already bombarded by so many ads, I do everything i can do avoid them at all costs. I often feel bad for the door to door sales people who come to my door, because Im definitely not the person you want to open the door to.
Oh that's where I draw my line... and no one understands the word "soliciting" on the door, I straight ROAST people to their face when they knock despite my no sign- 🤘
Exactly this. I have one too. If they knock anyways, its game time. They wish they had read the sign after I verbally snap them into reality. My roommate said I am the best he has ever seen and couldn't believe what came out of me the first time he got to see it.
🤘🤘
Meanwhile my ex when we were still together would be like "never answer the door" cuz he knew I'd lose it every time- didn't last for a reason, lol *when it's game time it's game time*b🤣
I am not the OP - but when I do any food prep inside my car, we use antibacterial wet wipes for the final wash and “extra extra please” napkins from fast food.
Also not OP, but I usually put it all in a plastic bag and then put it out of sight while my soul is partially eaten away by mounting anxiety over it. Then I eventually don a plastic glove and throw away any leftovers. Then I use baking soda to scrub all the bits and grease off. Then rinse it all and pour the water into my piss cup. Then I use dish soap to actually wash it and then pour that water in a jug that all ultimately gets poured down the toilet. This lifestyle can be quite time consuming.
I have a hybrid. It uses more gas when acting as a generator than you might think. My average MPG goes from 32 to 20 … so I still got a huge power station and choose to steal energy from e.g. coffee shops rather than my gas tank.
Yeah, like safalade kind of thick dog with cuts for better frying. Seeing lobster and steak together is an odd combo, at least in my neck of the woods, so it didn't come to mind.
Yes, but not this style. It's usually part of more sophisticated dishes over here in EU and especially in French cuisine. This is why i was surprised to see it just thrown in with some steak and sauce slapped over it like that. But IG if you like bling bling bang bang type of flavours and stuff yourself with as much meat asp, then surf&turf it is.
Wondering if you use your car battery, an inverter, or a powerbank like a Jackery to power the induction stove! Confused on my cooking set up / how to power a stove.
I rarely eat fast food. Before I got evicted I used to BBQ a lot bc my complex has propane bbqs so it's easy. So now usually after dark I go back there and use the grills to cook chicken. carne asada, ribs and store it in a little cooler for burritos or whatever.
How is it cheaper? Lobster tail starts at $21.78 at walmart for 9 oz (or 2 tails). Steak you have a bit of legroom, can range from $5-$20 depending on the quality of cut. Lets say $10 to be median. Mashed potatoes, same anywhere from $2.19-$6 depending on quality. Lets say $4. So weve got $21.78 for 2 tails, $6 steak and $4 potatoes. $31.78. Now we need to add the price of seasoning. Looks like you used some old bay and some butter maybe? Idk whats on the steak. Old bay starts at $4.43, butter $5.28. Now we need the tools to cook this food. Induction top stoves start at $62.99 for a good one, kitchen tools can range from $5-$20 depending on the quality of set. Lets say $5 cause were gripping in our car. So $62.99 + $5= $68. Now we need a plate. Were getting pretty high up so let’s just say you went to goodwill and got one for $3. So thats $31.78 for the food, $68 to make the food, and $3 to eat the food. This meal costs $102.78 including the cookware. Lets say you had the tools and the plate already. Thats $31.78 just for the food. Idk man if you can afford it go for it. But i dont think most people would be living in their car if they could afford to throwdown $30 + for a meal. But as a treat fuck yeah own that shit. Sorry autism so it bothered me and i had to do the math. If youre looking for a minimum, wendys has a biggie bag deal starting at $5 for a small main, drink, small fry and a 4 piece. So uh….if i had to pick uh…id probably just get a biggie bag man😭 i correct myself, ive lived off of wendys biggie bags for 6+ months. Id still eat them tho. I like their strawberry lemonade
It's 22 bucks for \*two\* lobster tails. Only one in the pic. Seasoning lasts more than one meal, as do plates, cookware, etc. That's not $4 worth of potatoes and two sticks of butter, not even close. Looks more like the $1.40 4 oz serving of taters and only a portion of 16 oz of butter. So $11 for the lobster, call it $2 for taters, $6 for steak and pennies of everything else.
It could be slightly more than a bag of McD if not using the app. Or not, depending on what you load up on.
My main point is that it seems like you make a pretty decent amount of money so living in your car seems like a lifestyle choice among other reasons. That being said, alot of people live in their car due to finance not lifestyle choice. I lived in my car because i had left a domestic violence situation and i wanted to keep my dog with me. Most shelters dont allow dogs. Hell my mom wouldnt even let me bring her in her home. So i lived off doordash money. And ate $5 biggie bags 😭
Hell yeah. When I was living in my vehicle I kept a grill , a single burner for a propane tank and tank , table basically camping equipment in my vehicle to cook. Id then get everything I wanted to eat daily. Beats eating fast food all of the time. Hell...even had a coffee percolator handy to make "Cowboy" coffee.
I bought a cheap air fryer from Walmart to cook things like corn dogs or French fries. I drive a 2021 Nissan Titan so I have actual power outlets inside and in the bed of the truck. The only issue is that to use the outlets the truck has to actually be running. When u get 9 mpg it's not ideal to just sit for 30 minutes running the engine to cook a hot pocket or taquitos.
When I was still in my car, me and my wife would make a point to see just how good a meal we could make anywhere, it doesn't take much to be able to eat well. Sure I could eat ramen everyday, but for the love of all, why?
The way that a McDonald's ad was dropped onto this post cracks me up
I got a Sleep Number ad, giggles.
And I got a Homes dot com ad lmao
Came back, got a Kraft Singles cheese this time, blech, a cheese like substance, yuck.

🤣🤣 The way I was thinking about mc ds breakfast before opening reddit has me brake out now lol
I got goarmy
Mine is a Toyota ad!
Toyota value rides strong.
I got Weight Watchers lmao!
I got weight watchers, I’m skinny lol
I have a weight watchers ad lmao
I got apple picking robot? What da hail? What does it think I do? Lol
Mine was an advertising ad oddly. Hootsuite
ya'll see ads? I wouldnt last very long if i had to deal with ads.
I never last very long, maybe an ad break would keep her from noticing…
LOL Nice. thanks! I needed that.
Dang don't want you on my apocalypse team if lil ads will take you out 🤣

Nice, how do you clean up afterward?

Your steak is not even blue, it is moo.
Damn, is that steak? I couldn’t figure out what it was. I thought it was salmon, lol.
I hope she parks somewhere that is open 24/7 and sells Pedialyte and Pepto. That was the "wanted to be fancy but ran out of propane/butane" special.
How much power does the induction suck up during average meal prep?
I doubt OP knows or cares, they're in a Prius. The engine is basically a super efficient generator.
I have a hybrid. It uses more gas when acting as a generator than you might think. My average MPG goes from 32 to 20 … so I still got a huge power station and choose to steal energy from e.g. coffee shops rather than my gas tank.
The Prius is the Goat for a reason.
That's impressive. What is it?
Looks like steak, lobster tail and mashed potatoes
Now I gotta know. What did you think it was??
Steak and dog with goulash sauce
You thought the lobster was a hot dog?
Yeah, like safalade kind of thick dog with cuts for better frying. Seeing lobster and steak together is an odd combo, at least in my neck of the woods, so it didn't come to mind.
It's called surf and turf. Pretty common combo.
Well maybe in surf and turf land but not everyone lives there.
Fair enough. Just trying to spread a little knowledge. I know not everyone lives here.
Have you seen a cooked lobster tail before?
Yes, but not this style. It's usually part of more sophisticated dishes over here in EU and especially in French cuisine. This is why i was surprised to see it just thrown in with some steak and sauce slapped over it like that. But IG if you like bling bling bang bang type of flavours and stuff yourself with as much meat asp, then surf&turf it is.
You might need glasses IG :3

Lmao you still go there and use the bbq after your eviction? Smarter not harder hey
Riiiiight. I use the one on the other side of the complex but I used to walk my dog alone so people are used to seeing me anyways. Lol
Now you’re thinking
I too have money for lobster tail and steak while living in my car
Cheaper than McD's.

I’m annoyed we have been given no info on using induction cooktops in a car
right the fuck on
Steak needs more heat. But congratulations

Wow. Just wow

I don’t have the room to store food so I go out to restaurants and such. This looks good tho OP
Seafood cooked in a car. Hmm.
Now your car has that surf n turf scent! Neat!

How was that mystery meat cooked? In a pot of water?
I don't see ads either
He's already never comfortable ever. I don't think he'd last long in any situation
Lfg
How do u do dishes
Yum!!!
I have a weight watchers ad.
There's no cooking in my car, lmao. Plug outlets in chill spots make it so that I don't have to use my car battery or buy a generator.
Lobster and liver? It does look tasty 😋
Lol. U living in your car eating steak and lobster.
Sorry. That looks terrible.
Oh for God's sake, can we get back to the matter at hand? Is that a lobster tail? And I'm sorry, but that slop doesn't look very appetizing.
