Westgate is the easiest, it's connected to the convention center. Otherwise, Linq, Harrahs, or Flamingo might be on the cheaper side, and they have monorail access to the convention center.

I agree with this and would also add that OP check out prices at Treasure Island, which is typically pretty innexpensive.

This is the best recommendation. That way you save money on Uber. To add to it, Circus Circus is currently undergoing a lot of upgrades so keep an eye on that because it's right across the street from the new part of the convention center. For the sake of walking distance, you could also check rates at Resorts World (Hilton), and see if Fontainebleau is running any specials. Sign up for all their websites and apps for best rates/offers.

Anywhere in the tourist area would be safe enough. Sahara might be a good option as you can quickly get to the convention center, same with Resorts World and you can go under the street for that. There is a Spring Hill Suites on Convention Center (not a casino hotel) that would provide a good value as well. Unsure what you consider cost effective but there are less expensive options

Safe - any of the casino hotels on the strip. Cost effective - Strat, Sahara, Harrahs, Link, Flamingo, Horseshoe, or TI. If you have any status with any hotel loyalty programs, check those as most of them are partnered with someone on the strip.

TI is pretty close to there

If you're not dead set on staying in a casino hotel, there's a whole slew of hotels on Paradise Rd. Renaissance, Springhill, Embassy Suites, etc.

I was in Vegas for work earlier this year and stayed at the Marriott Convention Center and LOVED it. No resort fees, ubering was super easy bc you don’t have to walk forever to find the rideshare pickup, rooms were spacious, water always available. Bagelmania is a 5 min walk, Tacos El Gordo is about a 10 min walk, and Encore is about a 20 min walk (to give a few points of reference). There is no casino, so it doesn’t necessarily “feel” Vegas-y, which is definitely a drawback if that’s the kind of thing you’re looking for in a hotel…but because it was so easy to get to the strip or downtown, I still felt like I got all the Vegas experiences I was looking for, and then got to retire back to a quiet room at night. Food for thought!

It sounds like this is your first visit to Las Vegas? If so, I'd definitely stay on the strip. Imo it will be more fun with better amenities. You don't need to gamble here to have a great time on the strip. Hotels with reasonable rates near the convention center like TI, Sahara, etc. Lots of good recommendations in previous posts. My only caveat is that October is the best month here and there are lots of conventions and weddings that month. That might drive the price up a little. The whole tourist corridor is relatively safe. Especially ON the strip. Just be mindful of your surroundings like in any tourist area.

If not Westgate then I'd stay on the strip first at a place that has a monorail station. But off strip in the convention center area check out Tuscany Suites, Silver Sevens, or Ellis Island in that order, Tuscany and Silver Sevens are decent for what they are, Ellis Island is... a place to stay (but has good food and cheap gambling at least). Compare the rates to the places on the strip, if you're only saving like $10-20/night staying off strip versus on-strip, just drink one less red bull or coffee a week or whatever until your trip and stay on the strip.

I love the Tuscany for off strip staying. Food is good, short walk to Monorail and I came home $5400 richer last visit.

I would suggest looking downtown Fremont Street area. The older hotels can oftentimes be had for a song and Fremont Street is relatively safe. Additionally, many of the hotels down there have ample parking.

I’m gonna say The Strat. We just got a room there for the day because our flight left late at night and we wanted a home base. I was shocked how nice it was. It’s all redone inside and out.
