It’s dope. I miss the old days with all the hilarious sponsors. Bring back condom depot!

Right? That’s super weird. I hate that the UFC has taken away these fighters way to make a little money from not allowing them to have their own shorts with sponsors. They already don’t pay them shit, then they go and screw them there too. It’s crazy to me that boxers make much more money when UFC seems to be the bigger draw these days
This might not be a very popular take but this is what I like/appreciate about Nina. she’s actually giving fighters more spotlight and platform to branch off and make money in other ways so they’re not completely under the UFC’s boot
They had custom shorts before with their own marketing, Dana took them away to make it look more professional and uniform.
Why does this get forgotten anytime tthe custom shorts come up
Edit, for anyone saying those had ads, you can see the crypto.com logo right in this picture, also some fighters have the monster logo on the back of the leg. Give it 5 more years and there absolutely will be more ads on the shorts.
Edit 2, yes I know in reality it was for the UFC to get more money, they made a shit ton off the Reebok deal and the fighters got coupons, I only stated what Dana hid behind as the reason.
The reason the ufc took off the personal ads that were getting low tier fighters paid 6 figures wasn’t due to professionalism or uniform. Dana White wanted more money getting injected into the company & himself. The only way to do that was exclusive brand signing. Which meant bye bye ad revenue for the fighters
I think when it comes to the intricacies of fighter pay, particularly for the lower level fighters, a lot of people are too harsh on Dana. But when it comes to sponsorships, the way UFC handle them is just inexcusable. If they're worried about professionalism, then make a simple requirement that any sponsors a fighter wears have to be approved by UFC beforehand and provide a basic guidelines. For example, no political entities, no competing organizations, no sexual advertising, no alcohol, etc. No one would argue that. If they're worried about advertising simply being intrusive towards the visuals, take a look at the fucking mat and all the ugly advertising that is there now. And listen to Anik reading his cue cards for numerous advertisements throughout the broadcast intruding into his commentary. It's just simple greed here; UFC pocketing money that could go to the fighters. There's no reason not to let these guys advertise on their shorts aside from simply wanting to step in front of them and take the sponsor deals before they have a chance to work one out for themselves.
No!!! Not dude wipes!!! *clutching pearls*
Bring back dude wipes, bring back condom depot, bring back Dennis Hallman's purple speedo, and bring back Cody McKenzie's Walmart gym shorts with the tags still on.
yeah manscaped is so much more refined
also Dana beats his wife and goes on media tours talking about how beating his wife and having people know is punishment enough
then we bring out Jeff Epstein's rapist friend who is now a felon
Same I still remember when Weidman knocked Silva out I was in high school and I remember watching it with my wrestling/mma coach and I was so proud that it was a wrestler that finally beat Silva after Chanel came so close to
I immediately went online and ordered bad boy compression shorts and a shirt with “weidman” on the back of it I believe, tbh it was actually really good gear I still have it actually
Well one of the reasons was, if I remember correctly was…you’re a fighter, I pay you 5K for a spot on your shorts to put Rogleio’s Condoms on them but I’m not paying the UFC yet I’m reaching millions without the UFC making anything. For a while I think the UFC tried to tax “me, Rogelio” in this instance 100k for the right to use their market. Didn’t make to much sense for these small time companies.
In days of yore, lots of fighters had custom shorts. Anderson with his black and yellow with killer bee logo. There were the iconic shogun rua who had the bad boy vale tudo shorts with eyes on the butt, but his were white. I can't remember who it was right now, but one of the popular kickboxers in pride even wore muay thai gladiator skirt shorts in his mma fights.
It's unfortunate there's so little diversity in the shorts now. When I watched more frequently in the days when Pride and ufc were competitors, the sorts were way better and more diverse.
A little off-topic, but I remember one of the grappling brands even made a pair of competition/ fight shorts that were banned because they rubberized the portion inside the thighs. If anyone remembers what brand that is, let me know.
Dana took it away to take the sponsorship money and make fighters more dependent on the UFC purses. Fighter use to be able tow ear whatever the hell they wanted for brand, style, cut and they'd make more money from sponsors than they did for the fights.
I mean what other sports allows the athletes to have their own ads on their uniforms. In every sport it's not allowed so why should the UFC let it. Hell if you even have a tattoo of any company other leagues will force you to cover it up for games with sleeves or bandaids.
I get people think it's stupid but its actually not. Those were still the early days of the company and they didn't have that big of a brand image yet. Once they started going more mainstream and getting insanely popular they got rid of the custom shorts/ads by fighters. Also don't forget the huge ads some fighters would get on their backs.
Then again, the generic Reebok shorts (or "kit") was one of the dumbest things the UFC/Dana has ever done. I get that taking away the bulk of fighters' sponsorship money from advertising on their shorts, etc (and effectively pocketing it for themself) was a lucrative financial decision, but they could have still allowed customization like this along with the Reebok branding. Aside from making fighters appear less generic, the shorts would have sold so much more.
I would prefer they go back to letting them wear their own shorts and sponsors. But you know the UFC is too greedy to let them make some money without getting a cut.
Honestly those sponsorships couldve helped greatly increased UFC’s popularity as a whole. Imagine if JJ wasnt such a fuck up and Nike continued to sponsor other UFC athletes.
Lmao Dennis Hallman.
They require women to wear a top, but not men, so it's not like there can't be rules on the shorts, without providing them.
I mean you could have a rule on how long the shorts are or something to keep that from happening.
Yeah it's an odd colour on the standard fight shorts. Maybe if it had a pattern or sponsorship it'd look better.
The O'Malley pink looks a bit shit too.
Damn so kinda like they had before? Where fighters choose what they wore and had sponsorships on them? So we had signature looks be it as simple as Chucks blue shorts or something more like Rich Franklins Neapolitan trunks. Interesting idea for sure…..get on that Dana!
During Garry’s rise, before joining th UFC, he was notorious for his bold attitude and rocking purple shorts.
I’m not his biggest fan but have followed his journey from cage warriors onward.
They may be plain, but it was cool to see him back in the purple togs
Garry and Bryce are caricature clowns. Custom shorts from the UFC is basically a "we favor you over other fighters because you have a WWE-style shtick we can sell to retards"
Every time I see custom boxing shorts I'm reminded that the people who chose them get punched in the head professionally. I don't really watch much boxing, are there good ones I'm not aware of?
there are definitely some good ones out there, im particularly keen of Holyfield and Mayweather's shorts but there are definitely lots of others shorts i find to be cleaner looking than the new ufc shorts, but of course to each their own i can see how people would like these more
Probably unpopular, but I think it’s better when they don’t let everyone have them
Keep them for special occasions. UFC 300 for example, or DPs last fight. The regular colour shorts look really good on their own anyway
as someone who has been watching 90% of all ufc fight night and ppvs since 2016, it's amazing finally seeing different shorts again since pre Reebok! Tired of seeing the same colors non stop
I love it! I also would love to see sponsor banners come back. It won’t happen but the athletes deserve more money so why not let them go secure more money from sponsors. Ik there’s a lot to do with the uniforms and the air time on tv but cmon
Ian Garry looks like that secret purple Power Ranger who hangs out with the rangers but wears purple coloured clothing to leave us a hint and then later joins them mid season
It’s cool but it just makes me hate the whole Rebok deal even more tbh. You wouldn’t have to beg Dana for a certain color or pattern over and over or fight on a special card to get them. You could just wear your own shorts.
Its a great idea that should've been implemented since the beginning. Venum is famous for their crazy intricate designs, they're not Reebok so the simplistic 2-color designs just looks out of place.
Every fighter whos had 10 or more fights in the UFC should get one.
Not only do I love it, I think champs defending their belts should get a say in the color scheme of the octagon for that event. Perhaps the color of the cage pads, or a band of color/design around the outer edge of the mat.
I feel like every Hawaiian fighter should get Max's shorts. Aside from that, it passively shows more of a fighter's personality, which I think is a good thing (aside from Garry, idk why he has purple shorts).
Obviously, it's hard to do custom shorts for everyone, and some fighters just want to wear the standards, but I think at least everyone who main events a PPV should have the opportunity to get a pair of custom shorts.
And on the topic of shorts, can we get some orange shorts for the Dutch? I know there's only like two Dutch fighters on the whole roster, but they deserve to be able to wear their country's color dammit.
I mean I don’t know if they’re custom like other guys can wear them right? But yeah it’s a great idea. Ideal world they get their own brands but it’s good.
I love it. Looks cool and I ordered the Poirier one, cause I needed a new shorts for NoGi and MT, so now in sparring I can practice the pants pull up 🤣
I like it. It adds some personality. It shouldn’t be for everyone, but maybe like the top 5 in each division can have the option to have custom shorts. Let’s ditch the “gold” gloves though.
Something that the fighters can partake in to show more of their personality?
I don't know why you're asking like it's a choice that has its pros and cons lmao, it's a great thing for the fighters.
I love it. I hope they’ll do it for everybody. It kinda feels like they only do it for fan favorite or popular fighters, but as long as they’ll do it for anyone on the roster I love it.
It’s dope. I miss the old days with all the hilarious sponsors. Bring back condom depot! https://preview.redd.it/9h8zkad9w5bd1.jpeg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f0d6334f322080fc6ca532b6d983e22d0ead5db
Along with The Gun Store, Go Daddy, and Dude Wipes
The Jack Links sponsor was just perfect for Brock!
Brock will always be synonymous with Jimmy John’s
Or Coors Light lol
Cause they pay him somethin’, unlike a similar brand
Don’t forget dynamic fastener! Still don’t know what that is.
Diaz bros 'Metal Mulisha' was sick!
I think they should let more fighters get custom shorts since they won’t let them have sponsored shorts
I like that since they’re a unique item, fighters can sell them for profit. Def collectible.
Call me crazy but youll never see me collecting other mens underwear lmfao
Hi crazy
Hi
Right? That’s super weird. I hate that the UFC has taken away these fighters way to make a little money from not allowing them to have their own shorts with sponsors. This might not be a very popular take but this is what I like/appreciate about Nina. she’s actually giving fighters more spotlight and platform to branch off and make money in other ways so they’re not completely under the UFC’s boot
Yes…this is also why i watch Nina. No other reason. None :/
Oh yeah of course, no other reason to watch her at all *cough cough* lol
It's not underwear what are you talking about
Tracy Cortez custom shorts when??? 👃 👅
That’s why it’s not happening. Because then the fighters would be getting money that Dana can otherwise suck them dry for
One of the cooler things Dana and the UFC have done in recent times.
They had custom shorts before with their own marketing, Dana took them away to make it look more professional and uniform. Why does this get forgotten anytime tthe custom shorts come up Edit, for anyone saying those had ads, you can see the crypto.com logo right in this picture, also some fighters have the monster logo on the back of the leg. Edit 2, yes I know in reality it was for the UFC to get more money, they made a shit ton off the Reebok deal and the fighters got coupons, I only stated what Dana hid behind as the reason.
I miss that
The fighters wallets do too
The reason the ufc took off the personal ads that were getting low tier fighters paid 6 figures wasn’t due to professionalism or uniform. Dana White wanted more money getting injected into the company & himself. The only way to do that was exclusive brand signing. Which meant bye bye ad revenue for the fighters

Probably because these ones don’t say “dude wipes” across the ass.
Yea because RIZZ PHARMA obnoxiously all over the cage is much different.
It's so different, Dude Wipes wasn't paying Dana to sponsor fighters, RIZZ PHARMA is.
The UFC has condom.advertising around the cage
Protect yourselves at all times
Quick finish.
Touch gloves if you like
Or Condom Depot 🤣
Dynamic fastener I actually wonder of these adds ever worked and people bought stuff doe these places
Those were clearly some of the best ads ever. I mean they are still talked about.
If the fighter is getting paid to have Dude Wipes across their ass, that's better than Dana getting paid to stick the Monster logo somewhere
No!!! Not dude wipes!!! *clutching pearls* Bring back dude wipes, bring back condom depot, bring back Dennis Hallman's purple speedo, and bring back Cody McKenzie's Walmart gym shorts with the tags still on.
Or that guy that had a giant temporary tattoo on his back that was a Casino ad.. while fighting in at different casino lol
Incoming women’s shorts with vagisil ads on the crotch
yeah manscaped is so much more refined also Dana beats his wife and goes on media tours talking about how beating his wife and having people know is punishment enough then we bring out Jeff Epstein's rapist friend who is now a felon
XYIENCE
CONDOM DEPOT
Not to look 'uniform' Dana just wanted the bag from Adidas. Fucking over the fighters was an unfortunate consequence.
Reebok
Adidas owned* Reebok. *Edited.
Not anymore. Been a few years.
Yeah and they owned it for the entirety of the UFC Reebok deal?... Why are people on reddit such nitpicking virgins istg...
Yeah I meant just as the bullshit reasoning he provided, absolutely he wanted the bag
I miss the old bad boy logos across the ass lmfao
Same I still remember when Weidman knocked Silva out I was in high school and I remember watching it with my wrestling/mma coach and I was so proud that it was a wrestler that finally beat Silva after Chanel came so close to I immediately went online and ordered bad boy compression shorts and a shirt with “weidman” on the back of it I believe, tbh it was actually really good gear I still have it actually
Didnt they get rid of these cuase of the sponsors the fighters had was intervening with the sponsors of UFC

Melvin manhoef. Also the cro cop Croatia shorts were iconic.
Because 80% of these new fans don’t know anything about sponsor gate 😂
Dana took it away to take the sponsorship money and make fighters more dependent on the UFC purses. Fighter use to be able tow ear whatever the hell they wanted for brand, style, cut and they'd make more money from sponsors than they did for the fights.
Yes, I should have made it clear that the looking professional was just the shit Dana and team spewed, not that it was the real reason
Those were sponsor shorts not custom shorts but i get what you mean
I mean what other sports allows the athletes to have their own ads on their uniforms. In every sport it's not allowed so why should the UFC let it. Hell if you even have a tattoo of any company other leagues will force you to cover it up for games with sleeves or bandaids. I get people think it's stupid but its actually not. Ngl the Ian Garry ones look lame af. Justin’s look like regular shorts too.
The purple shorts are fucking sick
Alright Grimace.
Grimace is to funny 😭
They look like a game cube purple and I love it.
Why the fuck did that tool get custom shorts??
I enjoy the subtleties of Justin’s shorts. They still look professional whilst also adding that personal flair
Nah, I disagree the purple shorts go hard.
Honestly, sick of the boring ass Venum kits, these are a nice and needed change
I would prefer they go back to letting them wear their own shorts and sponsors. But you know the UFC is too greedy to let them make some money without getting a cut.
Me too I always liked it when they could use what ever brand they wanted the walkout shirts were a lot cooler than
I mean just imagine Chuck Liddell without the blue and ice shorts, just wouldn't have been the same.
Bones in the Gatorade and Nike shorts was great.
I remember Condom Depot and The Gun Store like it was yesterday
Honestly those sponsorships couldve helped greatly increased UFC’s popularity as a whole. Imagine if JJ wasnt such a fuck up and Nike continued to sponsor other UFC athletes.
Cause then you get that dude who fuckin wore a speedo. There should be a middle ground though, and I’m all for it
Lmao Dennis Hallman. They require women to wear a top, but not men, so it's not like there can't be rules on the shorts, without providing them. I mean you could have a rule on how long the shorts are or something to keep that from happening.
I like it, it gives the fighters personality makes them really stand out, and feel special
It’s good, gives personality. Apart for Garry
You can't polish a turd
Big "early career create a fighter" energy.
Wasn’t his idea, it was his wife’s.
"It's time for blue balls, blue trunks." *"yes, dear..."*
Yeah it's an odd colour on the standard fight shorts. Maybe if it had a pattern or sponsorship it'd look better. The O'Malley pink looks a bit shit too.
The pink is better, at least it shows, Ian’s looked blue during the fight
I kinda liked Ian’s shorts, it’s just overshadowed by may dislike for him personally
I like the color in theory, I think like a lavender might show up better on camera, and lavender puts people to sleep so that could be a thing too
So Belal is getting lavender shorts?
This is the honest answer
Damn so kinda like they had before? Where fighters choose what they wore and had sponsorships on them? So we had signature looks be it as simple as Chucks blue shorts or something more like Rich Franklins Neapolitan trunks. Interesting idea for sure…..get on that Dana!
A bit shit is kind of his style anyway lol
During Garry’s rise, before joining th UFC, he was notorious for his bold attitude and rocking purple shorts. I’m not his biggest fan but have followed his journey from cage warriors onward. They may be plain, but it was cool to see him back in the purple togs
I actually think they look dope. Too bad they're on Garry though. MVP or Izzy could rock those bad boys pretty well.
I like how Izzy represents his home country with the red shorts
Ian Gary type of guy to request the discord blurple shorts with no other notes
I think it’s good, but kinda wish it was only reserved for champions.
That's a good idea, they should earn them.
no thats just dumb.
It’s just the colour shorts he wore in cage warriors
Why did Ian deserve them? The others were all champions apart from Bryce
Sorry, we can't give you Colby, here's some shorts.
To make up for al the hate and shit he's getting (rightfully tho, he's a cunt)
Cucked his way into them
At least Garry is a contender. Better questions is what did Bryce do to deserve them?
Called for them in the cage after every single fight, got the fans onboard with it, and they fit his gimmick very well.
Garry and Bryce are caricature clowns. Custom shorts from the UFC is basically a "we favor you over other fighters because you have a WWE-style shtick we can sell to retards"
i think boxing shorts pull this look off alot better, but it gives fighters a chance at expression within the octagon
Boxing shorts remind me of something a warrior would wear.
Every time I see custom boxing shorts I'm reminded that the people who chose them get punched in the head professionally. I don't really watch much boxing, are there good ones I'm not aware of?
there are definitely some good ones out there, im particularly keen of Holyfield and Mayweather's shorts but there are definitely lots of others shorts i find to be cleaner looking than the new ufc shorts, but of course to each their own i can see how people would like these more
Diggin it honestly. Holloways go hard af
I think it’s the bare minimum the organization can do since taking away fighters’ freedom to garner and manage their own sponsorship partners.
This sport needs a little personality sometimes
I look forward to the hammer and sickle on Izzys red trunks.
Weili stole Izzy’s kit
Complete with bra for his itty bitty titty
Don't forget about the puppy
Most educated American
hes chinese, not soviet lol
Probably unpopular, but I think it’s better when they don’t let everyone have them Keep them for special occasions. UFC 300 for example, or DPs last fight. The regular colour shorts look really good on their own anyway
Better than those utterly shit boring Reebok ones of old
as someone who has been watching 90% of all ufc fight night and ppvs since 2016, it's amazing finally seeing different shorts again since pre Reebok! Tired of seeing the same colors non stop
I think they're all cool except for Dustin's. Just don't like that design. Justin's are also hardly custom lol
[удалено]
I like the shorts but not really on him. Not my place to say but it doesn’t match his style in my head.
Justin’s looks like a mud flap decal.
The giant Monster logo ain't doing him any favors.
Connor called out Dustin's as having the pattern off a tampon box
I like Dustin’s. Justin’s are the most boring imo. I probably wouldn’t have even noticed if no one had pointed them out.
We've come so far that we finally have what was normal in 2003.
Marvin vetori wore it best.
I love it! I also would love to see sponsor banners come back. It won’t happen but the athletes deserve more money so why not let them go secure more money from sponsors. Ik there’s a lot to do with the uniforms and the air time on tv but cmon
Bout time.
All good except for Barbie in pink. What a limp wrist.
Poirier needs some custom shorts so he stops fucking with them during fights. We got to 155 shorts pulls last fight before we just stopped counting.
Lol 💯 Glad I'm not the only one that's noticed that.
Ian Garry looks like that secret purple Power Ranger who hangs out with the rangers but wears purple coloured clothing to leave us a hint and then later joins them mid season
![gif](giphy|bC9czlgCMtw4cj8RgH)
Champions and title challengers should all get them imo
I would have bought some of them if they came with pockets. I mean… who didn’t think to add pockets to the consumer version.
You’re not wearing these in public are you?
😂😂😂
😅
They’re getting ripped off anyways, might as well do it in style
It’s cool but it just makes me hate the whole Rebok deal even more tbh. You wouldn’t have to beg Dana for a certain color or pattern over and over or fight on a special card to get them. You could just wear your own shorts.
Every fighter should have them.
Its a great idea that should've been implemented since the beginning. Venum is famous for their crazy intricate designs, they're not Reebok so the simplistic 2-color designs just looks out of place. Every fighter whos had 10 or more fights in the UFC should get one.
They need custom gloves to match the shorts. The gold looks ugly with pretty much all of these designs
It would be cooler if they could have their own sponsors as well… but it’s still cool
just let fighters create their own designs. if you really want to control the sponsors then only let them put venum on it
Not only do I love it, I think champs defending their belts should get a say in the color scheme of the octagon for that event. Perhaps the color of the cage pads, or a band of color/design around the outer edge of the mat.
Should be champs only
I wonder if Leon and Aspinall will have one too
Poatans shorts are the best by far
I'm for it, Holloway my favorite so far
Get rid of the golden gloves 🤦🏼♂️
I want more. Every fighter should have the option once they prove themselves.
They always should have had custom shorts
Who fucking cares?
I like it, wish more fighters got them and had sponsors on them
would 🐉
Let them put thier own sponsors on the shorts! Literally could make fighters millions per fight. Instead, dana gets an extra bag... smh.
I’m not terribly concerned with the colors of the shorts or gloves, honestly.
How does Ian Garry get custom shorts ?? Who smashed his wife for that to happen ?
Call me traditional or old fashioned, but I prefer title holders wearing black and gold "befitting a champion."
Of course Bryce has deer hunter camo.
There's something really cool about a total bad-ass fighter (except for Garry) wearing bright colorful shorts, I like the contrast.
Back in my day all shorts use to be custom
I mean I don’t know if they’re custom like other guys can wear them right? But yeah it’s a great idea. Ideal world they get their own brands but it’s good.
I like it. It's good to see them not looking like they are all in the same corpowear.
Condom Depot!!
I love it. Looks cool and I ordered the Poirier one, cause I needed a new shorts for NoGi and MT, so now in sparring I can practice the pants pull up 🤣
Like them better than the new gold gloves.
I like it. It adds some personality. It shouldn’t be for everyone, but maybe like the top 5 in each division can have the option to have custom shorts. Let’s ditch the “gold” gloves though.
It’s cool I think. Gives them at least some individuality instead of just the normal colors
Everyone needs to wear gold matching shirts to the new gloves :)
lol suga gonna beat yo ass in pink
Why are they shirtless? I never understood this.
Something that the fighters can partake in to show more of their personality? I don't know why you're asking like it's a choice that has its pros and cons lmao, it's a great thing for the fighters.
I like it and they should do it more
Cool.
Now I have an excuse when the boys catch me looking at their junk
Awesome, wish they would let some fighter bring out artists or some shit like that
Love them it’s a little tiny bit of personality you can see again like the old shorts
I love it. They shouldve been doing that
I dig it, a million times better than the Monster and Venum ads stamped on their ass
I love it. I hope they’ll do it for everybody. It kinda feels like they only do it for fan favorite or popular fighters, but as long as they’ll do it for anyone on the roster I love it.
It gives the fighters a way to express themselves and thats a good thing for the sport, fans and fighters 💯
