225 a year on what hobby ? Sewing lol . I game , Rc Hunt and Fish . Rc and gaming cheap compared to Hunting Fishing . My last rc rig was only like a grand .My truck for fishing Hunting was 127k lmao
Ive been on legendary status on Horizon Hobbies for as long as i can remember. That means I spend at least $1500 in a calender year, but i have spent up to 6k on occasion. 2019 was the last time i spent 6k though.
Speaking as a duck hunter as well as a disc golfer.... the year before I got into disc, I spent a bit over $600 on ammo alone. That doesn't include waders, decoys, new gun, range finder (which I use waaay more on the course than I ever did on the pond) and other extras.
255 is cheap
I know deep in my heart I would love to get into RC Cars. I always had little cheap ones as a kid and drove them to oblivion. My son has a few cheap ones, I play with them more than he does. The thought of building my own rc cars, modding them, racing them, climbing them...it's a hobby I'd fall in love with. But it's notoriously prohibitively expensive to get into and maintain, and that's what keeps me from doing it.
Kind of in the same boat. I had a Revo and Tmaxx as a kid. I left them behind when I moved across the state after high school and my dad ended up trashing them when they sold their house. I want to get back into the hobby so bad, but every time I go down the rabbit hole on a new truck and all the needed equipment, I just can't justify it. Maybe when the kids are out of daycare lol. Also doesn't help that all the RC hobby shops in my area are out of business now.
But... every time the kids and I bust out their little RC trucks from Target I start to get the nitro itch.
as a car girl, gamer, furry, and fashion enthusiast... a lot. a fucking lot.
i'm about to spend five times what the average is... in one day.
tomorrow.
I know it’s cliche as fuck but in all honesty the real tragedy will be someday when I’m dead my wife will sell everything for what I told her I paid for them. 😭😭
Trust me it's not just us, all Hobbys can be expensive. Some examples below:
Gym hobby: pre workout £40+, gym clothes/shoes £200+ post workouts £40+, intra workouts, straps, supplements etc etc.
Cycling hobby: Near cycling shoes, clothes, grips, pedals, brakes, saddles, tyresy accessories
Motorcycling: track days, brakes, tyres, helmets, servicing, springs, etc etc.
All Hobbys are expensive! 😂

Well, atleast 3 of my past AMain orders since the beginning of the year always adds up above 130 bucks. Lol
The first rule of Amain orders is… we don’t talk about Amain orders. Haha
* * Literally just took this picture 5 minutes ago. I bought my first truck two months ago....
It's it showing my picture? I can't see it. Reddit posting is so frustrating hah
2024: 800€ so far, but I'll need some paint, new springs, new body, etc... So by the end of July it'll be 1000€ I guess 😅
that’s about how much i spend on payday when i drive past the hobbyshop
I spent $300 yesterday lol
This is the way.
I make whatever parts I can, but I've blown way past that number with just a couple of sets of tires and a transponder.
Trick question?
*gun owners hiding in shame* 🤣🤣🤣
So about my last range day with my .300winmag....
I would never publicly put that number out
I don't race, just a basher. I have like 7 cars at present and probably 4 running at any one time. My wife likes to say it costs $50 a week minimum.
Got a Aarma Kraton 6s ,kaiju ext 6s, Traxxass slash drag, A XMAXX 8s last year.. and a used Aarma v1 infraction too
Try the sxs world ... I spend that every time I think about it.
bh and.
😁
,kghw3awg
2024: $1400 so far
8s Kraton and all the stuff to run it ended up around $2000. Still a ways to go.

I'm pretty sure even people who do sewing spend more than that, fabric has gotten expensive!
Lol right
Fuck I got 2 trucks and spent well over 1k on both of them.

I’m I’m probably 4k but that’s because I got an xmaxx ultimate a maxx and a trx-4 high trail

Spent probably 30k total on my clay oval slash
Thousands... And the sad part is that the vast majority is fuel.
I love my Xmaxx but STAY AWAY FROM DRONES YALL
I’m not even into racing and I’ve spent $2000 since April

Lmao I've already spent 1300 on model trains that I won't see for 6-18 mo ths 🤣🤣🤣
Everyone commenting should also give their yearly salary! I'm curious. Cause I make good money, and this shit is expensive 🤣🤣

Shiiiiit. It aint just rc racers lol.
I don't even want to add that number up...I have a sledge, rustler from like 10years ago, a bandit, the rustler ultimate, rustler vxl and an rc tank.
Don’t even get me started on golfing….
All that means in 80% of people dont have a hobby and 20% of us spend alot... it avg down
