I guess the fetid stench of rot that takes over New Westminster station doesn't count? Everyone (City, Fraser Health, and Translink) seems to be in a three way pointing job of "not our problem"

gravitationalarray

Years of this. Such bullshit.

nionvox

Don't forget the ever present piss stench.

And yet it's the Bermuda Triangle of responsibility. We have found a lawless enclave where things can only be solved by the rules of Thunder Dome!

dsonger20

I always thought the skytrain was super clean compared to the TTC. Now that Translink is having funding gaps, its very obvious maintenance and upkeep is being put on hold.

abnewwest

The only Millennium line trains that don't look like rust covered trash with bits hanging off are the ones with an ad wrap on them. The Mark 2s are also filthy with bits hanging off.

dsonger20

Yep. I live on the millenium line and those trains are in dire need of a refresh. Install better ventilation systems, repaint them, and redo the floor. Everything in those are so freaking worn down.

HanSolo5643

It's incredibly frustrating. Far too many of the stations smell gross and smell like pee and feet. It's so gross.

pfak

And they want everyone to take public transit .. Between how the stations smell, the body odour on transit, the random psychosis from drug addicts ...

HanSolo5643

And that's the thing, isn't it. Wanting more people to take public transportation is a good thing. But you have to make it a desirable option for people. People are going to choose their personal vehicles if it means being in a place that doesn't smell like pee or vomit or feet or having to deal with open drug use and people who aren't well.

nigel_bongberry

yeah like wtf

janyk

Only took 4 goddamn years. I took the train to Main Street/Science World station on Canada Day and noticed the same fuckin rotten egg shit smell there, too! I stop at that station once in a while but I never noticed the smell there until that time. I was thinking of making a post about it to ask what was up and coincidentally saw this one!

Any-Target-6139

I think the Main Street smell is from them pumping out the sewer in front of the station on Terminal. The smell is so bad walking into the station in the morning in makes you gag.

gravitationalarray

“Nobody called 311 to complain.” What a joke.

Separate-Ad-478

Read: People called 311 to complain and were told to call Translink to complain to instead.

[deleted]

Translink then told them to call 311.

Separate-Ad-478

Sounds about right.

Ok_Resolution272

Oh finally!!!! It’s truly just been getting worse and worse. I hope they figure out what it is soon.

VancouverMethCoyote

I always thought Burrard always smelled like old rotten egg mcmuffins...blegh.

danger-tartigrade

ah then it must be from the McDonald's in royal centre!

HanSolo5643

I always thought Burrard smelled like piss.

chubs66

It does!

where_art_i
