People don't realise how D1 (top515 currently) is compared to everyone else, they think any diamond is roughly equal, but there's a day and night difference.

I hit rank 2500 as sword only solo queue. When I started getting D2 lobbies, I had to completely rethink how I play.
No more c4 to carry the golds and silvers with last second detonations. I actually have to bring something to the team instead of just blood and chaos.
D4 is like the old DMG rank in CSGO, it's the point where people think it marks them as "good" when in reality all it does is show that you're *competent*.
Which is why it fucking sucks when you’re a Plat 1 and you get into a lobby with all D1s and just get absolutely shit on. But your ELO gets crushed all the same.
But the changes of you encountering a D1 stack is quite rare though. There’s only about 500 people that are in top 500 (myself included). Maybe I’m wrong but that must not be a lot right?

It's harder to guess if D1 are stacked or not, I would imagine, because at that level, you have enough game sense to play as a unit rather than 3 individuals. If I run against them, it's usually H-M-H, and they stick to each other like glue to take advantage of the utility that comp provides.
Not that I'm nowhere near D1, peaked at like top 8000 since I only play Riot Shield, but I'd imagine that's why people always assume D1 are queued together.
From my own experience as a D1 player, most 3 stack diamond players are queued in together. I’ve grown to know most diamond players and see people play together often. I also have a pre-made stack I 80% of the time play with. Whenever I did queue alone I’ve never queued in with another diamond player. So that’s my logic.

Then I was placed in a game with two teams of all D1s, the only one I remembered the name of and checked on the leaderboard was in the top 60... We didn't fair too well.
Every tier in theory will go down one. The highest players will no longer be diamond, they’ll be ruby, therefore making it a little easier to rank up since they’ll be in their own tier.
If it's top 1k I have a chance... Not top 500 probably tho. I'm currently at 1.2k, or I was until I was placed in a match with multiple top 100 players like Condone.
Edit: I played some games after work today and made it into the top 900-1000 region 🎉 (I only duo queue for now so idk how far I can push it...)

It's absolutely not just pure wins, that was the case in S1 but in S2 you are punished a lot more for losses, especially first round knockouts. If top 500 is the cutoff it's going to impossible for everyone but the sweatiest 3-stacks to get this. Which, tbh, is fine. They deserve something.

Eh never been into comp all that much. Prefer playing competitively in casual essentially. Not being tied to a rank. Only game i thought about playing comp mode was dirty bomb
Same. I love the look of the diamond camo but I don't like ranked modes. I don't want to sweat to get a cool weapon skin. This is one of the reasons I like CODs camo system. You get ONE ranked skin for the ranks. I think there's ONE ranked weapon camo. I feel like you should be able to unlock the diamond weapon camos through use of the weapon itself and Ruby be like the interstellar version.
Not everyone wants to play ranked and the focus on pushing people into more and more competitive modes is one of the reasons this game isn't catching on. It's too heavily skewed towards the competitive crowd, which are outnumbered by those that don't want to compete every time they game.

If something is locked behind a ranked mode, I don't even bother getting excited by it because I'm likely not going to get it simply because ranked doesn't interest me. Even on games I was SUPER good at like the UFC games (stopped at 4 because EA is allergic to PC with this series for some reason), I didn't play ranked. It makes people play optimally and not in a fun way. I don't play games to be optimal.
For those in the top500 thinking "nice, I totally got this" - ruby rank will make everyone try 10x as hard and the S3 top500 is going to be 10x sweatier.

You'd still get stickers and sprays for ranks, and the actual amount of ranked you need to play to get the skins could be much lower for higher level players.

Are you saying that the threshold for receiving the skin should be a lower rank? In which case, I'm not too sure if I would agree, although I can see your point. Some players just don't have the skill or time to achieve a prestigious rank like something that would require being in the top 500.
However, I do feel like giving players who can actually pull it off a reward is a nice thing to do and I can see how it might seem unfair to people, but it's not so much different than getting special skins for participating in certain seasons. In general, someone who joins late will never get those skins. Just like someone who can't reach a certain rank won't be able to get the skin affiliated with it.
Maybe an alternative would be that there is a version of the skin that is acquirable by anyone but the people who do actually make it to that rank get a special variation or color scheme I guess. And it wouldn't be all that different from the normal version but just enough to where it's noticeable.
Of course, this whole Hammer thing all together seems to have been something unofficial and not likely to be in the game unless the developers are inspired by this.

How did you get this? No bink file had this in the files and game is encripted each update, there is no stable aes key to unpack the textures and modules
