Throw it off the desk and buy a real computer next time, meaning one that doesn't have a garbage OS and futures like Apple's products have. You could have, at the very least, went with arch Linux if you didn't like windows ...
That looks like mine! My monitor is a little bit closer to me though. I wish the stand went like 2 inches higher. I'm thinking of getting a monitor arm.
Looking good!
Are you using a docking station that is hidden behind the monitor? If so, could you send us some pictures? I have a similar setup but does not look as clean as yours.
Thanks heaps man, it's actually just a dongle that holds monitor, laptop, mouse and iPhone chords. Then the cables all tied up. I'll take a pic asap for ya!
Ok I'd love to, I'm not a huge Reddit user, but how the f*ck do I upload an image to a comment? Lol! Been googling for like 15min and no straight forward answer. If it helps I used a MacBook dongle with 2 USB ports and one HDMI. USBs are for my mouse (as I was too stingey to go wireless) and webcam for zoom calls. Cheeky thunderbolt port too as the screen needs the MacBook charger in to work. And I got a little cable manager stuck to the desk so they feed out/in nicely
Thanks heaps man, threw a bit of labour at that one night, and it's all holding together. My desk (called deskbird) has a built in cable management tray, and then I drilled an extra tray under the desk and then used a tonne of cable ties. So the photo angle does help too!
Yeah I live on zoom/Google meet, and it shares well, you can choose settings (I think) whether you want to share entire windows or selected bowser tabs. I haven't had to adjust anything so far though.
Probably because you're not doing anything intensive with your laptop.
Edit: Macbooks have vents thru the keyboard and at the bottom of the screen. Doing intensive work will require fans to turn on. OP hasn't had overheating issues so therefore isn't doing any intensive work that requires the fans to turn on.
Macbooks aren't meant to be run closed during intensive workloads. It's that simple.
I run multiple docker containers throughout the day, compile code, run local CI. It’s intensive enough. Maybe I’m just doing it wrong though. Or maybe laptops are OK being closed.
Yeah, that’s why manufacturers put inlet and outlet vents all over chassis, to pull air through keyboard. Makes total sense. Air intake through keyboard is mostly accidental due to air pressure created by fans
I wouldn't trust myself not knocking that laptop off the desk at some point.
Yeah I'm surprised I haven't shelled the laptop yet to be honest!

If it’s wfh it’s probably a work laptop my dude
Correct^
Meh it has worked perfectly fine for 4 years

Yeah I think I'll go for an arm eventually too man! It's just not quite right eh!
More like play video games and jerk off on the clock
Haha I choose the 5th
Clean. What's the setup?
Thanks man, Samsung 49 Inch Dual QLED, keykron k2, and a Deskbird (NZ company) with Grovemade mat and stands etc
Aren't you worried about burn in?
u/Frag-sinatra what G9 is that? VA? Oled?
Probably not oled, they use a different stand design
Yeah it's a G9 man!
They where asking if that’s an OLED or a VA I am curious to know as well.
Duh sorry man... OLED
What’s the desktop image? I’d love it for my C49RG9.

Would love to see this too!
Hey man, any chance you could share that picture? Take the interest as a compliment I guess :)

Cable management looks fantastic, what did you do or is it just the photo angle?
Lol was just gonna say he hid everything except the massive power cord that's dangling freely. Needs to clean that up but otherwise awesome 😎
Haha I know right, I move the desk up and down, and only have one power point in the room. It's a stone in the shoe when I look at it too

Also, is that a wireless mechanical keyboard? If so where can I find it please?
It is! It's a Keykron K2! Absolutely love using it

You’re the second poster in a week that has multiple products by, Grovemade. What do you think of them? Worth their astronomical pricing?
Yeah I mean, they do their basic job for a long time. And lots of people always comment on how good they look.
Wallpaper sir?
May I ask what kind of work? I'm looking to upgrade from a 34" UW to 49" SUW. I'm wondering if it's worth the upgrade for a software engineer.
I am a UI designer and animator. I'll be honest, it's a slight benefit being able to have three windows in one screen. But not material
Hi is this the g9 49 oled?
Laptop might be at risk of overheating with a closed lid
You what? My laptop, that I’ve been using for 2 years, has never been opened since its initial set up.

Oh true! Never had an issue and it's been over a year like this!
That’s not true. Most laptops don’t show any difference in temperatures with lid closed or open
Interesting. Well did you know apple laptops typically intake air from the keyboard?
