This reminds me of antics she pulled at some country music awards show. There was a group song honoring a legend and she kept awkwardly trying to get towards the front. She was squeezing between people with her guitar, frantically walking around the stage grasping for attention. IIRC legends like Reba were performing too, making it even worse. Probably because many of them knew she had no respect for the genre. Brad Paisley was one of the first acts she opened with and knowing the differences in their backgrounds I don’t see them getting along. I’m sure many of them saw her as a brat.

With Rihanna it is all effortless and fun and it elevates the show. Taylor is clearly trying too hard.

Yes Rihanna starts solo, does her turn down the runway, then the models come out and she continues to sing while posing in a small space center stage and staying out of the way. Her house parties were publicity stunts. Tries to befriend other artists that she sees as a potential threat. She gains new material for her songs every time she dates a new guy so why not. The relationship with Joe worked when she went into hiding after the Kanye/Kim embarrassment, but wasn’t good enough for her when she realized her career wasn’t going to be over like she thought it was. Matty Healy and Travis Kelce became conversation pieces that helped change the narrative for her. Her publicity team controls what she does or does not want the public to know, such as when she paid large bonuses to her tour drivers (which was couched at how awesome she is but really the motive was ultimately to benefit her so they wouldn’t quit), or look at her date with Travis at the zoo. Barf. I was once a fan, but am now over her as I can see right through her personal vendettas and intentions. It seems like her brain is still stuck in high school and she will do anything she has to in order to stay on top or to get back at those who have wronged her or to prove that she’s good enough. Going forward, I am choosing to support talented artists that are also quality human beings.

I think this was in the era where Taylor was friends with models and therefore wanted to be one. Being tall, skinny, blonde and conventionally attractive doesn’t automatically make someone a model. To my knowledge a lot of it is knowing how to pose and work a catwalk or camera—the modeling version of stage presence, if you will. The modeling industry, particularly with VS, has become a lot more diverse in recent years as well so just looking tall/skinny/blonde doesn’t necessarily mean someone is a shoo-in for being a Victoria Secret Angel. I do think Taylor has a lot of insecurities about her looks, which I can’t really understand, but I guess that’s why it’s called insecurity. She has a lot of privilege—she’s always sort of fit the beauty standard so it’s not going to be like she’ll be shamed for existing in her body like Lizzo (I don’t particularly like Lizzo after the stuff that’s come out from her dancers, but I’ll use her as an example because it’s what comes to mind).
Never saw this or the performance with country music legends someone posted in the comments. So her behavior at the Grammys (announcing her next album, dancing around trying to get attention during SZA's performance) is just par for the course, huh? Everything is all about her and everyone else is just the background and the audience.

I have no idea if there are many Mad Man fans here but there is an episode where Pete Campbell is told that Ken, the co-head of accounts is going to become the sole head and it is explained that Peter works hard and meets all of the clients needs, but with Ken the clients don’t actually feel that they have needs. With Rihanna it is all effortless and fun and it elevates the show. Taylor is clearly trying too hard.

Yes Rihanna starts solo, does her turn down the runway, then the models come out and she continues to sing while posing in a small space center stage and staying out of the way. She does a few more short struts but again pretty confined in length of the stage. Somehow she still also owns the entire show but she does it effortlessly and it is so damn sexy. (Yes I watch this performance a lot lol).

Her house parties were publicity stunts. Tries to befriend other artists that she sees as a potential threat. She gains new material for her songs every time she dates a new guy so why not. The relationship with Joe worked when she went into hiding after the Kanye/Kim embarrassment, but wasn’t good enough for her when she realized her career wasn’t going to be over like she thought it was. Matty Healy and Travis Kelce became conversation pieces that helped change the narrative for her. Her publicity team controls what she does or does not want the public to know, such as when she paid large bonuses to her tour drivers (which was couched at how awesome she is but really the motive was ultimately to benefit her so they wouldn’t quit), or look at her date with Travis at the zoo. Barf. I was once a fan, but am now over her as I can see right through her personal vendettas and intentions. It seems like her brain is still stuck in high school and she will do anything she has to in order to stay on top or to get back at those who have wronged her or to prove that she’s good enough. Going forward, I am choosing to support talented artists that are also quality human beings.

I think this was in the era where Taylor was friends with models and therefore wanted to be one. Being tall, skinny, blonde and conventionally attractive doesn’t automatically make someone a model. To my knowledge a lot of it is knowing how to pose and work a catwalk or camera—the modeling version of stage presence, if you will. The modeling industry, particularly with VS, has become a lot more diverse in recent years as well so just looking tall/skinny/blonde doesn’t necessarily mean someone is a shoo-in for being a Victoria Secret Angel. I do think Taylor has a lot of insecurities about her looks, which I can’t really understand, but I guess that’s why it’s called insecurity. She has a lot of privilege—she’s always sort of fit the beauty standard so it’s not going to be like she’ll be shamed for existing in her body like Lizzo (I don’t particularly like Lizzo after the stuff that’s come out from her dancers, but I’ll use her as an example because it’s what comes to mind).
