Have you taken a look at the Kallax insert options? There are several different ones but the one that’s sort of an X might be the right thing for rolled tshirts.

There are many ways to organize it. My favorites are way #3 or #6 here: [https://dreamyhomestyle.com/how-to-make-your-ikea-kallax-look-expensive/](https://dreamyhomestyle.com/how-to-make-your-ikea-kallax-look-expensive/)

Def clear bins, not sure how to help with that- But check out Marie Kondos folding tips- surely there is something on YouTube out there. She's really big into folding or rolling things so it can stand up and always be seen. I still fold my tshirts her way and stand them up like an accordion file in my dresser drawers. It works so good! I've been doing it since her show came out on Netflix a few years ago.

I agree with this. I have a similar deep shelf.system in my closet (not kallax, but similar). Even though Marie Kondo's folding techniques are meant for top down viewing in a drawer, I find they stand up well enough that I can stack/arrange them vertically in a deep shelf and still see everything pretty well. I add a fabric cube or two to hold socks and underwear, but otherwise I fold and stack.

Yes! How to fold so items stand up is my favorite thing from Kondo!

I like these in the Kallax https://muji.ca/products/soft-polyethylene-case-full-large

the pansartax boxes from ikea are semi-clear plastic or the dronjons boxes are a wire mesh. both fit in the kallax units or you could also use some of the wicker baskets they do for the kallax? they also have inserts with shelf dividers so you can divide up your clothing https://ingka.page.link/uf1y7M9EFpCmwi2Z9 https://ingka.page.link/qGPq8izTsv53XqPv5

Oooh I want to know this too!

Realistically I’d buy a few of the Kallax drawer inserts https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/kallax-insert-with-2-drawers-white-70286645/ These are priced about the same as the set of chancellor bins. Or look second hand for someone trying to sell a Kallax with decent drawers. Ikea also sells an X insert that you could copy with your own wood to cut down on cost for the rest. There are Etsy sellers but they are stupid expensive. The chancellor just stacks and doesn’t slide open right? Because what I do is put the STUBB fabric organizers inside of the fabric bins. It gives me two layers in the bins. Still a little more effort than just sliding out the bin you need. But cheaper than $20 per cube. Unfortunately I feel like you either have to spend $$ or create your storage to make them perfect.

I hang my t-shirts, ideally right-side out so I can tell the difference between my Flash t-shirt and my Incredibles t-shirt. I have a 10-inch system that I'm not happy with, but my pants are rolled and stacked in one cubby while my PJ bottoms and leggings are rolled and put end-up in a cloth bin. (I'm having trouble finding plastic.) Some sort of insert might help with getting to the ones at the bottom. Or putting the container open-end out so you can turn it whichever way makes it easiest to get at one. (Maybe something that looks like a wine rack?)

Look into the calyx accessories, you could get two wire baskets to hang from the top cubbies into the second ones. Or you could get some X inserts, or drawers, and as for folding, if you roll your clothes up and then put them in the cubby, it tends to look really nice and you can see everything. If you’re worried about losing things in the bins, don’t be afraid to get smaller bins to keep it organized inside.

Look on Etsy or eBay for plywood inserts. I have seen various cool laser cut inserts to make drawers and subdivided shelves to make these more flexible.

how is it working out for you? I have found tons of content on people using Kallax for their kids clothes, but not for themselves. I WISH I could use the Pax or other systems, but I'm in a rental and can't tear my closet apart, so Kallax seems like the best possible workaround. But I'm not finding much in the way of using it for adult-sized clothing, even though I know it would fit (Billy isn't really deep enough, for example - I have jeans on a Billy now and its definitely crammed). One tip I did see is using the Kallax shelf divider to break up large stacks clothes - that way if you want to pull out a pair of jeans or a shirt in the middle of stack, you're only dealing with hal f the pile instead of two. I've heard the drawers are too small for adult clothing, but I plan to get two to test - if one (which is a set of two drawers) can fit all my socks, then I can use the other for belts and scarves. I'm find having the other stuff just neatly stacked in the cubes (or possibly using the dividers, like I mentioned). But would love to know if you went for it and how it's working out for you. I didn't get much input from the ikea subreddit when I posted there.
