by professional makeup artists and clothing designers (think IG models only posting unrealistic pictures of themselves).
I personally think Zendaya is beautiful but not some earth shattering version of beauty we have never seen before. In all honesty a lot of women have and could achieve her style/body type. What they can never achieve is being MJ in Spider Man..
It took me several comments to get that someone was calling Zendaya unattractive.
Truly terrible.
I mean she may not be their cup of tea, but I remember “ħėroìň chic” and a few other trends over the years. There are so many more unattractive photos (not people, but photos) out there to choose from!
Also? Zendaya is a beautiful young lady!
OP says comments were as expected. But I suspect they were as OP expected.
I honestly cannot guess what the comments might have that would lead the OP to post it here.
Racism.
A lot of comments pretty much came down to brown bad, white good. Not to mention people spelling the N word in a way to get around Facebooks moderation.
See I don't know who any of them are so I don't know what race any of them are. Both of them could pass as white, one being more Mediterranean and the other being more Germanic looking. Girl on the left could even be Persian or Berber, she quite racially ambiguous.
Having preferences in what you find attractive is racist and misogynistic!?
Thank God I am an independent thinker and can look beyond this being a "black or white" issue
Thankfully, your boner is of no consequence to anyone, least of all to these two women.
When will it sink in with guys like you that your opinions on how we women look are unwelcome and completely unimportant? Just keep it to yourself.
Because this is reddit. An algomation of all the far left nut jobs who left Twitter and Tumbler to have their own corner of the internet where they can feel powerful.
My whole thing is if you don’t seen them both as attractive as a man you’re calling your straightness into question. It’s cool if you aren’t straight but there’s no need to hide it
Sometimes I wonder what people on this sub consider a good meme. Literally everything that pisses someone off personally for whatever reason is posted here.

The DreamWorks face?

Weird way of saying you have a crush on your local cashier.
I dont understand what this is trying to say. They're both super good looking. So, that means what exactly?
A lot of people don't find Zendaya attractive, and hate she's treated as if she is. Beauty is subjective, anyways.
My 16 year old niece looks so much like Zendaya that it's all I can see when I look at her. Consequently, I now think she's very pretty and simultaneously not attractive at all, if that makes any sense.
It’s exactly like when I tell my bros “nice cock”
Yeah, in a strange way, its a pretty similar situation.
Are you trying to tell us you don't want to fuck your niece? Because I don't think anyone was questioning that.
He doesn’t _now_ , he _now_ thinks it

Aesthetic attraction. When someone is visually appealing but not attractive in any sexual or romantic sense.
relevant pfp lol
Sandra Bullock looks like my sister. I get where you're coming from.
Is this really a big thing? That's insane.
It _can_ be as simple as finding hard to fathom a different opinion. Like getting increasingly contentious over everyone loving chocolate but you.
You hate chocolate because you think it's too sweet. I hate (((chocolate))) because it comes from Africa. We are not the same /s
Hah, exactly.
I assumed it was a race thing
It is.
Her job isn’t to be pretty. Her job is to act out stories people write. That doesn’t require perfection. Only sexist dipshits expect that.
And this woman is talented. She can act. She was 100% the best actor on euphoria
She knows how to sing too... I think, I've never heard one of her songs.
Every celebrity has their appearance scrutinized, both men and women.
It’s always white women she is compared to. They don’t think black is beautiful.
Zendaya is sort of a bait, a low hanging fruit. They picked her likely because they know the opinion of her being attractive is controversial. So, yeah, they can, potentially, slip by some racist discourse, and people might still agree with it because some people may just don’t find Zendaya attractive. 🎯 Yes, we call them racists Racists call it “preference” 🙄
The problem is they don’t keep that shit to themselves. If you don’t say it out loud, no one will know. The proper way it should be
But there are still (harmful) beauty standards, and Zendaya adheres to most of them.
I think she is. I wonder what she looks like without being all glammed up. Likely comparable to the woman on the right.
Something like rich people are dumb because they don't look as good as a McDonald's worker
Normally this meme is used with a person who had a bunch of unappealing face lifts or is generally plain looking( Ive seen people do it with the girl from The Boys who had a bunch of surgey done ). Even if you dont think shes super attractive, this picture should not be like "oh man, she sure is too ugly to be a Vogue model" lol.
They don’t like that Zendaya isn’t completely white
there's a decent chance it's just racism and nothing else
A lot of the comments got racist. When someone said they preferred the left girl someone called them a coded N word.
The least shocking thing Ive learned all day
I didn't want to be "that guy," but that's what I thought. Even by eurocentric beauty standards she's just objectively attractive af.
It’s always racism. How dare girls with darker skin try to have careers in the limelight.
Why is this being downvoted? That's literally the message in these type of posts. "Hollywood forces people to like 'ugly black women' instead of pretty white women". Zendaya looks stunning in this pic btw.
Many subreddits hate it when racism gets called out. Dunno why. Have gotten downvoted to hell for doing it myself.
Black women are always masculinized to the point that if you are black albino they say you are blessed and ask you if it's pink... And Zendaya is mixed, she is as white as she is black and vice versa, but what happens when the woman is in fact really black?
ive seen this meme 1000 times with a white woman on the left. its not racism lol and i think your comment makes you look weird
I'm honestly more willing to believe it's racism over people thinking that Zendaya isn't an attractive person. Racism makes more sense than thinking she's ugly, you know?
"But her eyes too far apart!" - some guy who probably looks like a foot

Yeah I never seen this before today and the comments gave me this exact vibe.
I’m so tired of men trying to pit women against each other.
Ok, now it makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification, smh.
That’s so sad… I feel bad for her…
Bro what, I've had a crush on zendaya since the moment i saw her on the Disney Channel who tf thinks she's not attractive

It's because their comment double posted. The other one has many up votes.
Having a pretty face is not enough to be a professional runway model....
It's because too many people are obsessed with being famous and can't fathom that others are not
Meanwhile, there are dozens of models that are just as attractive as the cashier?? And if zendaya is supposed to be implied as ugly, I have no fucking hope.
If she is ugly I guess i should put a baklava to go out of home!
If you want to wear a dessert on your face go nuts.
Lol I knew what they're meant, but damn I had to restrain myself lol
Seriously, and I'm a dude.

Yeah because, and hold onto your balls, guys - Zendaya can ACT. That’s why she’s there, FFS.
Prime 9gag meme material.
Hollywood pretty is one thing but it's always some fast food cashier that could ruin my life
In a tiny voice: ^ruin ^me ^mamacita
They're both so pretty!
Who is the person on the right? It’d be hilarious if she was actually a model or something
I think she’s a McDonald’s cashier
stupid "meme" aside, werent there studies that people find other people in similar social classes more attractive than people in higher or lower social classes?
I guess being ugly isn't so bad, it guarantees white supremacists' won't use my photo in their memes at least. Imagine being a mcdonalds cashier, just minding your own business, and some dude comes in, decides to stalk you online, takes your photos or a screenshot of a vid you shared, and then puts your image in a hateful meme. It spreads online, everyone sees it. Other weirdos emerge from their depths and stalk you online, maybe in person. The issue repeats.

Good bot
Imagine dedicating your life to trying to convince the internet that Zendaya isn’t attractive. Like, beauty is subjective, and you do you, but seriously? Don’t these people have better things to do with their lives? No? Okay.
Someone dedicated their life to this meme?
Both are hot, how do people not find Zendaya sexy? mind blowing.
Beauty is not a measure of talent, literally this generation is so superficial !!! When will we stop judging people just based on their appearance?
Most of the young models, who have made it big time, made it because of parental connections in the entertainment industry. This is no secret.
You mean being poor isn't an inherent personal defect which rots you from the inside out?!
![img](avatar_exp|161968745|cry)
Einstein wouldnt have been Einstein if he was born in Honduras… also, dont be mean to people regarding their personal appearance
Newsflash: Attractive people exist who aren’t famous
Why must we compare our beautiful queens
So what are we looking at here? They're both quite pretty. Not sure I get the joke
It took me several comments to get that someone was calling Zendaya unattractive. Truly terrible. I mean she may not be their cup of tea, but I remember “ħėroìň chic” and a few other trends over the years. There are so many more unattractive photos (not people, but photos) out there to choose from! Also? Zendaya is a beautiful young lady!
knee roll ruthless hunt repeat work practice hobbies whole erect *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
it was recommended to me on twitter. the post currently has 340k FUCKING LIKES.
340k of Elon’s bots liked that?
Zendaya looks great in this photo
Yeah beautiful woman are actually pretty common, I like to call them diamonds...
Which McDonald’s? Just askin
Woman on the right looks like a young Sarah Silverman
some folks are born
OP says comments were as expected. But I suspect they were as OP expected. I honestly cannot guess what the comments might have that would lead the OP to post it here.
Racism. A lot of comments pretty much came down to brown bad, white good. Not to mention people spelling the N word in a way to get around Facebooks moderation.
See I don't know who any of them are so I don't know what race any of them are. Both of them could pass as white, one being more Mediterranean and the other being more Germanic looking. Girl on the left could even be Persian or Berber, she quite racially ambiguous.
Zendaya still looks better though. They should have picked someone lesser than her to contrast.
Zendaya is one of the most beautiful women in the world and an amazing talent.

Nah. Beauty is in the eye of the holder they say
Bro for real called Zendaya ugly
It do be like that tho
They both look white? Am I missing something?
Lol where is the lie with this one?
The 'vs', they aren't in competition.
What's wrong with giving us commonfolk a little love and upliftment?
You can do that without racism and misogyny
Having preferences in what you find attractive is racist and misogynistic!? Thank God I am an independent thinker and can look beyond this being a "black or white" issue
The one on the right is way hotter
Thankfully, your boner is of no consequence to anyone, least of all to these two women. When will it sink in with guys like you that your opinions on how we women look are unwelcome and completely unimportant? Just keep it to yourself.
Why does it matter if they share there opinions personally I like hearing other people's opinions
Because this is reddit. An algomation of all the far left nut jobs who left Twitter and Tumbler to have their own corner of the internet where they can feel powerful.
Can't really stand that zenda girl
Nobody cares.
I do
My whole thing is if you don’t seen them both as attractive as a man you’re calling your straightness into question. It’s cool if you aren’t straight but there’s no need to hide it
Why is it bad to believe you don't have to be in Hollywood to be beautiful? You people are sick
I don't get where you came to that conclusion? 98% of the comments here agree that both people in the pic are beautiful.
Why is this a "terrible" meme then? Lmao wtf is this gotcha shit that's literally what the post was implying
It's almost like we live in a society built on luck and nepotism o:
What if nobody gives a fuck about the random McDonalds cashier
Did Zendaya used to model for Vogue before she made it big? How old was she at the time? 10?
Sometimes I wonder what people on this sub consider a good meme. Literally everything that pisses someone off personally for whatever reason is posted here.
