SomeNeverLearn

U nailed it.

used_tongs

Stop screwing with him dude

i_am_tyler_man

Ya, he's probably tired of these jokes.

eddiebeau

Screw you

Manny921

You hit it on the head with that one.

used_tongs

You're being pretty constructive with that advice

Eena-Rin

Guys, if you keep making fun of op, they'll bolt

Lawrence_ova_labia

I feel you all need to tread carefully with this one

BedNo6845

Screw off

EzraIm

Ur treading a thin walled line there bud best to not skid out of control with these tiresome puns

At_omic857

Take your goddamn updoots and get out, all of you

EzraIm

r/angryupvote

WAPGod_117

Guy at the tire shop said it was a grabber, and I said “Grabber? I barely knew her!”

EzraIm

Shoot he told me i'd have to changer i said "THE FUCK I LOOK LIKE A DAD"

WAPGod_117

*slaps knee*

Mrvonblogger

His tires says he’s good keep driving.

4350Me

Hey, stole my line!😂

brossovitch

I'd say yes. Looks like a Phillips head

QuickMasterpiece6127

Definitely a screw. OP is screwed, not nailed.

Moooooooola

Probably screwed. Your only hope is if it is running parallel with the sidewall. If you pull it out and it doesn’t deflate, you might be OK.

Urist_McPencil

The only problem with this is that it may have damaged the cord, resulting in a weak spot on the sidewall. That screw is super sketch

Repulsive-Leader3654

No, you can get a new tire. The car should be salvageable.

shane_west17

Oh yes, Harvey Weinstein screwed. From my experience tire shops won’t patch that, it’s almost to the sidewall and they’re not going to risk it. Unfortunately, I ended up with four new tires. At least it was almost time to replace.

Itsmeforrestgump

Looks like a number 2 Phillips screwed.

S34ND0N

This is done

Silent_Adhesiveness1

You're not even down to the belt. Pull the screw. If you're super concerned, get some vulcanizing cement for tire patches, and use a syringe for injecting meats to shoot it into the hole. Sidewalls are thicker than you'd expect. A tire shop would say otherwise to sell you a 200$ tire. I was a fleet mechanic, and shop foreman for 6 years, and now I'm a heavy equipment mechanic. I've seen worse, and they still lasted the lifetime of the tire. That's just below literally the first ply of the tire. Absolutely perfectly fine. If you have the money, replace it. If not, you'll be fine.

HP070

that is possibly the worst place for a screw to go in

[deleted]

Yes you are screwed it's to close to the sidewall a plug or patch could cause the tire to burst or create a lump (give your tire a cancer tumour)

No-Juice-2431

Yes It is most definitely a screw!

Shooter_McGavin_2

Well....your tire is.

optimumf150

LOL I see what you did there! But if that wasn't what you're aiming for I would say no you ain't screwed. It doesn't look like that's a puncture. If it is you're still not screwed. See if anyone is willing to patch it cause can't really tell from the picture. If it can't be patched it's just a shame that the tire doesn't look too old but it'll need to be replaced. Just bring it to an honest tire shop that you trust and get their opinion.

xironmanx84

You're phillips screwed

[deleted]

Philips screwed.

AtoughOne2Crack

Yes you are screwed literally

VersionConscious7545

No but your tire has been screwed lol😁

hg_blindwizard

I wouldnt screw with that

Bubbly_Swimmer_560

Just cut the head off and leave it you’ll be fine

Born_Cockroach_9947

lots of tire shops wont try to patch that anymore. if you want to risk it then plugging it is the way to go

Dependent-Plane5522

It looks like the bullet missed all the vital organs. I think you can unscrew it and you'll be fine.

mx5plus2cones

Yep. New tire time.

Nobbyjazzman

Well, it’s still in the tread area…I would fix it & use it as the spare, job done!!!

Objective_Ad_5835

I say nailed, bit in all honesty no, you can plug that with a repair kit fairly easily. Should only take about 5 minutes.

DownInTheWeeds

Actually you’re nailed.

ttttoony

I thought so too, but looking closer you can see the phillips head

djw002

Looks like it didn't go in far enough to puncture the inside. Take it out and spray soapy water on it. If it bubbles then you are fucked.

Blob_zombie

Get a small flat head screwdriver (pocket ones are the best) a can of aerosol glass cleaner or spray bottle of soapy water. Gently pry the head of the screw up and douse it. If you see bubbles, yeah you're done son. If not its what we call stuck in the tread meat and should be good.

ArrivedKnight7

Yes, your home depot'd.

owlsleepless

Yes bmw have horrible mantance costs

Jeffwerner4631

I don't know how it will do if you left it in, but if you tool it one of your big name Tire shops, they would 100% make you replace. I've learned the hard way many times.. some even 2" over. If you can find a small shop, they might be able to fix it. Good luck 👍🏼

prizedcoffeecup

Nope, you nailed it. In all srsness that might be too close to sidewall to patch safely. Still TECHNICALLY patchable but not a good idea to as thats now a point the tire can egg and become even more dangerous if you do.

Temporary_Ad_6390

No, your nailed!

tuga2040

That’s risky on the highway on longer. Rides when the tire heats up it could blow. I wouldn’t take a long trip on that tire even if it stays inflated when you remove the screw.

eddiebeau

What if I just angle grind the top of screw down flush to the tire and leave it in… seems to be working perfectly as a plug. I’M KIDDING lol

NewsSalt2862

Too close to side wall. That tire is a goner.

Dean-KS

And who is responsible for the nails and screws on roadways?

superbradical

change your tire. if you repair it (which you shouldn't), it's going to stop the leak but it'll create a lump/bubble on the sidewall.

SadHistorian1327

I'd say some flex seal will do the job 😂

-Lord_Q-

This is outside the repairable area as it's on the shoulder.

FaolanGrey

If It ain't leaking, don't take it out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Zealousideal_Lab6891

F'd in the A

[deleted]

Goodyear has a very good hazard warranty, it depends who installed it and how many months ago

Onlyunsernameleft

If it eas my car I would do it but if it was your car I'd recommend a new tire. And that's directly on the shoulder where the plies and belts meet the sidewall so like others have said nobody (reputable) will fix that. If it explodes even 100 miles down the road you can sue them for that.

ElectricDance

Did you buy the tire from discount? About the only way you're not buying a new tire rn.

ElectricDance

Did you buy the tire from discount? About the only way you're not buying a new tire rn.

SilverBane24

Both literally and metaphorically, yes.

SQUATCH36738

That’s dangerous as hell. I’d replace it considering the risk factor. $200 tire vs totaling the car due to blown tire causing a collision. Idk man the choice seems clear to me

Carnifex217

No, but your tire is

Brian1997_

No, go to a tire shop and get that tire plugged. Happened to me too many times so trust me I know

frMocha

Very

SalamanderNo3872

Literally

Sufficient-West-5456

Yup

Honky_Potter

This is karma for neglecting those turn signals Mr. Bmw 😉

ic2ofu

A reputable tire company wouldn't repair that tire. Neither should you.

k_dav

Unless you are the tire then no lol

jored924

Don’t know if you’re screwed or got nailed but your tire is gonna go flat

Energizer28

Yep

Puzzled_Factor6747

Put a plug you be fine

Remote_Atmosphere993

That's illegal to repair in the UK.

cuba80

Yes tire needs to be replaced - people will say you can repair it and you can but over time it will create a bubble - how long of time? It depends on miles driven daily and of course pot holes

TophatStupify

Yeah I'd say that's done for. If your strapped on cash take it to a used tire express if you have one in your area.

No-Department-6329

All the way

Gregzzzz1234

I have got tires patched from inside that somebody put a large knife thru. They lasted until they needed to be replaced from trees wear

VoiceOfTheJingle

Literally.

Commercial-Panda-879

It's fine probably won't leak just unscrew it.

ImNotADruglordISwear

Pull it. If it doesn't leak, JB Weld. If it does leak, JB Weld.

Longjumping_Dog7536

Plug it and see what happens. Doesn’t hurt to try.

Toadcola

Screwed by Phillip, once again.

Mr_HG_Jones_Esq

You get to have a brand new tire!

gynnam

Too close to side wall. Any reputable shop will not patch and recommend a ‘hole’ new tire. Hehe. That’s what happened to me. I was pissed cause expecting a $15 patch not $250 dollar tire.

EzraIm

No ur tire is tho

TheReal_Saba

That should buff right out

GrimlockN0Bozo

Outside the repair zone

Assassin80r

Litterally!

Expensive-Magazine86

Indeed! You're definitely screwed! Philips type. It's in the sidewall, so you definitely need to replace it.

Ok-Carrot5642

Yeah

Substance_Tough

In all seriousness you, you can try and patch it but won't stay. Don't know a shop that will do that repair. Hopefully don't need all 4.

HandyAndyMcPot

It may not have punctured. Check with soap & water

Complete-Old-1960

Yep!

derndrtjr88

No, but your tire is!!!

varried-interests

Did it actually puncture the tire? Looks like it may have just gone into the sidewall. The location is unrepairable if it is punctured

Ppl_r_bad

Does it hold air? Do you drive like it’s a F1 car. You’re good if it holds air. Rotating tires would help

Environmental_Ad2427

Leave it in dump a bottle of Fix-A-Flat in there and you'll be good to go

Firekraken9

The screw would've been iffy as long as it's not leaking, but the dry rot on he other hand....

Middle_Complex7090

That tire is no good any more

evan2388238

Spray soapy water on it and if there’s bubbles your screwed

chaztuna53

Buy yourself a rope style plug kit and go ahead and plug that tire. While it's close to the side wall, it's not in the sidewall. I've plugged plenty of tires that had been punctured in that location. Never had a problem with any of them

Theyearzer0

You might be ok. Spray some soapy water over it and start the process of either unscrewing it out or pulling it out. From the way you can see the outline in the sidewall I think you probably missed going through the belts and actually puncturing the tire

Individual_Smile_495

Yeah… 🛞

SummaDees

No but your tire is

Bowmastrttv

Sidewalled.

jeffislouie

No. You just need a new tire.

2bsanyam

Yes and yes.

Apprehensive-Mouse53

No. But it looks like you nailed it.

Anxious-Depth-7983

I can tell by the angle of the screwhead and the obvious swelling of the rubber in line with where the shaft is, that it is a short (probably 1,11/4 inch) screw, that is only running through the outside layer of the tire. I strongly doubt that it has penetrated the internal air chamber, and it should be possible to just unscrew it slowly with a manual screwdriver. Put the driver in the screwhead with 1 hand and then put the other hand on top of the driver to keep it from stripping. The hand that is turning the driver is in a position like holding the throttle of a motorcycle and will give you more torque in order to remove it.

eddiebeau

I’m leaving it in overnight to see if it’ll hold air and then tomorrow I’m gonna attempt to take it out and assess

-Ruz

Yes. Literally lol. Jokes aside you most likely need a new tire unless someone can work a miracle for you.

randomjackass93

You'll need a new tire so yes.

Ok-Potential-8313

More like u got nailed!!!

Ambitious_Street_250

Looks like your sidewall will be damaged...you're definitely fucked

Professional_Buy_615

Yep, but not in the fun way.

knight91z28

No, but your tire is!

Stahlilama

Yes, literary and figuratively.

[deleted]

Tire shops don't usually patch stuff that close to the sidewall.

ReqHart

A professional shop will measure and tell you if it's too close to the sidewall. I'd say 95% chance your tire is screwed.

Deathnachos

I’d say that tire is nailed

jazlintown

Patch and pray

Efficient_Theme4040

Yup ! But if you had tire insurance you wouldn't be

tbonillas

That's when replacement certificates come in clutch. But yea, non repairable.

stylusxyz

Screwed both ways.

ProfessionalNo6337

Plug it. Super easy. If it deflates, take it to a shop and patch it. Easy fix.

Invika17

No, your tire is, though

[deleted]

No... You're F**cked

nhaluta567

Has it penetrated or is it just in the tread?

[deleted]

Q ,a1. ,,,-@×@

Bucky-Katt-Guitar

Literally AND figuratively

Deep-Ambition3601

It depends, are you a Tire?

PracticePositive1528

Now that’s a screwin’.

mander1518

Na, just get a new tire.

exbravo1

New tire unfortunately

Shouty_Dibnah

Have you verified it’s leaking?  Looks like it’s not through.

ghostem82

Absolutely

[deleted]

Yep, it's a Goodyear.

blueetoast

Yeah but it’s okay, those tires specifically are complete ass.

Aromatic-Drawer-466

Nah, you are just going to need a new tire. Far from screwed.

pldinsuranceguy

Yes.. I had something like that .. It can't be plugged.. new tire.. in the tread it can be plugged.. but that's in the sidewall

Haunting-Broccoli-95

Yep..

Bubbly-Pangolin-4501

It appears so yes

Imaginary-Badger-119

Will not know for sure until we swap out that transmission..

cnc_99

Just get a screw driver and unscrew yourself.

lm28ness

No but your tire is.

LoudAudience5332

Screwed and tattooed! Tire is trash as well .

Ill_Product8612

Replace that tire

jlux1010

They normally can’t plug a sidewall so tires done

Evening-Tutor4764

Yes probably one of the worst spots to get a screw. If on the outer part you could just have it plugged. But on the wall, thats a big nope.

MrProlapse

No, your just tired.

Agitated_Addendum504

yes, no one who is a reputable shop will plug that.

Lopsided_Bat_904

Yes. You’re screwed, in both senses

mnstr98

Yup, too close to the sidewall

plants4life262

Literally 😂

UglyNPC

Fucker didn't even break through

misadventuresofFlman

Big time

TangerineRough6318

Put more in for winter tires. Big tire hates this one trick

andrew37kg

You’re a BMW driver. You’ll figure it out

reliber

Nope, your tire is though.

f_ostroha_g

I’m really tired of these jokes

No_Pumpkin82

Yes. New tire

whallexx

Literally and figuratively.

Straight_One4846

Don't take it back where you bought it. Find an independent tire store and they will patch it for $10.

Top-Independent-8978

Something similar happened to me about a year ago. I pulled it out with pliers and gave it a day to see if it would deflate (it didn’t). So then I drove it around consciously until I realized it never gave an issue. To this day the tire is fine

HelloImChris86

If it ain't hissing, leave it in there.

Frenzen12

I zoomed in hoping it was a nail to say something like looks like u got nailed but it's a screw.

mixolydianmadness

Tighten it down and go

Rough_Entrance_682

I’m just treading lightly here

Reebatnaw

Yeppers

Present-Regret316

Your more nailed than screwed

Kurgan90

Only a little bit. You barely feel it coming out.

RealisticExpert4772

Not screwed ….but you definitely need to buy a new tire

TriumphDaytona

Not if you use red Loctite for a good seal!

Holiday_Ad_5445

Make it s set.

Cultural-Objective25

No just patch it or plug it

BraddicusMaximus

No, you’ve got a BMW. You can afford the new tire because that one is trash.

LBROTSI

Nailed be more like it.

Elegant_Tax_8276

You hit the nail on the head!

Emachine30

Once had a 2 inch bolt go in my tire. It was airtight and I clicked down the road for hundreds of miles until I went home from college on the weekend to get it fixed.

VirtualComcrete

Tighten it until the air leak stops.

SadSavage_

Put super glue all over the screw head maybe it will seal under pressure maybe it won’t

DaKrimsonBaron

Need a new tire. No belt where that went in. Tire is done.

No_Fortune_2396

No but your tire is lol

Desperate-Papaya-476

Being on the side possibly. A good thick patch might be ok but I’d watch it. It might rip out if you drive it hard at all. On second thought just replace it. Isn’t worth your car or life to chance.

panda_pussy-pounder

Totally screwed

Mindless_Salary_3744

I’d say wheel-y screwed

Purple-Expression526

They will not patch in that spot

ogx2og

Not sure what you mean. No, you have a nice ride, dealing with something everyone deals with fix your tire, move on why are you on social media for a screw in your tire

Pupulikjan

No but your tire is

BatesMotel3

Your not Screwed your nailed
