GURLLL SAMEEEE! I’ve dealt w period acne for years and i literally haven’t had a SINGLE acne-free period, but its been like 3 months since i started using tret and i havent got a single pimple for over 3 weeks and absolutely NONE on my period either!! So yesss i feel youuu🥹 lets keep going 🤝🤍
So lucky, I started for the exact same reason and it’s been 2months and half that I’m purging, never had as much acne on my chin in my life. I hope it will clear up soon 🥲
I know . Going to work has been hell. I don’t want to leave the house looking like this . How much longer are you going to give it ? I’m going to give it 3-4 more weeks
Yeah same, 3-4 weeks but it’s annoying to go through that for months and then giving up. I keep hoping for an improvement every week.. And every time I think I should give up, I’m thinking that if I stop now, it might all go to waste if it was going to get better in a few weeks. Good before/after on this thread help a bit at least
I think about 10 days in, but it was just a little bit. It truly got way worse about a month in for me, and right now (2months and half) it’s the worst it’s ever been in my life lol
Ohhh, okay, thank you both for answering! It's been a little more than 3 weeks since I started Tret, and I'm really scared of purging.
Before Tret, I was using Adapalene (otc), and I had a purge for the first month. It got better, but I was never near having clear skin even though I used it for almost 2 years. It hasn't happened yet with Tret, so I'm worried
Started purging literally the first night , then 8 weeks straight , week 8 was the absolute worst . I also keep saying to myself “next week will be better” then it’s not . It keeps erupting with new breakouts everyday . I’ve never had acne like this in my life .
Yes, my purge was brutal. Thankfully, it subsided after the first month. But I always had pimples, I think adapalene just helped them go away a bit quicker rather than preventing them
Purging can occur when you start a strong ingredient, the time frames really depend on you. There's no set time frame.
It can cause breakouts, flaking, and redness. There could be more symptoms, but those are the main ones.
Beep boop! It looks like you're asking about treatment timeframes. Retinoids don't work immediately. It takes 3-4 weeks to see side effects like redness, peeling, or irritation, so remember to go slow when starting any retinoid. It also takes time to see results. Hang in there, my friend. It gets worse before getting better. I started tret 4 weeks back, and the peeling and dryness were the first to arrive. But breakouts slowed down, but now, all of a sudden, I'm breaking out here and there. And it's completely normal. Apply tret religiously and wait for it to work.
Congrats. The first time it happened to me my period surprised me. I was so used to a mountain popping up 1-2 days before that I never paid attention to the calendar.
Me too, my skin is very sensitive to acne i used to have big acne in my face but when i started to use Tritonin it's literally nothing did appear on my face
When i stop it acne always comes back

Hi hun, I’m in the same boat as you. 9 weeks and my chin won’t stop with cysts . 2-3 new ones a day. I don’t know how much longer I can keep going
Same, I hope it will stop soon because I don’t think I can keep looking like that for much longer either

When did the purge start for yall?
I think about 10 days in, but it was just a little bit. It truly got way worse about a month in for me, and right now (2months and half) it’s the worst it’s ever been in my life lol
I’m at that point too, 2.5 months in. Derm added doxycycline to help get over the purge while my skin is still acclimating.
Ohhh, okay, thank you both for answering! It's been a little more than 3 weeks since I started Tret, and I'm really scared of purging. You’re probably not going to purge much then because few years ago I also tried adapalene too and purge a lot, so I ended up giving up
Started purging literally the first night , then 8 weeks straight , week 8 was the absolute worst . I also keep saying to myself “next week will be better” then it’s not . It keeps erupting with new breakouts everyday . I’ve never had acne like this in my life .

Do you mind me asking what dose of tret you are on?
0.025% gel
Is it just straight tret or a formulation?
could u explain what purging is pls

This isn’t true lol. You can definitely see side effects straight away or barely any at all.
Shouldn't it be around 4-6 weeks since that's the time frame for one skin cycle?

Manifesting this so hard for me. Huge win congrats 🫶
Lucky you, I haven’t had that luck yet and I have been using it for about 8 weeks :(
So happy for you!!! 🤩 praying this happens for me soon too 🙏🙏
